My wife uses ปลานิล (tilapia). Very delicious and it's inexpensive at Makro.
The wife and I eat a lot of Tilapia, I have heard a lot of stuff about it having the wrong kind of Omega and so forth, but I figure it's probably a lot healthier than a big juicy hamburger. I'm not sure how it would do in a batter.

I had been worried about getting our new O-A visas back in a timely manner so as to be able to get the COE done on time for our flights. It turned out that I shouldn't have been. I mailed our applications priority express from Washington State on June 17th and included a prepaid return envelope that was also priority express, to my surprise we received our passports with the new visas on June 24th! Hope this helps anyone who is applying or going to apply.

Did it say ASQ or proof of accommodations.
I stand corrected, it does not specify ASQ proof as I had thought. It just says proof of accommodation which I incorrectly assumed to mean ASQ.

The ASQ reservation is required to get a COE (certificate of entry) that is number one on the list.
I was under the impression that the ASQ reservation was not required until after the Visa was obtained, and then was to be obtained in order to get the COE, but when I applied for our Visas using the Thai e-Visa app last week, one of the steps asked for the ASQ reservation information.

A rapid covid 19 test will not be accepted. It must be a RT-PCR test.
From the COE website.
"(2) Medical certificate attesting that the traveler is free from COVID-19, using RT-PCR method, issued no more than 72 hours before travelling,"
Thanks UJ

I just flew back to the States (Seattle/Tacoma) I saw that some Walgreens and Rightaids were given Covid testing besides the vac.
Those tests will not suffice, they will give you the tests, and the results, but will not supply a certificate...at least that's my understanding.

It's talking about a medical certificate declaring you to be free of Covid 19, done within 72 hours of departure, as others have also explained. I am in rural Washington State and am waiting on our O-A Visas from the LA consulate as well. I have been searching for a place to obtain the rapid covid test that will also supply a certificate certifying it to be negative. It appears that there are not many places to get that stuff done here, at least not this side of the big cities like Seattle. It looks like certain Travel Clinics are going to be the most likely choice, but not all of those do it either.

Cheapest coverage I've found is through LMG. 7700 Baht for one year. Throw away police, practically speaking useless because of high deductibles but it meets the minimum requirements of Thailand Immigration.
Are you sure you are not talking about the Health Insurance Only policy? If so I don't believe it covers Covid.

You need the 40/400k baht medical insurance for the OA visa application.
You also need the $100k covid 19 insurance to apply for a certificate of entry.
Some Thai insurance companies are offering policies that meet both requirements.
Sorry to be a bother....but I assume that if a single plan is used that also covers Covid, the total coverage of the health insurance plan must be 100,000$ U.S.? The plan I am thinking of using does not state a separate coverage limit for the Covid coverage which is included in the plan. Thanks again.

Hi, I am getting ready to apply for an O/A visa at the L.A. Consulate, but am confused about the insurance requirements. In the O/A visa application instructions it states that a health insurance policy with 400,000 baht of coverage is required. But then in the COE instructions it states that a health insurance plan of 100,000$ U.S. is required. I am at a loss as to which is actually required. In the same line of questioning, is there a requirement for a separate Covid insurance policy required also? Thanks in advance for setting me straight.

Not sure about your State, here in Washington State you can apply for a criminal background check with the State Police online, and have it notarized by them for an extra 15$. No fingerprints required.

I was in front of one of our local food vendor stands and of course someone came up and cut in front of me, throwing their money on the counter and saying impatiently what she wanted. I asked the vendor, "when people are growing up here doesn't anyone teach that this is bad manners?". She smiled and said, "yes, but people just do what they see other people do".
The fact is that many Thai people are against the queue cutting, but most just won't do anything about it.

She needs to contact the Lao Consulate in Khon Khaen and fill out the paperwork to apply to repatriate to Laos, she will also need a medical certificate, but best to contact them and see what the specific requirements are.

Who came up with these ideas? I have to keep 2 meters away from everyone when I go out shopping, but I can go get a massage by the same person who has just touched how many other people? And why check the masseuse frequently? They could get tested in the morning and then give someone carrying the virus a massage and have spread it to how many people by the afternoon?
And as far as bars go, what do people do in bars? Do not a fair amount of the customers get intoxicated at least to some degree? Lets see you how that goes, getting people under the influence of alcohol to obey a bunch of rules like social distancing.

Eva air, Qatar, Emirates......as far as I know they have been flying out all during lockdown.
I tried to book Eva twice, they aren't flying out of BKK yet, at lest not towards the States, likely because there is a ban on international transit passengers in Taiwan. The other two you mentioned are flying though. I have flights out of BKK to the U.S. on Korean Air in a week or so. Also JAL is flying out of BKK.
If I find a flight that is supposedly flying out of Bangkok, I get the flight number and route and check on flightaware to see if they have been reliable of have been cancelling a lot of flights.

people get the most chance to get sick in HOSPITALS, you know, where hand sanitizing is done all day...
humans are bacteria, have a harmony with them, they produce vitamins and other chemical processes
Lets see you get salmonella and harmonize with that bacteria. And there is quite a difference between a bacteria and a virus.

Also people don't like when muslims etc are coming into their countries and wants to bring with them their laws and change their country. But at the same time these people are coming into Thailand and want to change Thailand. Not realizing that they are doing the same.
People can bring up points that concern them without wanting to change Thailand into their own country. And what do Muslims have to do with anything? How many people are killed every year here because of a lack of common sense as far as safety goes? And if people complain about this your idea is to tell them to go home if they don't like it?
If you feel a great sense of freedom here because of the lack of laws or lack of enforcement, then great for you, but the fact is that not everyone feels that way, and by this person voicing their concern someone else may be able to avoid death or injury.

think so, huh? try booking a flight through Taiwan, where all transit passengers are banned. Or are you being sarcastic?

Ahhh....one of the "if you don't like it go home" posters. I have come to loath that reply. Do you yourself like absolutely everything in Thailand? If not then why are you still here? People bring up good points, so what if they are complaining...take your own advice and deal with it.

The cargo coming in passengers going out idea makes sense. We booked tickets out on Korean Air in a couple of weeks and I have been nervously watching for a cancellation e-mail, but when I checked on FlightAware it showed that the flight has been on a reliable schedule.

I was at a gas station in Laos and the attendant had a shirt on that said "F--- off <deleted>" in large letters. I asked him in Lao if he knew what it meant, and he said "no" so I translated it for him. He got a super embarrassed look on his face and took off behind the gas station and someone else had to come and finish filling our car.
Ever since that time, I have had more compassion for locals who wear English print shirts that are questionable..

Easier for mom & dad, or grandma and grandpa, whoever is raising the kids. They don't have to run to the markets or shops, in our village when I go on my morning walks I see the local kids riding the motorbikes to the little shops to get their dad a couple of the little bags of coffee mix and maybe his cigarettes for the day.
If I walk a little later I see dad, who is now up and going after having his coffee, on the same motorbike to the same shop to buy food for his fighting chickens and maybe have a shot of whiskey while he is there. It's just life here.

NIDA poll: Nearly three quarters of Thais DO NOT agree with reopening Thailand to foreign tourists
in Thailand News

Who are the foreigners this majority of Thai people don't want the country opened to?
Who are those Thai citizens thinking of when they answer the poll question? It would be good to see some more specific details.
