http://www2.manager....D=9530000182495 . . . I think you are all wrong. According to Yellow hi-so PAD Manager.co.th, the van was modified to put in a heavy NGV tank at the back, casing it to be unstable and flip over. Also, there is evident, red paint mark on the Honda sedan, mean that possibly, another red car is the cause of the accident, collided with Honda, which then have to choice but to collided with the van. The van should NOT be on the road in the first place, since it was MODIFIED with a NGV tank. Please leave the poor girl alone. She is innocent, and have the physical & metal ability to txt message while over-taking, unlike some old drivers could could not single task; let along multi-task. Please remember that children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside. Give them a sense of pride ...

Piengrudee you wouldn't be the Mother of that stupid Girl? are you, since you are defending her like that.

And you think she is very smart to be texting while driving, go back to school.

Are you insane woman???.....It's ok for her to to do a txt message while she is overtaking? Show them the beauty they possess inside?/... if this brainless bimbo was txting while she was overtaking she deserved everything she got!

Please! Pride has nothing to do with intelligence

    2) the NGV tank weighs no more that a normal fuel tank and the 100 lts of fuel weigh less than petrol or diesel, obviously hi-so newspapers come out in defence of hi-so customers, this is Thailand, right! :bah:

Who ever wrote the above message, regarding that poor Girl, you the writer need to be locked up and the key thrown away. You must be insane,

how can you possible protect a person like that, she is murderer and hopefully never ever forgets what she as done.

  3. Hopefully she will get done for something, if not I think there might be a bit of a public outcry. At University she might find herself being looked upon differently by her fellow students.

The law needs to change though, if she was driving then she should be punished for the deaths of the victims. Apparently she had a driving license too, so the Provincial Officer at that Issuing Office should be investigated and also charged,

I think whatever penalty, if any the Girl receives, she will live with that scene for the rest of her life,

killing 8 people is not easy to forget.

  4. Good for Mr Pletnev. He must pretty sure that he would win his case when leaving Thailand several times and always come back.

Farangs accused for child abuse happens quite often, where the case is simply extortion. The pianist is famous and properly well off too, so a "good" target for those low life.

I own a small piece of land in Patts. too and I don't live here for the girls but having a very good family life. More and more couples with kids comes to Patts. for holidays, so maybe in 10-15 years times the place will be completely changed, who knows.

wonderful choices in Thailand... why Patt? there are no redeeming features apart from girls - almost everywhere else is better

Changmaifun, we are way off topic here, try search pattaya forum and you find out why MANY expats with famlies choose Patts.

    Very simple: GIRLS

  5. They dropped the charges - so thats it. Anyone who 'owns a small property in Pattaya' is not entirely 'innocent' - it's not for the culture and the beautiful beach is it? sex rules down there that's it - one big brothel

So I guess there are no brothels in Chiang Mai? Funny, I seem to remember quite a few. If you think that looking down on Pattaya makes your "place" better, I suggest you rethink that proposition. What goes on in Pattaya goes on in all of Thailand.

    True

But Pattaya is the only place in Thailand that depends on it completely.

Take them out of Chiang Mai and it would be like removing a pimple.

Take them out of Pattaya and it would be like removing a carbuncle.:D

that was my point - no one chooses to live in Pattaya for the culture or scenery right? of course there are some here - but its like comparing the the Pope to Lucifer

I think you need to look twice, there is no place like Pattaya in the whole of Thailand,I wouldn't live there if you gave it to me free.

  6. First of all pay five times the Thai price to get into these public attractions. Arriving there with nerves shattered through the insane driving of these mini-buses. Personally l require something a lot stronger than alcohol!

I refuse to pay the RIP Off Farang prices. Just tell them like I do and turn back if everyone would do that maybe some day they will wake up, but that is very doubtful.

Regarding Tourist prices, Just show them your Thai Drivers license if you have one and you will be paying the same as all Thais.

  7. From the early 50's we (USA) learn not to trust the Russians, now it's Thailand turn to learn.

No wonder she is not doing anything about it, she is shivering in her boots, because if she does, she want be around for much longer,

Russian Mafia is a lot more BRUTAL than the Italian, it want be long before they take over the whole of Thailand. I have already spotted quite a few in Chiang Mai also,

That will be the end of a peaceful Chiang Mai, they are like Cokratches. Lets just hope they stay at the seaside resorts in the South.

  8. Let's show em: We'll start calling again Beijing by it's "real English" name... "Peking".

The very best would be, dont even go there, boycott China, see what they say than,

we seem to be good enough to spend millions as Tourist's, they would soon say,PEAS COME BACK,

we will speak and allow engish again.

  9. with all due respect to HM, I can't get behind F1 racing. I've been to a few races, years back (my uncle was a course official and took me to Brands Hatch and Silverstone a few times, waaay back in the 1960's). However, F1 racing is on the way out, and here's why:

    1. Burns a lot of fossil fuel

    2. Hyper commercial. All drivers and cars are plastered with decals over every square inch. That's what we'd like to see politician's do, though their clothes and vehicles don't have enough yardage to showcase all the companies that prop them up.

    3. Marginally athletic skills are needed. Much like golf, it fits with the premise that: the less amount of stamina, the higher the pay-outs for contestants. Look at sports which require a whole lot of stamina & athletic skills: Iron Man/Triathlons and Rock climbing and marathons. Then look at how much they pay out compared with low-stamina sports like golf and F1 racing.

Why post post something here when you know nothing about it, the development of the cars people drive today is mostly tested by motor racing, F1 and motor racings value to the modern car can not be calculated it is so great, and the fuel eficiency also, to say that the F1 drivers are not fit is just stupid, the new world champion only recently competed in a real Triathlon and posted a very respectable time coming in front of a number of regular competitors, and it was a major event not a micky mouse affair, all F1 drivers have serious fitness program to be the superb athletes they are, and only a few humans have the driving skill to be F1 drivers, your comment about ,, Burns a lot of fossil fuel,, is a real no brainer, how could you get all three points you make so wrong.

    Well said mate.

Mate, you are way out,F1 is getting stronger from year to year, with almost every year a new country added to the racing calendar,

I for one cant wait to see the 2011 season started.

  11. What a load of rubbish ! I have been to BKK twice, Pattaya 3 times and Phuket once and live in Chiang Mai. Everywhere and each time of year including holidays, there are less tourists, unless they are all Chinese ?

Yes I live in Chiang Mai too and I must say it looks definitely better than last year and as for package tours,Chinese, Japanese they all have an Itinerary,

everything is organised for them. Only shop in certain places in a given time,or you miss out.

Good luck for the shop keepers.

  12. Why the need for helmet wearing zones when it has been law for years that you have to wear a helmet when riding a motorbike?

Whilst on the subject, Motorcyclists should also be required to put light bulbsinto the lamps front and rear.

Here in Chiang Mai half of all motorbikes dont have either front or back or no lights at all and you dont see them until you are right on to them.

I dont know how many times I have missed some of them by inches.

  13. I hope some management consultancy group gets amongst these people and they rebrand the puke green and orange label and use the store layouts of Carrefour to re-lay their own mess. Big C is a disaster as a retail outlet and could improve sales dramatically simply by clean uncluttered layouts. But this is Thailand - watch the decline and maybe Carrefour will buy back in at a market gain. Usual business for those who know. Interesting to watch what happens.

Not only the layouts are wrong, but BIG C in Chiang Mai for instance are by far more expensive than Tasco for instance,

I use to shop at BIG C in Korat at that was cheaper than it's competitors.

I think the manager at the BIG C Super Hwy branch in Chiang Mai needs to do some thinking, until than I will not go back and shop there.

  14. Does somebody know if the buses are still going to like Udon Thani and Nong Khai??? Or are they not driving cause of the flood´s???

i'm not sure but i would like to know as well. my husband needs to travel from korat to udon and nong khai on monday. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Check it out, there is now a direct bus from Korat to Vientiane, I guess it lives from the main bus station.

There is a bus service now direct from Korat to Vientiane,I dont know were it lives from, I asume from the Bus station 2

  16. I live in korat last night i take my friend to go bus station, i did not know there was so much water, when we came close to the station i did see some houses where it was only possible to see the roof of the house, all trafic to the bus station are stop. the busstation have more than 70 cm of water. most cars and motor bike i did see was dead, i was driving a offroader so i did not have so many problem.

I wish all the best to all the poor people, with houses on low ground, because there home is gone, i hope the goverment will do something to help them.

My house is on high ground + 4 steps up to my home. tonight there is soppose to be comming alot more water, right now it is stilling raining alot neer sima thani hotel at mittaparp rd

Does anyone know if there are floods between Chok Chai and Khonburee??

  17. Some fee advice for CM. Get rid of all association with reds and watch tourism improve. Why would anyone travel to the heart of red territory? Duh....

I'm used to seeing gibberish on Thaivisa asiawatcher but your post stands high on the brainless and painless scale - Best stay in Pattaya, keep the Leo close while you wait for your pension checks. However please do change the singlet though, its rather rank.

Why would anybody come to Chiang Mai, because it is the best place in Thailand. Nothing to do with the red Shirts, what they did was fight for the poor and democracy.

  18. "It should be a couple of years before banks can recoup the loss with other kinds of revenue."

Translation : We'll still get the same amount of cash from each customer, and probably more. We just haven't figured out the scam yet.

The rest is pretty much untranslatable. But basically when a goose sits on a log under a full moon and you are doing an ATM transfer standing on one leg then you might get it for free.... or not.

Does not make sense to me, how the banks can loose when they are charging now 10 bath per transaction and from next month 15Bath. To me it looks like making more profit not less.

  19. The locals in Phuket drive like maniacs, I live here and I can honestly say I have never seen such bad, aggressive driving anywhere in the world compared to this place. This said I feel deeply for the poor girl and her family who are left to pick up their lives with such an empty void.. This person who was driving this killing machine which is what a 10 ton 20 wheel lump of steel is needs to be hunted down fast.

Why do the thai police let these stupid fools drive like crazy on this island? Why don't they enforce the law (if there is any law left).. I see everyday stupidity of people on motorbikes as well as cars, they don't have any consideration for other road users period..

You should come to Chiang Mai, the bike riders here are brainless, 70% dont wear helmets, even if they get booked every day. Nighttime is an absolute horror, half of the bike riders have no lights in front and back and the other half, either no lights in front or in the back. I have come up so close of hitting one with my car many times, because one just can not see them until the last minute. The other thing they turn from left to right and right to left without ever looking. I have to find out the statistics of how many bike riders dye her every day. I have ridden bikes in Phuket and BKK as well as Pataya but nothing ever has been as bad as here in Chiang Mai. I can only hope that the Police does something very soon about it.
