  1. Having a good giggle at this until the post arrived today and

guess what, a similar fan letter saying I was doing 126kmph

in a 90kmph limit, location Klongphal, thats on the way back

from Korat Highway 2, near the big dam - but I am getting done

    for 500 baht.

Wifey tells me there has been a seed camera near the police checkpoint for years. Guess it is not always turned on tho :whistling:

  2. Check the fuel first... I assume it has a Nikki carberator. remove the air cleaner and check to see if the carb has a glass window in the side of the float bowl that will show the level of fuel. Run the engine for a few minutes at 2500 rpm and check to see if the fuel level drops in the window. If it does this would indicate a problem in the fuel departmentt. maybe a sticky float valve, tired fuel pump, or partially blocked fuel line.

If the fuel levels are ok then it is time to look at the electrical system... check the coil (borrow one the same you know works and try) If it has a ballast coil; see if it is possible to by-pass the ballast. check the distributor cap for hairline cracks or carbon tracking. Replace the HT lead from the coil to the distributor. check spark plugs for colour. (do they need replacing?) Replace the plug leads.

Hope this gives you idea of a direction to head in.

    :jap:

  3. My girlfriend took her English test a month or two ago. It was a major PITA because she doesn't live near Bangkok.

Half the centres on the approved list wouldn't test her or couldn't test speaking. I don't think BULATS test is available now.

In the end she took a 2 day trip to some office in Bangkok. 10 candidates sat on one side of the room chatting loudly while each person was taken to the other side of the room for testing in turn. She couldn't hear the questions because of the noise. Fortunately, she passed.

Is IELTs available? It will not be any cheeper, but is recognised by the universities if further study outside Thailand is going to be persued.

  4. Using the estimate of loosing 4hp per year... I am in deep doo doo.... 30 years old toyota diesel, therefore I have a loss of 240hp?

...the thing only had 80 ponies when it was new.

It has now done about 500 000km and only had the tappits adjusted and the injectors replaced, even now it still pulls like a schoolboy.

As others have said; the power loss will be dependant on many things... driving style and maintainance being the two most critical.

Those that did loose 4hp per year in reality, proberly expired a long time ago. (old Fords and BMCs)

  5. The guts of this report should be read in the context of that it was/is a test case for the NZ employment laws.

These sort of employment problems (bed hopping between co-workers) are not uncommon and regually end up in court because the employer views the indiscretion as a breach of employment contract rather than the breach of company policy which it realy is.

Aside to this is eveyone seems to delight in a juicy story involving a bit of sex and debaucery. The post header is misleading. :(

Recently the the employment laws were "tweeked' by the current government, and what is not outlined in the story is when the accused actually committed his sin. Given the speed of the court system in NZ it could easily have been two years ago.

Given it is an employment issue it would have gone through the Employment Court and not the District Court system as what he/they did was not criminal.

What is most dissapointing is it is the tax-payer who has realy been screwed....

Nelson Air is owned by Air New Zealand...

Air NZ is publily listed but the government retains the majority share

The Employee will have had Legal Aid (government payed) for both court hearings

Costs and compensation will have been awarded against the employer...

    ...Final situation:

    an umemployed pilot

two air-crew with a tarnished reputation

tax payers that forked out a couple of hundred thousand to fund the investgation and court hearings

only winners are the lawyers :bah:

my recommendations would be biased :whistling: but this truck has done half a million km without the need for major work. Only things that would make it better would be power sreering and sound deadening/insulation on the firewall. lol

  7. Ok, did all that and it seemed to be in the correct place from when I copied it over....as it asked to overwrite the original....it still says downloading with the % already downloaded, but no action.......hopefully its just waiting for one of the 2 seeders to fire up.

Thanks, nice to know how to do it the way you mentioned anyway.

Does that little green file have anything to do with it at this stage ??....the torrent file which is only about 18kb or so ??

What does that green file actually do anyway ?

Me thinks the little green file you are referring to is the torrent link you downloaded and if this is the case it will just sit in your " /Documents/ Downloads " file. If this is the case it makes no difference if you delete it. It contained the hash key and trackers for your torrent.

    What version of utorrent?

Be gratefull you are not living in the Police State of New Zealand...... http://torrentfreak.com/new-zealand-government-rushes-through-controversial-anti-piracy-law-110413/

  8. to answer your question about doing it the cheepest way..... just use shipping containers and build a cheep facade to hide them.
