Hi All,
I'm living and working in Thailand and there has been a cock-up with my visa.. mis-communication/part my fault. Anyhow, I require to make a trip to get a new one. Where is the best place to go? I want to fly and prefer to spend as little as possible at the chosen destination.
I have read the HK consulate is a nightmare, Vientienne sounds good but it looks like I can't fly there. Penang seems ok flight wise but some people say it is difficult to get a visa there. Obviously, price is a concern but speed and comfort is of primary importance. If anybody could provide me with some guidance I would be highly appreciative.
Also, is it an in-out/day job or an overnight pick-up?
Many thanks.

Does anybody have any advice on where the best place to change money. I'm looking to change Baht to Hong Kong Dollars. Would it be best in a bank?

There are a few branches of 'Findig" in Pattaya and Jomtien. The sell shoes and also black laces if you need them. I don't mean to be
facetious but when I first saw the title of the thread I thought it was a comical wind-up.........wow,I tell ya',I wouldn't have the brass
to make a post like this on a public-discussion-forum,it would be way too embarrassing to reveal I couldn't source out black laces
on my 'hans solo' in a city this size.......anyways,I digress.
BTW, there are branches of "Findig" on both Beach Road and 2nd Road in central Pattaya.....so they are easily accessible..all the best !!
Oh, and "I" am not revealing anything.. A fictitous name is. Thanks again for doing the dog work for me.

Appreciate your comments. But who's the idiot.. the one running around shops looking for laces, or the one who asks the person who has been running around shops for the answer?
Thanks for the Findig suggestion, it has saved me a lot of time looking! Cheers.

Hi All,
It seems such a simple item to buy, but I can't seem to find a pair of black, business shoe laces anywhere - Does anybody have an idea where I could find them?
Many Thanks.

I really need a haircut and would like to try this shop but what happens if she thinks I am gay? Am I in danger. I speak with a slight lisp and sometimes wear a skirt (a kilt actually), should I not do this when I go? My girlfriend says I walk a little swishy so I am planning on watching a John Wayne movie before I go but is there anything else I should be aware of?
well.... actually, I always found the name Mark to be pretty gay....blame the parents..
agree.. Mark is possibly the gayest name out there

Simon,
You may find the link below helpful - There was quite an enthusiastic post some time ago on the natives choice of musical instruments..

I started a similar thread off before.. Have a look...

Mercy Mission will put them to good use.
Although most falang are larger than the average homeless Thai, so the sizing could be interesting to watch
Wher is Mercy Mission?

Unfortunately it cant be the perfect TV thread as no-one has mentioned the topic of Work Permits and whether the protagonist has one or not. If not, that automatically invalidates his every opinion & action. ( I think that's written somewhere in the TV Rules & Regulations).
Quality thread.. But it will also need the words "nail" and "coffin" in there somewhere to qualify.

I really cant believe this is a serious question, there are actually people who go on holidays and they are worried about what the price of a can of sprite is....This is hilarious....Do everybody a favour and stay at home.
I can't believe somebody actually posted a serious response offering me advice on how much a can of sprite is! Gotcha Sid Barrett!

I'll be staying in Pattaya for a few weeks with my mate and we are both partial to a can of pop now and then. Does anyone know how much a can of sprite is?

No Thai citizen need do military service if they don't want to. Just ask around for details. Traditionally, it's not discussed on internet forums.
Why does he not want to do military service?
He is willing to hold Thai citizanship so why should he not serve his country?
Is he a coward?
How old are you? 8 years old or something? I think that is one of the most immature and ridiculous statements I have ever read on this forum... "Is he a coward" What is all that about!

I have the pltinum package and never had a problem. Just hand the card over and the rest is taken care of, never had to pay up front. I did ask for that in my package.
I just checked on the list of hospitals within the Bupa network and strangely PIH is not on there. The list includes:
Bangkok Pattaya, Chonvej, Phayathai Siracaha, Pattaya Memorial, Queen Sawangwattna, Samithivej Sriracha, Laemchabung International, Eakchon and Chonburi.
So I'd advise just using the hospitals above. As a poster mentioned, it might be because Bupa view PIH as an unsuitable hospital.. who knows!

I saw something being erected (said the nurse to the bishop) outside Central world yesterday, I think it was a stage?... so yes, I reckon the beer garded will be back again this year...
I'm sure I overheard the Bishop saying that to the nun!?

Slowing down in the car and motioning to let someone through (it just doesn't work).

Recessed Ceiling

Hi,
I'm looking for a professional outfit who can fit a recessed ceiling for an office. It can be made of PVC, Plasterboard etc. Obviously I'm looking for a really smooth profesional fitting.
Many thanks in advance.
