  1. Are you sure it's on Lazada? I have relied on PayPal and also my home bank in America for my nearly fourteen years here, and since coming back two months ago have had to deal with both accounts being locked due to "fraud control" twice. I am no longer able to use PayPal for any online payments unless I use a VPN. The instances I have had were when purchasing via Lazada, but they weren't the ones locking my accounts down.

Most local NGOs are tax dodgers. Most foreign NGOs have some axe to grind and are not impartial. Why China or Russia allow US NGOs to operate in their countries, I have no idea.

Maybe you have some sources to back up these claims? There are many NGOs out there that are doing a lot of good for a lot of people. I hope you are the type of person who has done the same.

It's 50/50, mixing tyres is a bit of a gamble.  If the front two are the same make/model and the back two the same as each other but different from the fronts, do you think rolling down the motorway @ 100kph with different fronts and backs is safe?  Every tyre is rated for different speeds, traction, rain, etc.  Best to have the same make & models on all 4, trying to mix & match is risky.

"every" tire is not rated for different speeds, traction, etc... you are close though, tires are rated by allowable sustained speeds, tractions, etc., if you use tires of the same or higher equivalent ratings it is fine (The rating is a "group" rating), that being said...if the other tires on the vehicle show significant wear they should be replaced as well. I owned and operated a tire shop for eighteen years.

  4. Just today I began getting the 403 Forbidden message when surfing news sites back home in the States. I've been in Thailand over 12 years and never seen this before, haven't changed computers or anything. If I use a vpn everything's fine. Haven't seen any problems as far as Thai sites go.

  5. My wife's phone is not True but another provider, within the past month her phone has been used very little but seems to be constantly out of funds. When her niece checked the billing on it she found that even though we never registered the sim for mobile internet it has begun to occur internet data fees, and she has also begun to receive roaming charges even though we haven't gone anywhere.

  6. I came in on a COE, but was also required to do the RT-PCR test. I researched the differences between the RT-PCR test and the PCR test, and the differences are quite complicated, the description was far beyond my ability to understand. I had a hard time finding somewhere to get the RT-PCR test done and had to make a three hour round trip drive to a Lab that performed it. The technician who took the sample told me that the RT-PCR test was much more accurate.

The following is only the beginning of the explanation I found:

    Quote

Reverse transcription PCR, or RT-PCR, allows the use of RNA as a template. An additional step allows the detection and amplification of RNA. The RNA is reverse transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA), using reverse transcriptase. The quality and purity of the RNA template is essential for the success of RT-PCR. The first step of RT-PCR is the synthesis of a DNA/RNA hybrid.

I guess the airline staff might check wether you booked AQ for 10 days prior to departure? or only at arrival maybe...

We came in last week on COE's, we flew Delta Airlines out of Seattle, which was flight-sharing with Korean Air between Incheon and Bangkok. When we arrived at Incheon we were ushered to a transfer desk where they checked our ASQ booking, Vaccination Certificate, Certificate of Entry and Covid Insurance. I was a bit confused as to why all of those items were not checked until we hit Korea, but that's what happened. I'm not sure what would have happened if our documents were not in order....but what happened to us makes me think that the advice some are giving on here as far as "just get on the plane and sort it out later" may not work.

I know for a fact that Chris Parker( ReTHAIred Working For You) arrived in Bangkok about 3 weeks ago on his way to Koh Samui. He tested at the airport and got his results back in 4hrs.

That might be true then, but the wife and I arrived at Bangkok three days ago and were not tested at the airport, but instead at the ASQ, we arrived at the airport at 10:30pm, were tested at 8:00am the following day.

    That depends where he is...

IF he is in Phuket, the Sandbox quarantine continues even for arrivals from Nov 1st (if I’m not mistaken).

IF he is in Bangkok it would make sense that new regulations apply and they only have to stay one more night from Nov 1st with a PCR test administered on Nov 1st (hotel should be forced to refund).

IF in Bangkok, forcing someone to stay full 6 more nights because they arrived on Oct 31st is utterly stupid, but not beyond the realms of believability for Thailand.

Sorry I didn't elaborate, we are in Bangkok.

  10. We are at the quarantine hotel, arrived last night. Tomorrow is Nov. 1st, that's when the rules officially change to the one day quarantine. Our Covid tests were this morning. When we were coming through all of the many different check points at the airport last night we asked the officers what would happen to us after the rules changed, would our quarantine be shortened? The answers were "I don't know". I asked the ASQ hotel also, and received the reply that because the new one day quarantine rule was not going into effect until Nov. 1st and we had arrived before then that we would have to complete the 7 day quarantine. Maybe there will be a change of heart, or maybe we'll just have to complete the seven day quarantine.

  11. Take a look at the Embassy or Consulate's website that covers the area your wife will be coming from. It will have two sections as far as the entry requirements go, one for Thai Nationals and one for Non-Thai's. As far as the U.S. Embassies and Consulates go, I found the Washington DC Embassy to have more information than the Consulate that covers my area, so I used it to get a clearer picture.

  12. I just read the announcement saying the quarantine requirement will be dropped on Nov. 1st if there is not a significant increase of new Covid cases between now and then. My wife are fully vaccinated and I have just received our COE's, our flights arrive in Bangkok on Oct. 30th. I'm wondering if we will have to complete the 7-day quarantine if they drop the quarantine on day 2 of our quarantine? I guess the other option would be to change our flights to the following week so we arrive after the quarantine is dropped, but I'm thinking that will void the COE's and we will have to reapply. And then if they don't go through with their proposal to drop the quarantine we would have to rebook a quarantine package! I really wish this was someone else's mess and not mine!

No quarantine from 1st Nov (just announced by Prayut).

Not sure if there is still a CoE requirement (assuming no quarantine is for dual vaxxed arrivals).

This is going to be interesting.....our flights arrive at Bangkok on October 30th, we have COE's which have been approved based on that arrival date, we also have a 7-day quarantine package booked. So what happens on day 2 of our quarantine, when the quarantine rule for arrivals is dropped? (we have been fully vaccinated)
