As required by the government according to all reports and explanations provide by PPT reps.   Where are you getting your information that the information provided by PPT is wrong?

It just can't be possible the Thai Government would force a Fintech company to use the services of a private company for account verification. Now if that's what PPT is telling you then I am not surprised they've botched this up. In fact it's been a mess since the beginning of the year when they 1st said only registered companies could have accounts.

"Regulatory changes" is just PayPal's excuse. They've simply been inept at working out a feasible procedure with the regulator.

TrueMoney and DeeMoney, on the other hand, also had to revise their KYC process due to those very changes. They did that in a way that still allows foreigners to use their services (!) - you just need to supply additional documents to satisfy the new requirements.

It's shameful that a well-established global player such as PayPal failed to find competent staff in Thailand that is able to cut through those minor bureaucratic challenges. What else will they screw up post transition?

Exactly Paypal Thailand would have you believe they have no choice but to close down foreigners accounts but there are other options to verify accounts as with TrueMoney and DeeMoney but they just can't be bothereed,

"Because the Law would never require or force a Financial company to use a private company in this case National Digital Co., Ltd for account verification..."

Really?  How come it did, then?

It didn't! Paypal is just using the services of the private company National Digital Co., Ltd for account verification.

Well, many of us have commented on this site about the emails they have been receiving over the past year about this. Strange that you haven't received any. Is the email contact address you gave them still valid?

PayPal have stated very clearly in their emails why they are taking the steps they are, more than once.

Yes I have received Emails from Paypal no problem there

But what I mean is I have never received Emails from Paypal "stated very clearly" why they have chosen to only use the NDID system for account verification.

I am not Thai but I do have an id number (pink card).

It was rejected as not a valid Thai number.

This is not PayPal's fault. It is the 'we are in control' Thai government making the rules.

Paypal are required by Thai Law to verify accounts and Paypal has chosen to use NDID system because it's the simplest for them but only supports Thai ID's. They could manually verify accounts if they wanted.

PayPal have stated very clearly in their emails why they are taking the steps they are, more than once. They did discuss with the Thai government over the past year ways to mitigate the new law and we originally were told that private individuals could continue as usual and the rule would only apply to companies. Then - surprise surprise - the government did a U-turn and blocked that.

No they haven't or at least they have never sent any me any such Emails.
They are required by Thai Law to verify accounts and Paypal has chosen to use NDID because it's the simplest for them but only supports Thai ID numbers. Funny thing is NDID is a private Company nothing to do with the government.

What about the deaths of ''''drug suspects''''' that you ordered to be killed without trial?

    Arrogant, pathetic, corrupt killer.

It wasn't only Drug Suspects who were killed they were Civilians, Police, Drug Addict's and Drug Dealers many of whom also had guns.
During a 3 month period of the war on drugs about 2500 people were killed which was about double the average amount at the time.

Are you suggesting a differing opinion is not welcome here? Too many here bang on in a silly way about Trump, and masks and the local people, yet have a blind spot to the failings of their own countries. It's a Forum......

Dude what you said doesn't even have anything to do with the topic. But anyway we live here and we have the right to an opinion on the country we live in. I am sure if I was complimenting Thailand you wouldn't complain. Thailand is a great county but it's not perfect same as my own country the UK but I don't complain about the UK here because I don't live in the UK and after all this is a Thai Forum.

A lot of posters seem to want to turn everything into an opportunity to denigrate Thai people..... it is not even a comment from the Thai Government, rather TAT.

I think they have done well to be in less of a mess than the other countries we talk of.

Dude If you don't agree with other peoples views then why do you even come here?

I assume so you can complain about something.

Again it is your view that it is absurd.  Why can't folks understand things are done differently by others and accept it.

Yes I absolutely 100% agree everyone to their own but there's a group of Thai's lets call them Maskers they tend to be older influential people in communities who are bullying others who don't want to wear masks into wearing them do you agree with that or not? One example and there are many Banks force people to wear masks even when they don't want to.

O-Heck I been scolded dozens and dozens of times in the last 2 years in 7-11 for not wearing a mask or not wearing one properly......After a while you get use to the screaming and it does not bother you any more.....But most people don't care if you wear a mask or not...

Heck yea me too I only ever put my mask on when told to but Thai's are way more sensitive to such matters it's like loosing face for them.
