Look at what is going on in Chiang Mai at the moment, the place in engulf in smoke and
burned particle in the air and visibility is reduced to almost the front of your nose,
this is NOT conducive to a country that expecting 25 million tourists that many of them
will want to travel to the north,
The rest of the country is more or less ok, you can't expect perfection with such large
country with this huge tourists intake....
It's just 1 or 2 months of smog for sure the tourists will be back.. they do that every year.
Besides that, the Chinese tourists, a large group of CM tourists don't care at all, for them this is moderate smog.

Good one, so no charter referendum so they can go straight to the elections where nothing to choose is after the new charter is implemented.
-
Wonder how they know that tourism is not affected, I know of a few people that wanted to come here but didn't because of the smog, so another lie, or just ignoring the fact that it's really bad?

And for any government head, elected or not, media scrutiny is part of the deal.
Why?
If a government is unelected they have no sympathy for the common people anyway because they ignore their rights.

What a strange story some how I do not believe a word...

Why do they see the Chinese visitors as problems?
Unbelievable and stupid, they are the new source of income for a lot of people, let's blame it on Thainess, something we don't understand.
-
Just a wild guess but could it be because that don't sell enough in KSK?

The only way to prove innocence is a trial. Thaksin elected to flee rather than prove his innocence at trial. Fleeing speaks volumes as to his claimed innocence of the charges.
Could it be that he was dealing with biased judges?

Auf der Au, ChiangMai-Lampun rd. Great value, buffets for just 229 Baht.

He asked the media to question the previous governments about why they had to leave all the problems for his government to tackle.
I thought that former politicians can not do any statements under the martial law?

The ruling junta has vowed to pump billions of dollars into the economy, mainly through long-planned infrastructure schemes.
Wasn't this all bad a few month's ago? When the previous government tried to do this?

Thailand will very quickly upset other Asean nations getting too close to China, Philippines , Brunei , Malaysia and Vietnam are still in dispute with China over China's ridiculous claim for territorial waters in the South China Sea. One of the reasons the US is switching its attention and forces to the Pacific
You are right. It seems like Thailand forgets their ASEAN friends, they are running straight into China's arms.
Will be interesting to see what the reaction is of the ASEAN counterparts.

I Think kids want other things then giving flowers to Yingluck or whatever, just an other example of an biased poll, whenever you see a poll, think of this one, it's all nonsense!

Thought TAT is doing a very good job promoting Martial Law tourism, nothing going on here.. everything is just fine.

The bar bars in for example Shangri La and Meridien, are excellent places to do after work drinks, they have happy hours as well, it's a pity nobody goes there, so I think we have to say there are no after work drink office style places, they do not exist in Chiang Mai, unlike Bangkok and Pattaya, where you see a lot of bars with an office crowd in the late afternoon.

This is the first time I've seen the Australian govt advising NOT TO TRAVEL to Thailand at this time.
Something has raised the security alert.
Read better, only a few provinces in the South, and thats probably going on for years already.

This article is from last week, not exactly breaking! Anyway I digress
linking with Thailand gives them another opportunity for access to the seaIs anyone else bemused by this line? China has 9000 miles of coastline, why the hell does it need access to the sea!?
It saves about a week to reach Europe!
