Answer to yourself on 1 question, honestly. If you could make 1 person from this circus to magically disappear and calm things down in this country and let it move forward, who would that be? Honestly.
Thaksin

Suthep will never negotiate with Ban Ki Moon. He is a farang. Suthep hates farangs and does not respect them. He said so himself.
Same same as Thaksin...smoke in the pipe (the americans)

Hot heads with guns, not a good combination. The BIB need to control the confrontations, the UDD leader should never have been let through, they should do more than sit back and watch the gunfights.
Easy said, when a car comes straight at you, you will most likely move to the side...a shield is no protection.

Actually, bringing him back in the game isn't funny guys and confirms a two-faced Yingluck. Now it's time to worry about a peaceful demonstration on the 13th and the following days. I hope all of the demonstrators will be safe!

The EC today invited candidates in 33 Bangkok constituencies to an oath-taking ceremony during which they vowed to contest the election with honesty, transparency and fairness, and avoid mud-slinging and vote-buying.
Don't tell me........they all agreed...............
..."Ninety-six of 168 candidates showed up for the event"...leaving 72 candidates not taking the oath.

The Justice Minister just needs to Shut up , people will make up their own minds if they want to protest, all this rubbish of sedition and such smacks of panic , just shut up, let the people dictate there own terms , err that makes a nice change from you mob of scammers, diddling the till .
There does indeed appear to be a coordinated outpouring of panicky statements over the past few days :-
- the military are coming to town, with their tanks & artillery
- the poor won't be able to get treatments or medicines
- you'll all be arrested, for blowing a whistle
- the economy will be crashed, by the ongoing effects of the protests
- the DSI will freeze your assets
- you'll be attacked by 'third hand' parties (is that the RTP or the UDD ?)
- the rest of the World is all on the government's side
Perhaps PTP's true Big Boss is seriously worried about where these protests are now leading ?
Standby next for predictions, preferably from a respected senior religious figure, about Plagues of Locusts, Alien-invasions, Earthquakes & the End of the World ?
At least four of your panicky statements are right.
The economy is in a down spiral so yes it crashed.
The rest of the world (almost all foreign governments) are on the government side.
The military are coming to town with their tanks (for children's day)
Everybody is seriously worried about where the protest are now leading.
No statements, but fact's.
So, think before you write any comment, but that seems to be far to difficult for the Suthep lovers....
why is it so difficult to understand that's it not FOR Suthep but AGAINST Thaksin.

I am sure the gun was stolen from his car and that he didn't have it on him because he knew the rules of engagement. However it seems the protesters didn't..
The policeman himself said otherwise
the gun belongs to Pol.Col. Chukiat Wongsitthikorn, who reportedly lost his firearm as he was assaulted by anti-government protesters at the clashes around Thai-Japan Stadium on 26 December 2013.

The nsc spokesman said yesterday, that they will deploy 3k soldiers and 20k cops. Nothing new in today's statement
Quote: He said Suthep’s announcement to seize the capital and to revolt against the government was a serious crime and violation of the Criminal Act in which violator is subject to death penalty.
Threatening the protesters with the death penalty for participating in the demonstrations is!
Democracy and this kind of threat don't go well together, but than clinging to power for Mr. Thaksin needs extraordiany measures, I guess.

IMO reds will not come into Bangkok because they will be outnumbered massively
They came to Rajamangala and had to retreat in less that 24 hours. If the reds roll into Bkk again they will get the same welcome .. none.... 10K 20K even 50K can come on down ... will still be outnumbered.
If 75% of the Bangkok electorate do not have the vote in Bangkok just which side do you suppose they will support?
Are you saying that 75 % living in Bangkok are from the North and North East and all of them are Thaksin fans? You must be joking or dreaming....

Quote: Mr Natthawut urged those who join the rally to not put on red shirts as the campaign will be driven by eligible voters wanting to cast their votes.
Does that mean the days of the red shirts movement are finally over?

So at least they are admitting that in fact there isn't any money left to pay the farmers.

As a Thaksin , UDD , Red Shirts suporter , I simply say Please , Please Stay At Home !!!
You will do the government cause no good . Let the PDRC rent a mob cause trouble by themselves .
1. As a Thaksin , UDD , Red Shirts suporter , I simply say Please , Please Stay At Home !!! They won't
2. You will do the government cause no good . Let the PDRC rent a mob cause trouble by themselves . They won't
and that's the difference between the 2 groups

Well, for selfish reasons, I would very much enjoy another (peaceful) coup, like the last one When the military was in power, there were hardly any police roadblocks and it was a pleasure to ride my bike everywhere, without paying the "road tax". As an added bonus, they actually did some road construction up here, which of course turned to S*&t, as soon as Thaksin's puppet got in and all the road construction money, was used to line peoples fat pockets again.
I would much rather see a benevolent dictatorship, than a useless, so-called democracy anyways.
Personally, I would like to see the military in power, with the King, as the head of State. That way, we would get rid of hundreds of politicians and their aids and cronies, who have their hands in everybody's pockets. (I am talking about both sides, not just Thaksin)
I would like to remind everyone here that until Thaksin came to power n'er a penny or a baht was spent in Chiang Mai, the North and the Northeast were wastelands and no political party paid attention to the plight of the farmers. No electricity in my village in Sansai until 1986,no telephones until 1994 and no water until 2004. Ask yourselves why? and then try to understand that the only person, the only person who ever gave them anything was Thaksin, how sad of you not to remember or if you are ignorant about the situation or didn't realize that it was that bad just close your mouth and let the locales get on with their ballet.
Thaksin founded the Thai Rak Thai (TRT) party in 1998 and became Prime Minister of Thailand from 2001 until 2006. So are you sure it was him who brought electricity in 1986 and telephones in 1994 to that village?

Quote Jatuporn: "The PCAD′s shutdown of Bangkok amounts to taking Thailand and Thai people hostages." It would lead to division and a civil war," Mr. Jatupon, the UDD leader, said in a press conference today at Imperial Ladprao shopping mall.
Back in 2010: The Red Shirts shutdown of Bangkok amounts to taking Thailand and Thai people hostages. (3 months)
That was ok Mr. Jatuporn?

Hm, and with the arrival of the read shirts on the same day, the damage will most likely get much higher. Therefore, will the caretaker government ask them (their very own supporters) to stay home? I believe not!

"He said he had already conveyed his concern to the government and insisted that caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has the authority to postpone the election."
And she says she hasn't the authority... Someone is clearly wrong here.
She has no authority since her brother said there will be an election. End of story...

Nice suggestion to use army and police premises , but does this fall within the authority of the EC? Also with "noting that using army or police premises could lead to losses" the CAPO chief seems to suggest the EC take a route which may lead to more violence.
Puzzling attitude from a CAPO chief and not-so-caretaking deputy prime minister/foreign minister
Not really puzzling, he and his T-party want to force the election by all means.

Don't worry the present command are not going to be driven by their retired generals. Time has moved on the Military are more sensitive to Thailand's position in the World today. The Military will not be guided by an irrelevant minority.
...like the Shin clan?

Khun Yingluck just don't want to be hold responsible for saying me, myself and I want the election to be carried out (because my brother told me so). Instead she is again and again hiding behind other people...Be it the parliament, the MP's, forums aso.
When will she ever take responsibility...
