  1. As I recall, there was a prior case here not too long back of a similar episode of balcony love making going wrong (if that's actually what occurred here...) And in that prior one, of course, it also was the woman who ended up going off the edge.
  2. No Evidence Excess Deaths Linked to Vaccines, Contrary to Claims Online Posted on April 17, 2023 SciCheck Digest "Excess deaths among working-age adults in 2021 and 2022 were driven by COVID-19 and other factors, not vaccination. Faulty logic underlies claims that vaccines caused mass disability and economic harm." ... "Dowd has repeatedly said that COVID-19 vaccines are causing large numbers of deaths, claims that have been debunked by other fact-checkers." https://www.factcheck.org/2023/04/scicheck-no-evidence-excess-deaths-linked-to-vaccines-contrary-to-claims-online/
  3. The Landmark is doing a major remodel right now of their various ground floor commercial areas... Don't know that that's directly impacting their rooms... But the whole front of the hotel is boarded up right now... And I'm not sure they're in the OP's requested price range, anyway.
  4. "Roughly 180 potentially vaccine-related deaths have been reported to federal authorities since the COVID inoculation was first rolled out, but only four have so far been found to be likely linked to the shot, according to a December report from the country’s Centre for Adverse Reactions Monitoring, which collects and evaluates reports of adverse drug reactions." https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-covid-vaccines-new-zealand-949096630073 There's your "horrendous trend" -- FOUR.
  5. "officials and experts say the culprit isn’t COVID-19 vaccines. Rebekah Hennessey, an analyst with Stats NZ, said a significant factor is the nation’s growing but aging population. ... The pandemic itself was the other key driver. Around 2,400 of all deaths last year were attributable to COVID-19, Stats NZ said in its Feb. 20 release, citing national health data." https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-covid-vaccines-new-zealand-949096630073 The AP report appears to be using calendar year data for New Zealand deaths comparing calendar 2022 with various prior years.
  6. I'm guessing what you're insinuating here, since you posted this in the COVID subforum... But the topic has already been previously addressed in the news, per the following fact check report from the AP: Deaths rise in New Zealand due to COVID, demographic shifts "CLAIM: New Zealand is seeing its biggest increase in deaths in a century because of the coronavirus vaccine. AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. Government officials and experts in New Zealand say the rise in deaths last year is the result of the country’s first true wave of COVID-19 infections, which follow the lifting of the strict lockdown policy maintained during the first two years of the pandemic. They also say the country’s aging population is playing a role." https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-covid-vaccines-new-zealand-949096630073
  7. Ahh... no, I didn't read your prior email that way... So, you're suggesting a "report by email" method.... similar to the current report by postal mail or report online/via website methods.... I could go for that....if they were to offer it. Kind of a half-way tech approach between postal mail and their automated, server-based web portal. Only question is... is anyone at Immigration still managing their AOL email account??? ????
  8. Priced for the same Dec. 19-20 dates I mocked up above, it's a bit beyond the price ranges of 2-3K baht range requested by the OP... And the lower priced rooms are 30 sq mt. The Centre Point above has rooms in his price range in the 40 - 55 sq mt range. The Radisson Suites has rooms in his price range that are 40 sq mt. The Maitria Suk 18 has rooms in his price range in the 35 to 46 sq mt. range.
  9. In terms of pricing, you got to be careful around the Christmas to New Year's week (depending on when exactly you mean by "late Dec", as that's prime tourist travel time and the hotels likely will be hiking their prices for that period. Per your request, I mocked up a reservation on Agoda for some good quality, highly rated, centrally located, convenient to transit hotels within your price range, for a hypothetical Dec. 19-20 stay -- with the pricing IF you were to make the reservation today. These are just some examples: Examples:
  10. Brilliant! And keeping entirely in character!
  11. When I used the Immigration website to file my 90-day report online to BKK CW last week, as usually occurs with them, I got an automated email within 24 hours confirming that they had RECEIVED my submission.... So, what you're suggesting already occurs with BKK CW.
  12. No... Pib... I think you meant to say, from now on, the floor fan will be plugged in directly to the wall socket! ???? Priorities are priorities, after all!
  13. That's the way it OUGHT to be... but.... In the past, I believe, Immigration at least some cases basically has said, if you don't get a confirmation back from us for whatever reason, it's YOUR responsibility to go and get one thru one means or another. I don't know specifically if that's occurred when their online system croaks. But I believe in the past, they've taken that attitude when people have their EMS receipt showing they mailed in their 90-day report within the required timeframe, but never got the confirmation back in the mail for whatever reason. Today, I sent a 2nd 90-day report in via EMS mail (keeping the tracking receipt and a photo of the envelope with it), a week ahead of my actual reporting deadline, and a week AFTER I did the online version. So we'll see what happens now.
  14. I put a "sad" emoticon on your post.... Not a comment on your post itself... But instead, a "sad" comment on the situation that you recounted going on at BKK CW Immigration.... Yeesh!
  15. Immigration 90-day reporting website remains down as of 7:35 pm tonight / Tuesday. Presumably they're done for today at this hour. Had a whole working day back after the long holiday weekend. Seemingly, they were unable to solve whatever's gone wrong.
  16. I filed online a week ago today as well, successfully in terms of submitting my filing. No action other than "pending" since then.
  17. House Speaker McCarthy and Rep. Jim Jordan predictably seem to have the right idea for his bunch: "House Speaker Kevin McCarthy accused President Joe Biden of weaponizing the government against Trump, and attacked Willis, claiming she brought the indictment in an effort “to fundraise her political career.” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) also came to the former president’s defense. “Today’s indictment is just the latest political attack in the Democrats’ WITCH HUNT against President Trump,” Jordan, who heads the House Judiciary Committee wrote on X. “He did nothing wrong!” https://www.politico.com/news/2023/08/15/trump-reaction-political-opponents-indictment-00111221
  18. Indeed... From the OP: "The number of FamilyMart branches in Thailand has declined drastically from 1,135 in 2017 to 409 in 2023. In contrast, its primary business rival, 7-Eleven, has more than 13,000 branches."
  19. With all the other racketeering-related counts Trump and Co. are already facing in GA, you'd have to wonder whether the DA there would want to try to add the tampering charge to the list.... if all Trump did was to suggest in a post that the person not testify... But, to me, it's equally interesting that the judge who is assigned to handle the Georgia case could consider "tampering" allegations in deciding what amount of bail, or whether to grant bail, when Trump shows up in court.
  20. From the AP, including some of the many others charged: "Other defendants include former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows; Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani; and a Trump administration Justice Department official, Jeffrey Clark, who advanced the then-president’s efforts to undo his election loss in Georgia. Multiple other lawyers who devised legally dubious ideas aimed at overturning the results, including John Eastman, Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro, were also charged. ... She also said she plans to ask for a trial date within six months and that she intends to try the defendants as a group." https://apnews.com/article/trump-georgia-election-investigation-grand-jury-willis-d39562cedfc60d64948708de1b011ed3
  21. Fox News, quoting from the Georgia indictment: "Defendant Donald John Trump lost the United States presidential election held on November 3, 2020.... "Trump and the other Defendants charged in this Indictment refused to accept that Trump lost, and they knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump. That conspiracy contained a common plan and purpose to commit two or more acts of racketeering activity in Fulton County, Georgia, elsewhere in the State of Georgia, and in other states." https://www.foxnews.com/politics/georgia-district-attorney-gives-trump-others-until-aug-25-noon-surrender
  22. Recap: Donald Trump indicted on 2020 election fraud charges in Georgia Charges include the use of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, known as RICO, which penalizes activities of individuals engaging in organized crime. ... "Trump and the others named in the 98-page indictment have until noon on Friday, Aug. 25, to voluntarily surrender. ... Willis said she would seek a trial "in the next six weeks" but scheduling is up to the appointed judge." [other sources including the AP are saying her comment was six MONTHS.] https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/08/14/trump-indictment-live-updates/70187751007/
  23. When the "other guy" is facing criminal charges in four separate cases like Trump is, then you'll have something meaningful to talk about. Trump’s fourth indictment moves America closer to an election precipice "The charges in this state case – which bring to 91 the total number of criminal charges he’s facing across four separate cases – intensified an already epochal collision between Trump’s now extreme legal quagmire and the 2024 election in which he is the front-runner for the Republican nomination." https://edition.cnn.com/2023/08/15/politics/trump-fourth-indictment-2024-election/index.html
  24. Trump Suggested A Witness ‘Shouldn’t’ Testify In Georgia’s Grand Jury Proceedings—Critics Say That’s Witness Intimidation Former President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, his social media platform, on Monday saying Georgia’s former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan “shouldn’t” testify in grand jury proceedings this week regarding allegations that Trump attempted to overturn the 2020 election results in the state—and some legal analysts are saying the post could be witness intimidation or tampering. ... George Conway—an attorney and separated husband of former Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway—and former U.S. attorney Barbara McQuade both took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to call the post “witness tampering,” with McQuade saying it was “witness tampering in real time.” Ryan Goodman, former special counsel in the Department of Defense, tweeted a screenshot of Trump’s post alongside a screenshot of a Georgia law requiring that a judge find the defendant “poses no significant risk of intimidating witnesses” before approving bail.
