Good old Thai apps.
And the banks/government insist on you using them.
In fairness the Thai banks, green and blue, have their stuff together. Apps and online work pretty darn well. Government, well... I agree with you there.

You would think that with all the need for and emphasis on increasing tourism that the BiB would find a way to solve these stupid issues in a way slightly less visible than arrest and a trip to the station. There is not a good way to play this in the press even if the two actors were being idiots.

From reading the replies here, it seems immigration just uses these unfortunate but honest mistakes to take advantage of foreigners and pocket a little "bonus“.

You never want to be the first into an intersection even if the light is green and you don't want to be the last one through.

I'm certain that all of the most modern crime scene protocols were followed to the lett before the body parts were "...dispatched to the Forensic Science Institute at the Police Hospital for meticulous examination..."

No, he meant that the Taiwanese Embassy is at least calling for an investigation and that he doesn't think the Canadian Embassy would do the same for one of their citizens.

How exactly was this allowed to go on for one night let alone for three months?

Somehow I don't think this is going to help much.

This country just gets madder by the minute, that would ruin any forensic evidence directly at the scene.
Jeeshhh... no one in the RTP have watched even one episode of CSI?

So some company's rules stop the police from recovering a dead body in situ..........
That's the first thing I thought of too. So, now the homicide squad (such as they are) has to deal with a body that has been moved. I realize a body in a river has moved from where it went in but I would think the police should be involved from where the body was first found.

The typical ready, FIRE! ...aim, mentality of most "schemes" coming from Thai bureaucrats. Oh look... rich farang, take his money... oh wait rich farang, don't leave!

If only one plot of land with the house is permitted, there is no risk of speculation.
Certainly one plot for a personal residence per visa holder is not going to negatively impact the Thai real estate market.

I didn't realize there was that many Thai's in Israel need a few planes to get that lot home,
30,000? Even on A380's that's more than 50 trips and you know it won't happen.

It's difficult to imagine any car chase in metro Bangkok that doesn't end in rot deet within a block and a half.

Sounds good.
Emphasize that it is old, used, falling apart etc but has personal sentimental value. Good idea to not be carrying any receipts involving it.
Yeah, I'd go this route too. It's your personal guitar. Guitars being carried through airports are a common sight. Don't overthink it. I walked through the "Nothing to Declare" exit with a boxed bicycle a few times. No one said a word. Good luck.

I'm looking for a run-of-the-mill 3-ring notebook like the type most of us old codgers used when we were in school or university.
I looked on Lazada and Shopee and..........zip, zero, nada.
Has anyone seen 3-ring notebooks for sale anywhere in Chiang Mai and vicinity. The search engines on Lazada and Shopee are dismal at best. Try searching on Google or other and usually one of the first results will be from one of the two shopping sites. Office Mate has them, so does B2S.

Thailand so afraid of renewing and modernizing. The old guards wants o stay in power, control the people and play many tricks to prevent that the country enters the 21st century. pita is the thread according to them, so he must leave although the people wants to get rid of the old, conservative non working but pocket filling elite/army generals.
Where is this politician that is not seeking power? Where does this government exist that does not want to control its citizens?

British man dies in failed parachute jump from Pattaya condo
in Pattaya News

The parachute in the photos of the body is a blue or purple. The open one is green. Probably a stock photo used for the story. The media should make note of that but they often do not.
