All this over a pair of curtains?
Pull yourself together man!

I keep my wallet in a pocket "locked" with buttons, has worked so far. Also beware of homosexuals.
Yes, because they are all renowned pickpockets and can slip in and out without you even noticing.
[sarcasm - in case you didn't realise]

I know it's of no use to you but up here in BKK i go to a supplier in China Town who supplies fairly good quality hand tools. However, i got his details after asking my local Toyota service centre where they got their tools from, maybe you could try the same ?
Thanks for the replies, I know I can probably find one around Worachak Road in BKK, will do if come up with a blank here, will give Hardware house a try when the long weekend traffic goes home!
cheers
There's another Hardware House which is a bit closer. On the southbound side of Sukhumvit road, Ban Amphur, about 500m south of the Ambassador City hotel (Combined Hardware House, Home Mart & Numchai).
The other place I would try is the tool shop a few metres from the bus station on Pattaya Nua. They have a great range of tools.
Take the picture with you unless you speak Thai.

There is a place on Sukhumvit road (northbound past Bangkok Pattaya Hospital) next door to the Honda dealer, opposite to McDonalds and Mini Siam.
They have floor tiles that appear to be terracotta - but I'm not sure if they have been "fired" or whether they would be suitable as baking stones.
Would a granite offcut work? There are quite a few places around town that cut granite for worktops. Obviously, you would need to make sure it was untreated and free from chemical sealants etc.

Yesterday's Thai Visa had an article about rising tourism with this quote: During the first six months of the year, the country main gateway Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport welcomed 26.75 million passengers followed by Don Mueang with 14.43mn and Phuket 6.43mn. Chiang Mai Airport handled 4.04mn passengers.
How can Mr Omani be the 17millionth visitor through Swampy if 26.75 million came in the first 6 months of the year?
In addition to "visitors", Suvarnabhumi airport also receives a lot of transit passengers and domestic flights.
Maybe that is the explanation (or part of it).

And the big winner is some British welfare office. One social benefit case less.
I expect the lawyers (both sides) have earned very healthy fees.

Pretty obvious window dressing.
There's a limit to a repressed population's appetite for this. For any junta, it's always just a matter of time.
In the case of Mayanmar - 49 years.

No Jin. That isn't what we meant when we said "use your dictaphone".

This evening went to the market on SSCC and bought 2 large fried fishes, some spicy fish paste, mixed fried vegetables with prawn, a dish with octopus, rice, noodles and some other foods and ate 3 times as much and as good as at Preecha yesterday at a quarter of the price we paid there.
Yesterday we left with hunger.
Preecha in Bang Saray is a great disappointment if you have been used to eating at their Ban Amphur restaurant.
Next time you are in Bang Saray, try Ao Talay restaurant, just about 200m further along the beach road towards the big temple. Food there is excellent and not too pricey.

This might help...

Short answer appears to be No.

As far as I know, vehicles can not go straight on from Thapprya road onto Second road. This was made "no entry" some time ago. So the driver was probably turning left so as to get onto Second road from the next junction.

An Aussie might say "I love you"
A Kiwi might say "I love ewes"
Or so I have been told.

A very touching story. I'm actually touching my head as I read it.
So, an ex-Kenyan becomes an American and an American President. And it is a Good Thing!
An ex-Muslim becomes a Christian and it is a Good Thing depending on the point of view.
Since I didn't mention the colour I can hardly be blamed for racism. But also depending on the point of view.
What I am actually trying to say here: -
If a white American Christian miraculously became a President of Kenya ... no, I cannot even say this.
Queen Elizabeth II of Kenya.
-
Not sure if it's the same stuff you are after - in the basement area of Central (is it called Market Place??) there is a stall selling aromatic oils for use in oil burners.

A Soi Six Silly Sausage Vendor? There's a lot of alliteration in that line.
Noticeably, the article made a great subtle racist comment by identifying the man as being from Esarn, which the Bangkok elite equate with buffaloes, which panders to their readership.
Personally I thought they were referring to the type of sausage as being Esarn style.
That would be Silly Soi Six Spicy Sausage Seller Scammed by Swarthy Skinned Stranger - surely.

no idea who that is, i know the willy nelson song, but this is one for the TV old timers i guess
One of the very few good things about being an "old timer" is that we can remember the days of great music...
...even if we can't remember what it was we came upstairs for.

Is it just me that thinks krisb is having us on.
The other day we drove past a McDonalds at 60km/hr.
She grabbed the steering wheel and swerved me towards it!
Luckily the roads the were dry.
Large fries please. Please, it's about me this thread.
Yes it's very remote, she's got no control.
Edit: just seen Patsycat's post. Not just me then.

Don't know what time they open, but they close around 5.30 - 6.00pm Mon to Sat.
Usually closed on Sundays.

Villa mart in the avenue
Avoid the sturger rubbish (worst pint I've ever had)
Is that a positive sighting? Guinness or Murphy's?

I just came across this local radio phone-in show from the UK on the subject of gay marriage..

No luck at Siam Expat Foods, but not a wasted journey - I managed to spend nearly 2,000 Baht on things I didn't realise I needed.
-
Siam Expat Foods (Soi Siam Country Club) had Murphy's some weeks back, if they still do of course remains to be seen.
Thanks for the tip. I will check it out later today.
Seafood Restaurant

It does - except there is no 'big screen' there, nor at any of the other Ban Amphur restaurants that I can think of.
Also, OP does not say the direction of travel along Sukhumvit road.
