  1. Does anyone have experience with China Air they can share?
  2. For a time Thailand banned anyone coming from Taiwan because of Covid so couldn't fly EVA. Now I don't see EVA has any flights from LAX to BKK. Remember what Asean Now said. About 80% of the international airlines' airport slots have been returned to Thailand. I think the other Taiwanese international airline does but is not nearly as good.
  3. I have been taking EVA to Bangkok. You know they normally fly there? How long are the layovers for ANA and Korean. And how long from there to BKK? In the good old days the flight on Korean was a little over $500 and you got a free flight after about 4. The last time I flew them I picked up an Asian Wall Street Journal while waiting for liftoff and there was a story about the founder and his son being indicted for falsifying airplane maintenance records. They are better now. I stopped flying Japanese and Korean airlines because Cathay had a 1 hour layover and less than 3 hour flight to BKK. When Cathay started falling apart I switched to EVA which was bad when I tried them before Cathay. Now they are better. IMHO. Plus I am nervous since China cracked down on Hong Kong.
  4. I have been flying EVA between LA and BKK. Currently no flights. EVA had decent prices, good service, good equipment, PE and about the shortest total travel time. Does anyone know of an airline currently flying that route they could recommend?

    Bangla Road

Thanks for the update LL. I never know what to believe regarding what the government says.
  7. fantastic! Do you care to share? What company, how much allowance? I love it when I'm wrong and something is better than expected. Thanks

    Bangla Road

I saw that but I also saw on Asean a photo of bars open with bargirls on Bangla Road. Were the bars actually closed and were they drinking tea? Sandbox thingy and all that.
  9. No symptoms for either. And the government not sure of the efficacy of their tests? Hmmm. "Foreigners should also be urged to check with their insurance companies if their policy covers them for quarantine and other expenses in the event of a positive test. " Has anyone found an insurance policy that would cover possible quarantine costs? 5555 What company would be that foolish? The policy would have to cost, umm, maybe $20,000? $30,000? $40,000? No problem for the rich tourists they want? But, then they got rich by not wasting money.
  10. Do it!!! But forget reporting the birds for flying the wrong way. 555
  11. So come, give us your money, leave, don't come back. I like the thinking! They should have people at the airport to hold the tourists upside down in order to shake any change out the pockets of tourists leaving. 555
  12. Can farangs cash in on this? I'd give the evidence to particular cop who would get a % in return for protection. 555

    Bangla Road

Thanks for the update. Is Patong able to circumvent the no alcohol thingy?
  14. No era was, or will be, perfect. I am well aware of how the American War (as Vietnamese call it) changed peoples' lives. All in all I feel blessed. I wish you did too.
  15. Thank you. Will check availability of METV when I see if Thailand opening up causes another outbreak and lockdown. I don't want to get stuck in LOS.
  16. I usually do three months twice a year (not calendar year). Though I am a bit apprehensive about that long of a time at the moment.
  17. I'm with you. Local numbers do no good if you are out of the country. Are they really trying for foreign tourists? Makes you wonder about the who they are are trying to reel in as I don't think people in Thailand need the Thailand Pass.
  18. Wow! A superiority complex? I like it! So nice to dump on others!!!
  19. So now the visa to get would be the STV through Thailand pass?
  20. Many people have "comfort pets" maybe this is a "comfort plant". Thai police need to be sensitive to the guy's mental health needs.
