  1. They must have x-ray glasses as they do seem to see you are buckled up or not.

Okay, so one must buckle up in the interior seats (if the car is supposed to have seatbelts)

and the lot in the back of the pick-up, sometimes 12 or more, are just seated on a small plank and the car doing 100 km/hr on the highway.

The checkpoints are ok with me if checking for helmets and faulty cars, but the excess of today is just money distortion.

Got stopped having helmet on. Hmm, have driver liscense? yes. Have street tax paid? yes. Have tabien? yes. 3 to 4 ways they want to give you a fine. This really sucks to me. Is this about road safety...no...money. And if one takes a daily route to Makro and pass the checkpoint when turning left, it's a drag you get stopped almost every two days. Yikes.

Ok, if Thai/farang don't wear a helmet, then pay, but if you forgot your papers or whatever, 200 to 400 Baht is a too high price for Thai IMO. Ok, hit them in the pocket...would they finally learn...nah.

  2. Ham -bone in- from Rimping is very good. Do you really need 10 kg? Have them slice off what you needand probably pay the same price or a little more and not have the bone.

Wonder if Makro sells whole hams; never saw them. Not to say they have good ham at all!

Have seen the whole ham at Big C sometimes.

  3. When police take over traffic lights at around 16:00 it only seems to get worse.

What's the use of letting people wait for about 5 mins befor they get green.

If traffic lights were to change quicker it would IMO reduce the number of red light crossers.

A shorter green might even get the Thai drivers to move on a little quicker so that more people get green. Oh, what the heck. No need to think about improvements and educating drivers; TIT.

My thoughts for a bottle of whisky.

  4. Nice info, but where is Thoeng Road.

I live soi 22 somewhere else fyi.

So tired of checking in what forum I am when TV shows best topics.

So sorry, more my fault or TV's.

  5. Probably no one have knowledge of ice cream making.

There is a 'cooking' proces involved and since alcohol vapourizes quickly at about 70 degrees C up, there will hardly be any alcohol left after the proces.

This said, the FDA in Thailand don't allow any percentage of alcohol in products such as these, cookies, soups or you name it. Absolute a NO.

I agree though that presenting a beer ice cream screams for attacks and protesters as there must be beer in so also alcohol. Bad move of Chang in my view. Might even be 'Malt' acohol free beer, but still.

  6. Ok, no problem. I think a Papa/Mama combination like this works out pretty well.

Had a Phone number of a likewise couple here in CNX. Pitty I lost their number when I lost my cell Phone.

All tiles they did in a house I checked were set solid. No air pockets at all.

  7. You might say I had it with Thai internet.

If they sr#w each other (providers and CAT)they might as well sr@w their customers. TIT

You can change providers and think you are happy for the first weeks and then it seems like they treat you like the rest does; stupid income flodder..

I know it was said before on TV, they mostly wave you away with their ping and transfer rates, but that only counts as far as Bangkok.

Routine answers is what you get when complaining and switching from one to the other provider doesn't seem to bother them much. It's the same all over it seems.

You might say, get an upgraded subsription, but that doesn't heal the wound. Even if I was to pay double, they could never assure me having good international internet travel.

FYI I had TT&T. TOT, TOT with upgraded tel. lines, True wireless and it ends up all the same.

What good does it do when you cannot even stream a simple broadcast. Do they want you to upgrade to 1000-1200 baht subscription?

    Your idea's?

  8. TIT, companies, foodstalls, bars and you name it, they come and they go. Never trusted that guy at Meechock Chiang Mai and now for once I probably made the right decision to stay with my (car) insurrance AIOI.

    Nothing is perfect.

Hope you didn't get ripped of.

  9. Just 2day renewed both motorbike and car driver license.

Second time for a 5 year extension, so what do you know?

    Some surprises though.

    Had to do color test.

Had to do a 'training session' by computer. Lasted one hour. No further questions asked.

No need for bringing your own pics. They have their computer photograph and immediate printing on the license system.

    Medical cert. needed.

Certificate of residence required or work permit. Dunno about yellow book.

More money than befor. Motorbike 305 Baht and car 505 Baht. Duh?

And of course the old licenses.

So, at least for Chiang Mai, Thaivisa info needs some updating.

  10. Sahapanich SP at the Chang Puak crossing going to Mae Rim.

Before Toyota take U turn. They have 'wet' shavers from Philips.

Thought reasonable prices, but dunno this moment about US/Europe prices
