And, where did you buy these ?

A friend is highly recommending these as sleep aids. My impression is quality/potency may vary from vendor to vendor. If the better quality/purity is online order, can do that.

... just may well be 'Old Women' masquerading as residents.
AFAIK, everyone here is masquerading as somebody, or something, else.
I find it difficult to figure out who, or what, I am masquerading as at any given moment, as I read posts on this forum ... even more difficult to locate where, and when, I am, and how I got here from whatever there was.
I'm not complaining: I love living in (whatever) Chiang Mai; I think these fluctuations of identity/reality are one of the key features that make me feel so at home here.
There's a simple practice that helps me really enjoy each day here: stand in front of a mirror when you wake up, and repeat the mantra: "gajok gohok" (Thai words for mirror and liar) until the you that appears in the mirror is what feels right.
This practice helps develop the inner chameleon and the attitude suggested by Groucho Marx: 'Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others'

Chiang Mai changed/changing ? Of course: other than in old photographs, what city or area hasn't changed in ten or twenty years ? With aging, what eyeballs have not changed; what modes of perception have not changed ? What memories have not been reshaped by both trauma, and revelation, by dreams fulfilled, and dreams crushed ?
As I have pondered the frequency of these posts which suggest memories of Chiang Mai as a personal "garden of Eden," now lost, I have found it helpful to meditate on the work by the German researcher Dr. David Stromberg, which I had the pleasure and horror of hearing presented live by the author himself in 2015.
Stromberg's "Farang Grandosity Syndrome" (FGS) has continued to be a useful tool in understanding some of the types of farang who choose to be here ... of course, we must use the word "choose" with caution ... for a set of certain mid-life-train-wreck (primarily) males who make a great deal of noise about themselves online (in this forum, and elsewhere), they were drawn to Amazing Thailand as if shipwrecked on Circe's island, awakening half-drowned in a lush paradise where they could, thanks to the sorceress' wine, have the adolescence they never had while turning into ... swine.
Here are the notes I took: Stromberg's FGS

There are so many types of cancer, with so many different etiologies, varying symptoms, prognosis, treatment modalities, etc., that a "cancer support group" ... well, what did you have in mind ?
The realities and needs and concerns of people just diagnosed, or staged, are really different than the realities of those being treated and dealing with chemo, radiation, and/or surgery, facing limits to mobility and health.
And, the needs and concerns of people post-treatment struggling to resume their former ways of life, possibly deaking with relapse: different.
I once worked for the American Cancer Society as a field-researcher, interviewing 40 families where each family had more than person with cancer. Transcribing those interviews ... taught me to avoid generalities about "cancer."
A famous essay by scientist Stephen J. Gould, "The Median is not the Message:" has helped many people think more clearly about diagnosis, prognosis, and "survival/recurrence" statistics: Gould's Essay
imho, a "support group" has to have institutional sponsorship and support, and has to have limits on the types of clientele to have any chance for cohesion. I exclude here groups based on some religious/addiction recovery, etc,. agenda,
Support groups for families of people with cancer have been very effective.

Once upon a time in Amazing Chiang Mai, movies, and tv series, etc., in these formats, were plentiful at places like Pornthip Plaza, a big shop near Maharaj hospital/Suan Dok on Thanon Suthep.
I used to find some classic movies and foreign films ... not the bang-bang-hyper-macho trash shown on various ISP tv services.
Shut down by BIB ? Gone out of business ? Everyone ponied up for Prime or NetFlix ? Covid made everyone too tired to watch anything but cartoons ?

Don't these hospitals ask you if you've had 3 jabs, and, if so, are they willing to give another one ?

If "lady friend" is a Thai national she can use PayPal to receive funds ... if she registers the business ... which means tax people may have access to her income.
Search on his forum for information/speculation on alternatives like Stripe.

I assume a major purpose of this virtual shut-down for non-Thai citizens is to prevent non-Thais from doing business w/o reporting income and paying taxes.

I heard some of the staff, like Khun Sombat, the very helpful person who dealt with expat fuancial matters, went to the Chang Phueak Gate branch. I have not verified this.

Years ago, in the small Soi just west of/behind the (old) Montri Hotel at Pratu Thapae was an all woman's tailor shop that did wonderful work, including custom tailoring for menswear.
Appreciate if you have any information about where those folks may be now, or other recommendations for custom tailoring (in this case curtains with a backing material).

Check out the bulletin boards outside places like the Rimping Nawarat store (across from Iron Bridge) for ads in English.

"to understand the phone, the underlying Android OS, the phone's specifications, and it's ability to be rooted."
Hi, There are loads of video tutorials on-line that can "orient" you re Android OS, also, reviews and more for any specific name brand/ model number "smart" phone.
"my eye-sight and fine-motor skills are lacking, I don't want any expensive, bulky, large-screen Adroid phone. I don't use a Smart Phone enough to warrant the extra expense."
Then, why a "smart" phone ? Get a "simple" phone with no internet or camera with a large display and big buttons.
good luck, !o:37;

But I'm wondering where 'cultured' fits into the situation.
"Cultured" in this case means an educated, intelligent, modern, feminist, woman, I care for.
I do not want to expose her to the possible locations of the pathetic losers who turn every thread on this forum into a troll involving prostitution.

By respectable, I mean not a place where men go for ... uhhh ... financial liposuction, and other "extras."
A quiet, clean, not crowded, place ? Where a weary traveler can recover from 30 hours of international travel ?
And, I mean "nuwat boran" massage, as taught in the famous school in Wat Pho, and its branches.
To complicate: while there are lots of hi-so spas for women here, they are very pricy ... is there such a thing as a spa with traditional massage and some other relaxing procedures ... for under 1000 baht for a package ?
An obvious choice is the Traditional medicine clinic/school on Thippanet Road: is that still open ?
I appreciate your suggestions !

Testing for Uric Acid is a primary test, but, in diagnosing joint specific flares, or whatever, a doc may be required to use a needle to extract synovial fluid for analysis.
I use CMF Lab: CMF Lab Charoen Brathet So1 12 very friendly people, reasonable prices.
Colchicine is a very powerful medicine, high toxicity with overuse, that interacts with many other drugs: imho, should only be used under medical supervision.
