  1. Thanks - that makes sense.
  2. See diagram re supply to 6+6 rooms in 2 seperate buildings. Should there be MEN links in Control Box B and CUs B1-B6? To explain, Electrician has made MEN links in Control Box A and all Consumer Units A1 to A6 (1 CU per room). Control Box B just added by new electrician but he didn't make a MEN link in it nor in the CUs B1-B6. Both Control Boxes have their own earth rod and the boxes and rods are 20 meters apart. Should there be MEN links in Control Box B and/or CUs B1-6 ? Thanks.
  3. Ideally in Pattaya area or Bangkok where you can check the material before buying.
  4. My bad, they are MCBs in the distribution board, not RCDs. For the new rooms 11-13 assume best not to have E-N connected in the 3 consumer units?
  5. Thanks, but what do you mean by upstream of the link (which link?). All the CUs have RCDs, and a few rooms have shower units with built in RCBOs (or is that downstream?). The distribution board has RCDs which act as kill-switches for the live supply to each room.
  6. Thanks Crossy. See attached sketch - existing building has 10 rooms, all with their own consumer unit, and each consumer units has the earth connected to the neutral, so your comment is a bit of a concern. Should these N-E connections be removed? I don't think there is a N-E connection in the distribution board but will take a photo (by distribution board I mean where the main feed comes in and then the live and neutrals get passed to each room. The earths for rooms 1-10 connect to a MET in the distribution board). For the new rooms (11-13) a second earth rod needs to be used since they are 20m away from the first earth rod. These 3 rooms are also closer to the main meter, so plan is to connect to it again. I sketched out the intended earth connections based on your earlier comment - all 3 earths connecting in room 11 consumer unit.
  7. Thanks - good point. In the house on the same site (which has its own earth rod some 20 meters away from this earth rod) the neutral and earth are connected in its consumer unit, so I assumed same would be required here?
  8. Is this proposal by my electrician ok - 3 rooms-for-rent, each with their own consumer unit, and each with their own live supply and neutral. For the earth, does each consumer unit need to have its own independent earth (so 3 cables will connect to the earth rod) or is it ok for them to be connected to one cable which runs to the earth rod, like in this diagram? Thanks.
  9. Need to replace on my Mitsubishi WP. Any experience of third party brands - I see mitsustar and parno online? Or better to go oem (it did last 15 years). Thanks.
  10. Thanks- I thought that was the residence book mentioned, but reading it again, the residence book will be the yellow/blue book.
  11. It's been a couple if years since I last did the re-entry endorsement. Was looking on website for requirements - what is #4 ? Assume I can do the endorsement at Pattaya even though my address is Bangkok? Thanks.
