  1. While I understand the Thai Government attempting to put more safeguards in place against Covid, instead of creating and using an app for the COE (that is not extremely reliable), the simpler and more reliable solution would have been to allow travellers to download forms, fill them out, and then scan and/or upload them to the appropriate Embassy or Consulate for COE approval or issuance.

  2. We have our visas and COE's, and are flying out of Seattle on Delta Airlines. I have been looking at options for the pre-flight Covid Tests and am wondering what people who have been through this already have experienced?       #1- I am especially wondering about the "certified" part? We live in a rural area and will have to drive a couple of hours one way to get to get a PCR Certified Test.          #2- Are there actually two requirements? One for the airlines and one for Thailand? Delta Airlines indicates that travel to Thailand requires either a negative Covid test, or a certificate of full vaccination, but the Thai Embassy only lists one option, the covid test.

  3. We just received two ceo's, mine was rejected at first because I added the "flight share" flight number of our arrival flight and the flight number from the airline we bought the tickets from. (the itinerary says that flight is Delta Air #xxxx, and then in small print that it is the same as Korean Air #xxxx). They made me change that and use only the Delta Airlines number.

  4. Well...my elation at finally getting my COE application to go through with no problems was short-lived. After finishing my application, I entered my wife's, and had exactly the same problem even though I entered all info exactly the same way as in my application. Even though the confirmation box that popped up didn't show her departure or arrival airport, I went ahead and submitted it after going back into the application and seeing that the airports were indeed entered correctly.

  5. O.K.,.....I finally got it to work! Here is what happened:          In the COE application there is an area asking for transit flight information if your flight is not a direct flight. It has boxes to enter up to three different transit flights. The first box is marked, "from originating airport", the other two boxes are just marked "transit flights". I entered the orginating airport transport flight from Seattle info correctly, but mistakenly thought the connecting flight from Korea to BKK should be entered in the "transit flight" box (second box). When I hit the "save" button at the end of the application it asked me to confirm, when the confirm window opened the originating and arrival airport sections were both blank. I gave up trying to fix it after many attempts and then just hit the "submit" button. Only after hitting that last button submitting the application did an error message pop up telling me the transit flight number and the arrival flight numbers could not be the same and that I needed to delete the transit flight info.

Have you entered transit date?  I had a similar issue but it highlighted the missing information and I think it was this.

Yep, entered transit date, it all looks good, departure airport, transit airport and arrival airport all entered and dates all entered. No reply from the consulate as of yet. Thinking about just punching the submit button, but when they rejected my other coe they waited until three days before the flight, i don't want to be waiting in darkness again.

Which web browser are you using ? (do not use Safari).

If you are having problems with Internet Explorer, switch to Crome or Firefox (there could be something in the settings).

Firefox, I just took screenshots of the problems and sent them to the LA Consulate with a message explaining the problem, in the meantime I'll try another browser. (update: tried three web browsers, none of them Safari, same result)

  8. Thanks for all of the tips, so I made it all the way through the first part of the COE application, received the pre-approval message the next day, and am now finishing uploading the flights and asq info. I am stumped once again at the final confirmation window. I have checked and double checked, and all of the information is uploaded and correct, but when I click the "save" at the end and the confirmation window pops up, the transit port and arrival ports in the confirmation window are blank. I clicked on "Edit" and went back into the application, it shows that I have entered the transit port and destination port correctly. Should I just click "submit" regardless of what the confirmation popup window says?

  9. Having had my previous COE rejected, I am trying to be extra careful this time. The first entry in the COE app asks for Travel Details, and says "if using an agency enter here". If a person books an airline via the airlines website, are they supposed to enter that information there? Or do you only enter information there if you are using a travel agency? (In American English "Agency" can mean a corporation) I feel pretty silly...first entry on the form and already stumped. Thanks for your replies!

  10. I requested quotes from several different Health and Covid Insurance companies in Thailand while applying for our O/A visas and COE's, and now my e-mail inbox is getting filled up with spam messages like crazy. On a hunch I went back into some of the websites and found that when applying for a quote at at least one of the companies you have to click a box that says you agree to them providing your information to third parties for marketing purposes. Not all of the companies are doing so, but it's something to be aware of.

Hi you have to click the upload button after attaching documents the little up arrow otherwise it doesn't attach properly.

I had my COE rejected way back in August for not submitting a travel document, I have an e-mail confirmation of receipt for that same document. From what I remember you are unable to proceed and submit the application unless all required information has been uploaded, is that not correct?

I submitted my wife's COE and it was accepted, so it's not like I didn't understand the process enough to do it correctly.

I'm headed back in Oct for 6 weeks. I've been planning this for awhile so didn't follow the vaccine for foreigners. Registered at last minute, may or not get it before US trip but in the US it's just walk in for any vaccine you want.

Coming back has a list of hurdles but study the COE requirements and the sandbox should still be available. 2 weeks at a beachside hotel sounds good. One thing to remember is the high season room rates coming up. The worst scenario is 2 weeks in Pattaya ASQ, either way I can't wait to step foot on US soil.

    high season?

Check that it’s not an issue with having a green check mark next to each flight date. That was an issue I had. It all looked correct but the green checks weren’t there.  I deleted and reentered the dates and it worked.

It wasn't an issue with the upload, I knew to wait for the green check, the upload was successful. In fact I received a confirmation e-mail from the consulate after uploading the air ticket reservation, it stated "travel confirmation received", which made the rejection based on "failure to provide transit flight information" all the more confusing. While I'm not happy about it, I am not going to reapply for the COE at this moment. When I applied for our visas the daily new cases of Covid were around 2,000-2,400....now they are over five times that and going up every day. We'll wait and see what happens. We are praying for this to be over and for the smiles to return to the people.

I'll e-mail again, I did receive a reply...but it seemed to be a generic one just saying the same thing the COE app told me. (under consideration) The sad part is that now we are coming into the weekend here on the West Coast and our flights are on Tuesday. It's a little nerve racking when we have thousands of dollars tied up in health insurance, covid insurance, quarantine packages and airfares. It does seem that they could be a bit more organized.

Just got a notice saying my COE was rejected due to "no transit flight information provided". I provided the information twice, once when filling out the application the first time, once a few days later when they sent a request for it. The kicker here is that I am the one who filled out my wife's COE application using the same information and they approved it! (hers had the same request for the transit flight information also). I believe the problem may be that the COE app itself is unreliable. I think this because when they requested more documents on the flight, the app also would not let me proceed unless I uploaded two more documents which I had uploaded when I first applied.                          Now what to do about the flights, insurance, quarantine reservations, etc...?

E-mail again, and keep e-mailing each day until you get a reply.

    Have you also called ?

I don't understand since there isn't even a place on the pre approval to add your flight details. Perhaps the expected travel date was left blank? Not sure what else to suggest other than logging in, clicking the yellow edit box and seeing if something seems missing.

There isn't any place to upload those documents, in my case they sent me an e-mail, the exact same e-mail they sent when I first applied, and then I went in and checked my status via the COE link they sent and it said I needed to upload our air reservations and two more documents I had already uploaded.

Sounds like something has gone wrong there.

When I did my visa at least one email from Embassy didn't arrive in my inbox, they quickly sorted it when I emailed asking why the application was taking so long.

    Try contacting Thai Embassy.

I contacted the LA consulate via e-mail and explained that our applications had been "under consideration" for over three weeks, they replied, "your CEO application is currently under review by one of our CEO Officers". That was one week ago. Our flights leave in five days and we don't know whether or not to continue as far as getting the preflight covid test or not.

  18. I applied for our COE three weeks ago, which was over four weeks before our flights, and it still shows "under consideration". A few days after I applied, the status indicated I needed to upload more documentation such as the airlines reservation proof and two other documents which I had already uploaded at the time of application. I uploaded all of the requested documents but ever since it has just shown "under consideration".

  19.      I tried to help a Thai neighbor who's dog was poisoned, it had blue foam coming out of it's mouth. I was told that was because one of the most common poisons is rat poison, of which the most common color is blue.

Personally, I hope that it died of natural causes.

              Sorry for your loss.
