  1. Look the other way This is bloody shameful, No money to be made
  2. Sattahip District Office is bound by Law to ensure the Safety of its workers, The primary law governing this is the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Act B.E. 2554 (2011). An employer who violates the OSHE Act can be punished by imprisonment for up to 1 year and/or a fine of up to THB 400,000, depending on the specific nature of the violation Sattahip District Office again is bound by Law to have A safety officer what did he do ??? he should have overseen ALL the safety protocol This is an Absolutely shameful Display of lack of care and safety by the Sattahip District Office
  3. This is a very bad worded Article The subcontractors continue working despite not receiving payments due to contractual obligations preventing work stoppages under any circumstances. Non-payment is not considered a breach justifying work suspension or contract termination. Any legal disputes would need to be resolved in Singapore under English law. It does Not says who the Main Contractor is Singapore contractor ??? and why under English Law their is a lot more to the story
  4. Well it will be business as usual nothing will be heard of again
  5. Bus company's By Thai Law are supposed to have a Safety officer What is this guy doing he is the one ultimately responsible
  6. Agree but also Note these are only guidelines NOT mandatory can be ignored
  7. Think that needs to change especially with kids involved, again this is lack of enforcement and training Schools are the perfect place for kids to be aware of safety
  8. Going to look very bad for Thailand seat on the United Nations Human Rights Council,
  9. All very well but this is going off topic I wonder why Thai hospitals have ISO certification and schools don't By implementing ISO 45001:2018 certification, you receive proof of your organizations ongoing commitment to the health and safety. do schools have a safety officer ??
  10. I think you were lucky to find a RTP who new the Law, in my experience they just blatantly do not want to their job, take the easy way out
  11. Has none of them been Arrested ?? Arrest warrants issued Why the RTP not carrying out there duty, they should be sitting in a cell waiting for court date rather than hoping they will turn up
  12. yes you will have to write-off Thailand as another 3rd World S**thole. No concept of safety just the knee jerk reaction BAN, CNG fuel they don't think that it maybe the system of maintenance, Inspection, corruption lack of Training, lack of education in safety just ban CNG problem solved !!! Yes get the RTP out every day BUT They are just as bad no training in safety, Safety education should be taught in schools and at the workplace Thailand has a comprehensive legal framework in place to ensure health and safety. The primary law governing this is the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Act B.E. 2554 (2011). This law outlines the responsibilities of both employers and employees, mandates hazard prevention and risk control measures, and requires the establishment of safety committees for larger businesses. The Department of Labor Protection and Welfare (DLPW) is the primary body responsible for health and safety in Thailand. The DLPW has labor inspectors who conduct inspections and enforce safety regulations. Where are theses Inspectors?? Why are they not doing there job?? Why are these safety Regulations not being enforced ??
  13. Now that is a stupid comment, LNG if used in a safe Manner and in a properly maintained vehicle there is no problem, And why just ban LNG what about the other gases CNG NVG LPG ban them all, think you would have a riot on your hand if you ban LPG would be no snack bar
  14. yes leaking but when !!! nobody will know, again no safety protocols no training
  15. yes just go on the web site make appointment and do the test no big deal
  16. wonder if they would say that if there kid is dying on the road after a accident
  17. Safety rope ?? are these bloody idiots, why was the guy not wearing fall protection do these company's know anything about safety The Sattahip District Office, should have ensured the workers safety whether he was a contractor or not. Its not rocket science Risk assessment Identify the hazard slip, trip, fall, remove the hazard Wear Appropriate Clothing and Footwear. ... Assess Weather Conditions. ... Secure the Tools You'll Use. ... Always Have Another Person Present. ... Assess Roof Condition. ... Use a Proper Roof Ladder (Not a Wooden Ladder) ... Wear a Roof Harness. ... Walk With Your Arms Out on a Steep Roof.
  18. yes i know the law but i can not understand your post!! your point being !! the list is jobs reserved for Thais but you forget the Thai definition of work used by the labour ministry is The term “work” in Thai law is defined very broadly, covering both physical and mental activities, whether or not for wages or other form of compensation. so by definition you would need a work permit making jewelry out of platinum and repairing repairing/ rebuilding 2 bamboo chairs but as i have said check with the labour ministry they have softened over the years but as it stands that is the Law its another thing for them to enforce the Law but that another question please do your research I will try to put it simply : Technically you would need a Work permit for a Lot of things around the house Expats do And That is the Law !! the average Thai does not care what a expat does But there is still a lot of Thais who don't like Expats those are the ones who would drop you in it to the labour ministry because you Technically broke the Law, so if you want to work without a work permit up to you
  19. You know this is a Thailand forum NOT UK I was asking the question in regard to Thailand not the UK so the question is NOT rubbish !!
  20. Yes they made a big thing about the point system but then Nothing No enforcement
  21. correct the word "guidelines " are as just as it says Guidelines Not mandatory can be ignored the word should have been "Shall" which is mandatory "YOU must comply"
  22. Thais might think a little bit more about the consequences of their actions if they were hit with huge law suits or prison sentences, but that doesn't happen either. I don't necessarily agree with overly-litigious societies like the United States, but the threat of a huge law suit at least makes people think about the possible consequences of their actions.
  23. yes tend to agree !!its shameful
