Maybe because of steady supplies of well-stuffed brown envelopes from said totalitarian governments to Wikileaks???
Ridiculous assertion. Why should he not expose the western governments that influence the world around him. Are you a Russian conspiracy theorist?

So instead of just cancelling the transaction and refunding they took out 255k thb in cash and gave him. And most likely he or the restaurant lost a minimum of 2% in bank fees not counting the loss at the fx. All for a photoop with cash i bet. Dumbest shit ive seen this month.
Very odd indeed. Why would it be cashed out?

How could this not be noticed at processing time? Anyone attempting to fully process this with the credit card company would likely be subject to removal. Not a valor act just a good business decision with some free publicity attached.

Has it occurred to the slightly mad cyclists on this thread that swimming is just as good an exercise, without any danger of heat stress?
Not true many experienced and in good shape swimmers have died from swimming longer distances in warmer water.

Pansies - I was playing tennis in it yesterday (I think was 35). Though the Thai I was playing wanted to quit half way through.
so you do have balls:) ???? I think it is wise to take precautions in the heat but it shouldn't deter anyone from their daily activities. I also think the body adapts to the heat through this type of exertion and not staying in indoor comfort. Play on!!!!

Pay attention to the dewpoint more than anything. Today it was 25 or 26 which is hot and considered dangerous. Dewpoint will indicates how well your body can cool itself and the lower number the better. Anything above 15 becomes uncomfortable.

Assange is a man who searched for the truth, found it and then released it to the public. As George Orwell said "in a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act".

Pattaya is a dump plain and simple but it does have some good deals on longer term condo rentals, plenty of paid sexual adventures and lots of bars opening early in the morning to quench the thirst of the addicted if that is your cup of tea. Otherwise don't waste your time go south young man!!!!

Oh dear, don't assume that your logic will be the same as Thai logic. In my experience, it's usually about 180 degrees opposite. The basic rules of "supply and demand" don't seem to apply here, especially in the area of real estate. Thais appear to see more value in sticking with their price, although nobody is showing any interest for the amount of money being asked, even if the property sits deserted and deteriorating for years. And even farang who have been here long enough often start to think like Thais, but I'm a believer that there's always good real estate deals to be had with enough patience and perseverance. Good luck with your relocation and housing.
it's called money laundering lol

The way people think is often so bizarre. So apparently God is in charge and a plane kills 57 people but two people are okay so God saved them but bears no responsibility for the crash?

I like the island and krabi as well. Recommended and in reality not much more than Pattaya or Bangkok for that matter.

This just shows what is in the minds of Israeli voters and that is to expand the country at the expense of their neighbors and to continue with aggressive military policy. Sad state of affairs.

That's rather ridiculous when the nation has long been a destination for refugees as well as providing huge amounts of foreign aid. No question the u.s. is part of a system that often lends itself to exploiting other's resources but that is the problem with capitalism not the usa.

Trump was a victim of his ego and mistakenly sat down and negotiated with Kim who will always be a lap dog of China. A total waste of time. The only thing Kim will understand is a missile up the ying yang:)

Patriotism is a dangerous sort of madness, it clouds the mind to truth and allows any number of atrocities in its name.
Not always it really depends on the individuals running the country. Patriotism can often provide unity in difficult times.
