    Back in the 80's, I once had a pair of expensive Timberland sandals swiped at a temple in Bangkok. I was really pissed off. Someone loaned me a pair of rubber flip flops until I could get another pair of shoes.

    Yes, this is what they did with a friend of mine who died in Pattaya of kidney failure. His daughter came over from the US, had him cremated at a local temple, half his ashes went in Pattaya bay, the other half she took back home with her. Very sensible.

    I agree.. the six years I spent as a monk in Thailand, I found way too many of these monks fondling young boys. Whenever I saw it happening, I got right in their face, sometimes almost coming to physical confrontation.
