  1. Of course I worry about safety that is why i wear safety gear and don't ride like an idiot. However it still is risky but i still feel the rewards outweigh the risks. If I were to use my car all the time id spend half of my life waiting for traffic.

In the end its all about how much risk your willing to take and what your comfortable with. You can die of so many things but riding a motorbike is dangerous.

At least 26,000 people killed in road accidents every year in Thailand, up to 80% are motorcyclists. Yes, you could say riding a bike is risky.

I don't know whether the authorities keep detailed statistics about the causes of the (80 %) approx 21,000 motorcycle deaths - but my guess is that the vast majority are due to one or more of these factors (all of which are completely avoidable):

    Excess alcohol/drugs

    Excessive speed for the conditions

    No helmet

    Lack of training/experience

Poor maintenance (particularly of lights tyres and brakes)

So the risk can be greatly reduced if none of those factors apply to you.

  2. Wait until she is in a good mood then talk to her about HRT.

HRT can help with her moods, can help improve her general health and can keep her skin and hair looking better for longer.

There are some downsides too, so read up on it and go to see a specialist.

If she won't listen to you, could your grown up children back you up? They must also be concerned about their mother's health.

  3. The absence of the vanilla one is an issue of importance. Chocolate chip cookie is second choice, but occasionally even that goes walkies and all that one has is the straight down the line chocolate staring back at you. The question is, are you strong enough to walk away?

Faced with this dilemma I would go for the foot long cheese sausage (with chilli sauce).

  4. I have 3 comments:

First, what a great day to be a police officer when you can "collar" someone who thought he had got clean away with these vile murders for over 30 years.

Second, 4 murders in 3 years! How likely is it that he called it a day in 1987 and that was the end of his killing spree?

Third, Oregon has the death penalty - I would rather see him rot in a prison until he was dead.

  5. Changing the subject , very slightly..

    But hopefully somebody can answer

I have a Bangkok bank account , and transfer money many times using swift . My UK bank charge me £20 for every transfer regardless of amount .. Fair enough , but after a period of time , normally about 4-6 weeks , I then get charged again by my UK bank , when I called them to ask why they say it's the Bangkok bank commission charge and they are just moving it on .. Is there a Thai bank that doesn't do this ? .. My wife (Thai ) also sends money using kasikorn I think , and doesn't seem to get charged ' twice ' is it only Bangkok bank that do this maybe , btw it's never the same amount but always between £15 -25 , I guess maybe due to transfer rates ?

    And suggestions/ ideas ?

Why don't you transfer GBP from your UK bank account into the Bangkok Bank London branch? That should be a free transfer for you. After that Bangkok Bank do the rest and it ends up in your Bangkok Bank Thailand account.

    .

That is what I often do. Here is a link to the information. http://www.bangkokbank.com/BangkokBank/PersonalBanking/DailyBanking/TransferingFunds/TransferringIntoThailand/ReceivingFundsfromUK/Pages/ReceivingFundsfromUK.aspx

. Ok , I've just been on my nationwide account to try this , using the download given from bkkbank UK

But my nationwide only offers CHAPS or swift . And it doesn't follow the same pattern .. I'm confused as to how to complete it .. Anybody use nationwide for this function ?

I don't know anything about how the Nationwide works but I would be very surprised if you can't transfer money from your UK bank account to another UK bank account - which is all that you are doing.

First instruction: When you go online DO NOT CHOOSE INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER. (this is a transfer from UK to UK, Bangkok Bank will do the international bit). Just follow the normal procedure for making a payment in the UK.

Enter the amount you wish to transfer (in GBP).

Enter the sort code 60 93 98 (Bangkok Bank UK branch).

Enter the account number 92001000 OR 92002000 (the first uses UK exchange rates + total charges of 15GBP, the second uses Thai exchange rates + charge of 20GBP + Thai bank charges up to 500THB) For smaller amounts the first can be better, for larger amounts the second may be best - you decide.

Enter the first name and surname of the receiving party - the name which appears on your Bangkok Bank passbook (YOUR NAME - NOT BANGKOK BANK).

Under Special Instructions (Payment Reference or Payment Description)

Enter the ten-digit account number of your Bangkok Bank account in Thailand, followed by BKKBTHBK.

    Hope this helps.

  6. And those nice People sitting on the floor on the pic was found in 3rd place checked..??

Or is it just a pictuire to show how it would look if they found someone..??

From the link in the OP...

"The final location was Soi Hua Tung in North Pattaya where a total of 20 individuals, suspected of working as street vendors and beggars, were arrested after they failed to produce passports or work permits."

  7. Ha seen a few they look like Pinocchio, They look stupid in Our opinion , we know a few Thai women in the UK who regret getting their eye brows tattooed.

Not just Thai women. Eyebrow tattooing is common in the UK and elsewhere. If done properly it can look good. If not, it can look awful.

Personally, I think it's a bad idea to have any sort of tattoo on one's face.
