  1. I also have never been a fan of stock markets anyway. I loved Real Estate in England and Spain but sold out 2 years ago. I just open a Jumbo for 200,000 pounds in a off shore Account in the Royal Bank of Nigeria it pays 8 per cent interest a month can any of beat that. Also as foreign the Nigeria Government the tax is 12 per cent after the first 100,000 pounds earned on Interest in the Royal Bank of Nigeria.

I don't know but 8%/mo is just too good to be true ----like a ga ga scam. May be you actually meant 8% per year? :D

    :D

I check and it is 8% a month. However spoke to Ali Ben Ali lawyer The Royal Bank of Nigeriahe called me and told me if add 200,000 pounds by Sept 11 it will be 9% a month. He also told me no scam. Lucky me Thanks anyway for worring me it could be a scam

it's not a scam! i checked with Ali ben-Ali and he assured me that Sharia law applies for those who invest 300,000 pounds. that entitles them to have a total of four wives, free vacation trips to the swamps in the Niger Delta and an additional bonus of 2% per month because the expenses for four wives are considerably higher.

OOPS! i forgot to post the Royal Bank of Nigeria home page. it's RoyNigBank@bullshÍt.org

But the funniest thing is people actually fall for it!! there are about 5,000 odd cases a year where people actually believe this and deposit there money.....

I am just hoping the Poster was infact Joking..... :o

I have over 750,000 with Royal Bank of Nigeria now you tell me its BS. However in the last 23 years with Ali Ben Ali I have made at least 4 times that money and that money I have already gave to my 5 children in England. Which they used to buy houses in London

Thanks for you advice I can afford a small loss

  4. The best investment available at the moment is a Republican victory in November.

Pays 150% for a two month investment.

In two months time, I will say 'told ya'

I do not believe in Betting to invest money I just open a Jumbo for 200,000 pounds in a off shore Account in the Royal Bank of Nigeria it pays 8 per cent interest a month can any of beat that. 5. I suggest maybe we should start trying to be an example; and stop the conspirancy theories and name calling.

Now is the time to push for the middle ground not the time to try and reinforce your position on the outer limits.

I agrees now that Thai Visa has Travel Agency, Sells Insurance and etc. They should start a church so we can pray for peace.

  6. I have to admit that I wish in my country the people running for office will give me money to vote for them. The only these people do is tax my income. I think the Thai method is better little taxes or no taxes and being paid to vote The USA and Europe could little from this. Does anyone think the leaders can be worst then they are now.

Obama McCain should pay up front for the votes instead of begging for people to send them money. They can learn.

  7. If you murder someone, and you have the power to change the law than it is complete OK to kill someone???

    Try it with common sense.

They were found at vote buying and try to change the law so vote buying does not cause much problems for them.

It is legal....In North Korea are other things legal. In the German Empire it was legal to kill Jews.

But that does not mean that it is OK, just because it is possible by self-made laws.

This is true only God's law is true,So lets us pray to God for Peace

  8. I never know whether to believe TOC, but they are reporting that DAAD is grouping at Suan Luang and that they will send between 300-500 to ASTV to shut it down. Also, apparently one of the PAD leaders has asked approx. 2000 to go to ASTV and protect it. It was reported that he said they could protect themselves anyway they saw fit since this is private property.

I do hope all of the above is BS, but that is what is being reported.

I think both sides should invited former President Jimmy Carter of America to bring these groups together and build houses for the poor.

We all have to pray for peace.

  9. I don't get it. How can the price of cheese in Thailand be a national disgrace? Thailand is not a major cheese producing nor exporting nation. If it were and the price of Thai Cheddar in Kuala Lumpur was less than in Bangkok then it would be an issue but, even so, hardly a national disgrace. The government imposes import tax that hikes the price of cheese locally. If Thais were major consumers of cheese maybe pressure could be brought to bear on the government to cut the import tax. But they are not so the price remains high for the foreigners who do eat the stuff. Thai Rak Thai as the party was named.

Anyhow, so the price is high. What percentage of your weekly food intake is comprised of cheese? If cheese were cheap and rice, chicken or fish were expensive then you'd have a point.

Cheese is always good with a nice whine, for some people Phil. :o

I live in Thailand and I eat cheese and drink wine almost other everyday with mine friends I guess I must be very lucky.

  10. Just add water

Local man uses water to make gasoline go further

    Pramote Channgam

A system to use water for powering vehicles is being pioneered in Pattaya, and is creating a lot of interest because of the rising price of gasoline.

    n5-Water-use-as-part.jpg
Narong Chaiyakaen (left), owner of an aluminum shop on Sukhumvit Road, and Tanet Kruakhun (right), owner of Dang Car Service, are experimenting with using water as fuel in vehicles.

Although liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and natural gas for vehicles (NGV) are increasingly being used to replace gasoline in vehicle engines, and are cheaper by at least half when compared to gasoline, they are also rising in price.

The search is now on for an even cheaper source of energy, and it might lie with the owner of a Pattaya aluminum shop.

Narong Chaiyakaen says that, due to the high price of gasoline, he has been working on an idea to use water along with gasoline or diesel to power vehicles, and has been working with researchers from Singapore and the Philippines to develop the concept, which he claims can save 30 percent on fuel.

There have, says Narong, been three vehicle prototypes tested successfully with this installation, and so far 80 people have placed orders for installing the system, which he says is an easy process taking only one day.

However, at present the company is still waiting for the official registration, and installations cannot yet be undertaken.

Using water as a co-fuel doesn’t cause any engine trouble with either benzene or diesel, and the motor still works normally, says Narong.

Narong, whose aluminum shop is located on Sukhumvit Road, is developing this system together with Tanet Kruakhun, owner Dang Car Service.

Anyone interested in this project can call 082 2089 626-8.

Maybe I can buy him out for 400 million baht. about 13 million USA. Ideas and Partners need if greater than 400 million baht

  11. I am shocked.

    I am truly shocked!!

How can these people do such a thing? how do they justify it to themselves?

Like another poster has said...This is an all too common occurrence.

    Whats going on out there?

So sad Jim, may you rest in peace mate.

Just maybe this is the Thai way.

  12. The only place I would buy diamond from is 'Diamond District' in Midtown Manhattan (between Sixth Ave. and E. 47th St.) The whole block are filled with diamond shops ( retail sale on the ground floor, while the wholesale on the top floors).

Since it costs a fortune to own a diamond. I have to make sure I'm dealing with the solid reputed establishment. These shops have an enourmous display of diamonds to suit's everyone's budget.

You also receive a certificate of the diamond you just purchased, along the receipt proving the amount you paid.

They allow you to trade it in anytime, with the credit the same amount on your receipt.

About 80% of these diamond operators are Jewish American.

They got their diamonds from South Africa dimond mines via Antwerp, Belgium.

Unlike some of the diamond shops at 'Avenue of Diamond' in Paragon, some of the owners whom I visited told me, most of their diamonds from Russia and India.

They don't have policy of buying back or trading in. One owner even suggest to sell it to a friend or a member of family. :o

    ..................................................................

Since I'm already up here, why not just throw in this interesting news.

There was a lawsuits against the giant diamond distributor- De Beers

The good news is De Beers had settled the suits in a tune of $295 millions :D at the end of last year. More detail, go to Diamondsclassaction.com

Although the dateline for filing for consumers is already passed on May 18, 2008.

The moral of this post is it's worth to deal with the good reputed shop. You got the real high quality diamond and the company stands behind you. :D

I am afraid most members will not believe you. Thanks for saying it better than me

  13. y astute predictions, in any event I hope you and your family are doing OK, Vic :D

Now we know where you save all that money from, when you're buying stocks, gold and all that (bottom priced) real estate back home in the desert :o

I have to admit though: spending some Baht 7.000 (US$ 200) for two people, for 3 weeks stay in a hostel in Chiang Mai is quite an accomplishment for a self-proclaimed high roller investor and predictor.

It makes all of us here on TV look like dummies in kinder garden.

If you're so good in predicting Vic, like the 50% fall on the Shanghai market, why didn't you predict 1 year ago that giants* in your own country would drop so bad and so deep also ?

Why didn't you predict the sub prime crisis, created by those wonderful geniuses in your financial centers ?

    * to name a few:

    Citigroup -57%

    Fannie Mae -84%

    Freddie Mac -89%

General Motors -68%; all from 1 year ago.

If you need more, just let me know.

For the man who predicted that Mike Huckabee would be the next President of the USA, you're not that good Vic, not all all, because he will NOT be the next president :D

Europe is being taken over by Russia right now. American shall not come to there aid. China will take over South Asia and South East Asia. While America takes over the Mid East.

Europe as well as the rest of the world shall just stand in the corner and cry like little babies.

100 baht to the dollars within 1 year. The pound shall be equal to one dollar and one dollar will get you 2 euros

  14. Hi peeps.

I want to buy my girlfriend a diamond ring (up to me..no flaming please)

My question is, would it be better to buy in the UK, or buy in Thailand?

    Thanks

I known I will get in trouble for this, but if I was to buy a diamond I will ask a Jewish friend what I should do. If you don't have any call a Rabbi in Bangkok. Their are at least 3 they have the knowledge. I doubt if anyone on Thai Visa have family that sell and buy diamonds. Go to the source and get it cheaper.

  15. I think I am about to be royally 'fleeced'. My wife, (from an Issan village) whose father died some 3-4 years ago (and before I met her) says she wants to organise a merit-making ceremony for her father.

I know that she has always missed him, and feels guilty that he spent most of his income on enabling her to attend a really good school.

However she is saying that the cost of this, is going to be about 500,000Bt!

From what I have found out elsewhere, (which is not a lot!) at the funeral, in addition to the usual costs of a Buddhist funeral, a payment of Alms is collected by the monks.

Since I doubt many of these Thai farmers in Issan, have pretty meagre incomes, an individual spending that amout of money, AFTER the funeral, is remarkably unusual.

I haven't yet said yes or no, although I have told her I think the expense she is considering seems far too high. The money is NOT going to be spent on any statuary in the local Wat 'graveyard', or donated to the Monks for work on their Temple.

What do people think is a reasonable cost for such an event (involving many of the local villagers) held in her house in Issan.

Your thoughts on this matter, giving some idea of what is usually expected of relatives at such an event, would be greatly appreciated.

I think she should pay one year salary she is making now. However you should not pay. Tell her if you pay she and father do not get credit. By the way I think this

  16. Ahh yes another one of Lao's posts quoting that eternal pessimist Jim Rogers. Jimmy (the sky is falling) Rogers has been a bear for the past 30 years and has missed out on every single major run in the markets over that time frame. Rogers has been touting equities in mainland china for a couple of years now, and has lost 60% of their value in less than a year, now he is taking a bath on gold and all the other commodities that he was hyping just 6 weeks ago. Good ole Jimmy is getting a bit long in the tooth, I sure hope he has something left to retire on :D

I've been telling you to short oil, short gold and go long the dollar for many months now, if you choose to listen to Jim Rogers then I hope that you keep enough funds dry so you can at least afford a taxi to take you to the poor house :D

Strange words from a man who was looking for accommodation last year in Chiang Mai for Baht 2.000 per week...and/or Baht 300/day... :o

  17. Just had a look at airfares for 2009, I can't believe what I found. Let me give you 3 examples for an economy one-month return ticket BKK-Berlin-BKK in march-april:

    - Qatar: 1000€, used to cost around 600-700€ in 2007-2008, that's a 45-65% price increase

    - Air Berlin: 900€, used to cost 600€, that's a 50% price increase

I'm afraid business is going to be quiet for Thai tourism next year...

Yeah, the normal tax are around 50E, but for this winter Lufthansa wants 330E tax+fuel surchange and KLM 440E :o

Every tourism destination far away will suffer, but the 2 Samui resort I asked have increased december price from 1600b to 2400b, maybe there is something that i don't understand......

..well...YOU understand but does the management of those premises understand that they're killing the goose with the golden eggs....? I suppose they don't realize what's going on in the world...

    An increase of +50% .............. :D:D

  18. If you sleep with a lady boy then you are a poof, no doubt about that, its a bloke, and if a bloke sleeps with a bloke then that means he is gay.

No if's or buts about it

You really sound homophobic and very rigid.

There are different kinds of lady boys, some intact, some not intact.

In the lady boy's brain, they usually feel like they are a female, so the THEM, they are a woman having sex with a man, even if intact. So to them, this is a heterosexual act.

To their admirers, there may well be lots of variance, but anyone observing life in Pattaya knows that the vast majority of TS chasers are heterosexually identified. Mainstream gay men have no sexual interest in TS's sexually whatsoever. They want men. TS's are identified as women.

What a load of crap, your born a man and you die a man, none of this make up or cutting and tucking can change your sex. I'm not homophobic at all, I got 2 mates who are poofs and I tease them and they think being straight is weird, some of there stories make me dry reach at times. Especially the story about one of them getting rammed and the next morning he was laying on the bed at a big brown shark just slid out the back door. I find gay people to be very amusing also at times.

But fact is a fact, ladyboy's a not female, no matter how you cut it. (or tuck it)

Why do you get so upset? Relax please Life is to enjoy
