  1. My wife has a young brother, win the lottery and have to go. He was not happy when he leave his family. Now he learn to repair wehicles and planning to open a small bussiness to repair cars and big machinestuff and he said is not so bad that

he think it was. And Thailand need a strong army to fight the muslims in south.

  2. I am living on the island of Koh Phangan in probably the most inaccesible place, 2 kilometers of dirt track up a steep hill connected to a another dirt track which is 8 kilometes of ups and downs to the nearest concrete road village.

Then you have to live in Than sadet or bottle beach. The road you talking about are heavy an will kill any 4x4 quikly. You can see that all bungalowowner rebuild their car specially to fits the crazy roads. A friend bought a landrover, but he had big problem to find parts. I know two farangs who bought armyjeeps, looks like a willy but im not sure. This is the car for your dirtroads and is very cheap. If you know a policeman or someone from army they can help you to buy one. You can also asked the monks in the temple in Chalouklaam (they have a jeep you can borrow for free). We use to borrow this when we make huts up in the jungle. Can use nearly everywhere. A small donation to the temple, maybe they can helped you to find one. The temple gets them free from the army.

  3. This kind of ownership have been done for years. He owned the house, not the land. If he make a woodenhouse, it will not last for 30 year. If he make a house by bricks he can't move it. It's sounds to me like someone have a lot of land for lease in Pattaya.

  4. I have a heartattack and have to change 3 main bloodvessel to the heart. First a small surgery (2days) to find where the problem was and then straight up to the surgeryroom. All together 2 weeks 265k. I was insured by Norwegian govervment untill January 1 2003. After that they stop health care to pensions. My heart attack

was feb3 2003, but after a couple of phones back to the office of pension abroad, they cover my bill. If I still want to have same insurance from my government, cover up to 15k a day, I have to pay 60k a year. Have problem to find a resonable healt insurance after a heart attack. A viking with good health should find a better one in LOS than in Norway.

  5. About 5 years I transfer money (THB) to krung thai every month. They used to charged me 250 baht. The last few months they start charged me 750. I tried to ask krung Thai in Udon Thani, but they can not give me an answerd, becuse my account is in Samui. A phone to samui dont helped me anything, just told me to come to the bank. 750 for put money in my account, 20 bath everytime I used ATM. Should i find another bank?

  7. This is nail in the coffin for Samui

They will over build Samui so much nobody will want to come there!

they dont know when they got a good thing

Thai's dont have a clue what they are doing to the environment I am sorry to say.

Money is the God here too.

This is the nail in the coffin for Koh Pha ngan too. Government want to build a new airport an a lots of road so the tourist can explore the "amazing" nature in the Island.

Where will the tourists find the "amazing" nature after airplane and roads.

About Samui, they not have enough water to supply all the hotels and resorts, and used airplane to drop tons of chemical to make rain. May be Samui have to figure out their wateproblem first.

  8. Thaksin have now blocked some websides for Soccerbetting. If I use money from my bank in europe, betting in UK, keep the money in europe(If I win), but used my PC in Thailand for placing the bet. Is it still not legal? If a webside is blocked by Thai government, is it a smart way to open the webside in Thailand? :o

  9. Plenty nordmenn her i Thailand. Jeg har ikke peiling på hvor mange som bruker Thai visa. De fleste nordmenn bor i Pattaya og Bangkok. Jeg har vært her siden 1978, gift to ganger, trett av Pattaya. For mye drikking i pattaya, fikk hjerteinfarkt

og lever nu rolig i Isan med min andre kone. Tror jeg flytter til Nongkhai eller loei

    etter jul.

  10. My old landlady planted lemon grass ariound our houses when I found a king cobra in the bathroom one time ingesting a gecko. Not sure how effective it is but we never saw another one :o . Anyone else heard of lemongrass being an effective cobra repellent???

The best way to keep the snake away is a dog. I am more afraid a centipede. A snake will seldom attack you, but a centipede is f#### aggresive and the most paintfull creature in Thailand. Keep a few chicken in your garden and they clean your garden for centipede, scorpion, spiders and other unwanted crawling animal. The chicken love it!

  11. How they gonna know what was in the envelope marked EMS?

    Take your word for it?

EMS is Express Mail Service and provides receipt. The receipt shows letter address (90 day reporting). What else would be in it. :o

EMS is not required. Registered mail is much cheaper and provides the same receipt proof.

Last time i went to suan plu for 90 days report they told me I can report by post I was happy, don't have go to Bangkok for report. I asked what happend if the letter is lost. Dont worry Your adress is on the slip when you send by registered

post and we can see what date the post was send. If immigration not recieve your letter they contact you, you go to Bangkok show them the slip and they will let you do the report in Bangkok, give you a new slip in your passport and next time you can report by post again. Idon't think so many "farang" will lost they letter. Since 1978 I lost only one registerd post and post office find it after 3 weeks.

  12. When you get the slip back they stamp a date on it, I send my stuff a week before.

Send it EMS then if it gets lost you can prove the date you sent it.

so easy I can't understand why so many have problem to report. Like you say just send them the slip and all the copies. If send by EMS or registerd post, they can not give you a fine because you are late.

  13. I've been coming to Thailand for 15 years and walked everywhere, even spent a day in the rice fields chopping and tying up the bundles and didn't see as much as a spider. The only place I've ever seen a snake in Thailand is in a snake farm.

I wonder whats wrong with you, the silly walking or the smell. It is snakes all over Thailand. After I moved to Isan I see snakes in my garden at least once a week, and I live in the city

One day I came home, it was a bunch of thais in my garden and I think something has to be wrong. It was a couple of days before lotteriday and a big cobra stayed in my carport. The thais told me this was good luck and they want to betting money on the housenumber or the carnumber. I kill the snake and I kill every snake i find ind my garden. 1000 dead snake is better than my baby killed by a snake.

But after I get a small angry mini pincher it is better. I don't know if he kill them, but many times he come with a small dead snake and he is a good alarm when there is snake in my garden.
