  1. Too much like an everyday event on Thai roads. And you forgot about adding pot holes to the track so as to really test out the F1 cars suspension.
  2. Wow. Protecting Thais from foreign criminals. Any chance of action the other way round? Or just targeting criminals per se?
  3. To what will they stick my baggage tags? Seriously, I am not aware of any other country/ airport in the world having this system. Presumably it’s not considered a robust enough system. So why will it work in Thailand and not elsewhere?
  4. The issue is not the toothbrush and its cost ffs. It’s the managers response to the customers comment.
  5. Trump spending commitments have already been assessed by independent US analysts by several trillion dollars. Fact. higher spending usually boosts inflation, as do tariffs, and so the ruction path for US interest rates will be slower than currently anticipated. Hence a stronger US dollar due to higher than currently anticipated US dollar interest rates.
  6. I suppose one could ask why locally owned and run businesses cannot compete with foreign run and proxy owned businesses? Could it be that the former are inefficient and expensive? Equally, perhaps the emphasis to stop foreign influence should be to stop Thai people acting as proxies? The reality is that so much Russian and Chinese money (black and otherwise) is flowing into Thailand that locals are only too willing to do the bidding of foreigners. But it was Thailand that opened the floodgates to these people with visa free entry and/or multiple extensions, so it’s reap what you sow time.
  7. Thanks for the totally uninformed comment. You may wish to reflect on the fact that the USD to baht rate has now returned to the levels prevailing prior to President Biden taking office. Remember those days?
  8. I wonder if being taxed on worldwide income might put people off applying for a long term visa? just a thought.
  9. I am comfortably off. After the announcement that all remitted income would be taxed was made, I decided to use this year as a test case on whether I could enjoyably spend 6 months outside Thailand. I am up to 5 months now and have one final month to go, which I will spend in Cambodia. Next year I will be all set to spend 6 months outside Thailand having worked out which destinations will work for me the best and at which times of year. I have already paid many millions of tax in Thailand over the years by virtue of indirect taxation (GST, tax on cars, tax on property trades etc) and I’m not going to pay direct taxation on worldwide income and will pay far less in indirect taxation in future. I guess in my particular case the Revenue sept will be collecting less tax
  10. This tax would apply to all tax residents of Thailand, irrespective of nationality.
  11. That will make absolutely no difference if you stay more than 180 days in Thailand. Any income earned, in any bank account in the world, will be taxed in Thailand under these proposals
  12. I wonder why you think “elderly” people can’t operate a simple electronic system. Do you think we are stupid, Mr Oh So Smart Youngster?
  13. Disgraceful. Balcony railings have feelings too.
  14. Oh I don’t know about that. America has a few notable examples of similar legal shenanigans. You want to draw comparisons, use Singapore as an example of being the opposite to Thailand.
  15. Whilst there might be a case to argue for Thailand in respect of Thaksin’s influence, your assertion about America is totally devoid of any factual foundation. However, enjoy your conspiracy theories if it makes you feel better and helps you sleep at night.
  16. Take a good look. He pushes her head away with an open palm. There was no hit or strike or punch. He’s a jerk, but there’s no point making up what happened just to appease the masters who make up click bait headlines. Look at the video and make up your own mind.
  17. You are delusional if you think an elite like Prawit is going to wai or apologize to a commoner. SHE might have to do so to him, depends how much pressure is exerted on her boss.
  18. For goodness sake. He had his hand open and kind of pushed against her head 3 maybe 4 times. He’s a doddery old man in his 80’s. I doubt she felt anything. Whats frightening is not this “assault”, it’s that a man who is well past mental competency is still in a position of some, any, power.
  19. The people did rise up. They voted for Move Forward didn’t they? What do you think they should do? Take pitchforks and shovels and march on Bangkok? Fat lot of good THAT did last time round. We all saw what happens if there is civil disobedience.
  20. So Phua Thai who DIDNT win the most votes in the election, get their second stab at appointing a Prime Minister. I wonder when Move Forward who DID win the most votes will get a go? Never of course.
  21. Because these are low grade factory jobs that require no English proficiency?
