But i did not think it would be as easy as it was pompeysi sorry about your bad news i hope you get it next time

  2. My wife got her Settlement visa for the Uk today :D But we asked for it to be post dated for 3 months and they have not :D . It is dated from this month so can we still go in 3 months time or ask them to change the date how long do you get to enter the uk once you have got the visa and how will a late entry affect her long term. The other thing is on the visa it states no dependants but we have a four month old girl who will be coming to the uk with us she has a uk passport. And my wife has a 3 year old boy from an old thai boyfriend who we hope one day can join us in the uk to. We put them both on the visa application form as family so why does it say no dependants on the visa :o Thanks for any help

  3. Applied for the wife's uk settlement visa two days ago so today i went on the visa tracking site and got this message 'The passport has been received from British Embassy, please collect the passport from the UK Visa Application Center where it was submitted'. Does this mean that the visa been approved?

  4. haha i guess i am a bit uninformed...i don't really have much money so i guess that's a problem also...

thanks for all the info though...i'm going to go check out some of those places you guys mentioned...i bought the 600 baht BTS card, so i'll be checking out more areas in bangkok...i think i'll start with siam sqaure.

last time i came to thailand, i did all the touristy stuff like i mentioned... i did the trekking up north, went to the golden triangle, stayed in guesthouses, did the boat tours and dinner cruises, train rides, etc. this time, i'm just looking to make some lasting friendships and find travelling partners...

thanks again for all the info! =)

Nana plaza it is then :D:o:D

  5. Orchard Towers :D

:D Yeah...but I doubt mazo would enjoy it. Anyways, the Sentosa Island and the Night Safari are great places. Plus, if you're into shopping, than Singapore would be one of the best places in the world, good quality and brand names are cheaper than in Thailand.

I will be there this weekend also, I booked a room at the Orchard Parade hotel, never been before but last time I walked past to it and was looking really nice, the rate isn't so bad either and the location is also great. The Marriott seems overpriced, the exterior and the lobby are very nice, excellent breakfast too, but the rooms...well they could have been better, definitely overpriced.

    Have fun!

I am happly married thank you so Orchard Towers is out of the question :o . I will look at the Orchard Parade hotel, has it got a web site thanks for the help

  6. haha i'm not a troll

i really can't find anything to do...i'm living with my mom for now so i just go where she goes, but id like to go off on my own soon and have some freakin fun!

ive been to bangkok in 2001 and did a lot of the stuff you guys mentioned...such as going on a boat ride on the river, visiting the temples, letting the tuk tuks take me around everywhere, etc...i havent been to any of the plazas or sqaures yet, maybe i should try those out in order to meet people my age...what do people my age do here in bangkok? go to bars and clubs? back in chicago, i usually just chilled out with my friends and played poker, pool, video games, basketball, etc. i also like to go camping and hiking...

oh yea, the 40 baht haircut was pretty nice...first i thought she was butchering my hair with the clippers, but she ended up doing a nice job...and she also shaved my face and cut my nose hair and gave me a shoulder massage...i think 40 baht was too cheap...

thanks for the all the replies so far!

by the way, is it worth checking out the zoo near the river?

If you are staying for a long time learn to talk thai it will open a lot if doors for you. I personly find S.E.A so deferent to England that even after five years here i still find things that make go wow. As for poker its illegal to gamble video games get over to jappan and pick up a new psp3 its not to far basketeball esay join a health camping and hiking get up north thailand. You are 24 now no need to stay in bangkok holding you mums hand S.E.A has many great sites to see ever heard of Angkor Wat thats only a day away the death railway one and a half hour out side of bangkok. I would say get out there and explore you will meet friends on the way

  7. So why bother???? :o

The wife had her's done on soi Bukow for around 6000

She is a woman who knows why they do things. They looked ok to me but she was not happy up to her she can do what she wants to do its her money.

  8. I am thinking about using Four Winds International Movers to ship some stuff to england. Has anyone used them ? or can anyone tell me anything about them good or bad. The companys is run in pattaya by a guy named paul wilkinson on first contact they look ok thanks for any help :o

  9. I had mine done at the dental cafe for around 10,000 baht and it bloody :o hurt for days after and to be honest no big difference. The wife had her's done on soi Bukow for around 6000 baht and still look great she tells me her teeth only hurt for a day

  10. Can anyone tell me if Dumex HI-Q 1-3 is available in England. We have been feedding it to our 3 month old girl but we move to england next year and i want to keep her on it. Or can anyone tell us of a good brand like Dumex HI-Q that is available in England. And if we change her milk formula will it have an affect on her

  11. Thats is bad luck Kurgen..... what a bunch of F@##$kers. My missus is supposed to give birth there next month...... now having second thoughts, heard too many negative things about the place. Surely they must do some good?

My missus had our baby there everything went ok she had a c section. If think the cost was around 35000 baht that was on the positive side on the negative side my mate had a bike accident and was taken to pattaya bkk it was the thais fault and she admitted it to the police. But when the insurance guy got to the hospital he told her to deni that was her fault. So then because no one would sighn the payment papers my mate was left six hours on a troly bleeding with bones sticking out of his leg i kid you not he was in a realy bad way. They would not even give him pain killers untill the insurance guy signed the payment papers which he only did when we got the police to come to the hospital. this place is all about money there have been a few other things about pattaya bkk that has out me off them i now use a hospital in bkk and would not use pattya bkk again. you could allways try pattya international on soi four

  12. Some of the replys you guys have posted are a good reason not to ask advice about personal subjects on the forums :o . Please try to get her some help if she refuses to do so then you have to make a decision to live in a veray unhappy way or leave. I dont think by the way she is acting she is just going to click back in to the the girl you knew. I personally think if you dont get real help and i mean real help things will get that bad you will get that sick of it you will leave anyway and it could end up in a veray messy way. There must be some reason why she is acting out of character try to find out why

  13. Wow man i do feel for you i would advise you to try to get her to go see a doctor It sounds like depression to me i sufer from bi polar depression and my mood swings can be unbearable for my partner. I keep it in check with meds but every now and then it gets that bad i just can not cope with anything. The hair falling out is a classic sighn of stress more comon in woman than men you can get depression at any time in you life but some pepole are more susceptible than others. I see doctor kavi suvarnakich at the bumrungrad in bangkok by the sounds of it she does need help the doctor will probley give her some antidepressants. pepole have difrent views on antidepressant but they have helped me although i had a tough time finding the right ones for me. I will say though living with someone with a illness like this is not easy ask my wife we do live a normal life we have a 3 month old baby and are veray happy at the moment but i have an illness and we have to live with that you have ask yourself can you ?. I have my illness for life i know that now but some pepole do get over depression and never suffer again so she might but she does need help. I will also add that depression rarely comes on its own i get real bad anxiety to a talking therapy should go hand in hand with the meds to get to the root of the problem but i dont know how easy it is to get in thailand i know its darn hard to get even in the uk i had to wait six months for c.b.t if you look in the health forum on thai visa they have some threads runing on this subject. So try to get her to the doctors to get a proper diagnoses but be warned there is not magic wand if she has got a mental illness the road will be hard i would not wish this on my worst enemy seriously :o
