This medicine is japanese favinopavir, which was imported since around june in tens of millions pills. With total order some 240mln stretching into next year.
from august the GPO started to make it in rather small quantities of millions, with total for this year some 60mln.
They cost some 1500b box of 50. On the black market from 4k per box ( stolen from hospitals).
charging for them in private hospitals 3x more than on the black market is a daylight robbery. For such i would refuse to take them until i negotiate price to below 2k.
Because they are only in a small dose 200mg they need to be taken some 10 pills per day. In india they have started to make them 800mg to be used specifically for covid. Its possible to get them on the net

I was given 10 days supply of favinopavir by my local government hospital 12 tablets 2 times a day, as far as I understand it government hospitals do not charge for covid treatment.

  2. I saw this thread and didn't think a lot of it until today when I my wife told me her niece is one of those infected. She works at the factory checking in new deliveries. She is in hospital with minor symptoms (mainly a high temperature) while her son (3 years old) and husband are in a hotel in Trang in quarantine.

  3. I was at the Satun crossing in January and was told that I would have to stay in Malaysia 24 hours next time, I also talked with a Visa Run company in Phuket and they have stopped using that crossing because of this.

I am due to do another run early April, I was planning to do the Andaman Club in Ranong but have now decided to go to Langkawi for a few days so will take the ferry from Satun.

I have heard that the Pedang Besar border is still good for coming straight back.

  4. I just got back from Savannakhet (non-o multiple) yesterday they were issuing tourist visa's as usual but I'm not sure on how many entries. The place was mobbed by laotions with a queue right down the street. They also closed the doors on time stopping a lot of people applying. I got there about 8.15 and was number 21 in the queue, the pick up the next day was a bit of a free for all, the rain didn't help.

I would suspect it's going to get worse before it gets better, from what I saw at the bridge - the bus was a fight to get on I would stay at the casino. It is more expensive but they stuttle you around, across the bridge and I also believe will take you to the consulate.

What papers did you take with you can you give me a list of what thy wanted

    Cheers buddy

Copy of wife's ID card signed and dated by her

Copy of wife's house book (tabien baan) signed and dated by her

I don't have the original marriage paper (wife lost it) so went to the local amphur and got a print out, which I believe is what is been referred to in the other post as a KR2, anyway easy to get from any amphur. A copy of that plus the original.

Copy of my passport main page

    Application form.

He did ask for copies of my childrens birth certicates which I also had.

    2 Photos

That was it, he took about a minute to look at everything asked for 5k and gave me a ticket to come back the next day for collection.

    Good luck

  6. Google chiang mai gourmet. Probably the best bacon and sausages in town.

It's really down to personal taste, I really like Chiang Mai Gourmet's bacon especially his American streaky, plenty of smokey flavour and his burgers are the best I've had, my kids love them. I haven't tried his sausages, the frozen pork sausages from Makro are good a little bit heavy on the pepper but I like them, the bacon is all streaky and not heavily smoked, it's good. They also have some Canadian back bacon in the freezer which looks good although I've not tried it.

SausageKing's products are okay but best to buy direct from him, as I don't live across that side of town I generally don't bother with them.

  7. We have a small fresh herbal juice business and also stock a few other healthy items. I have been constantly looking for a local media to advertise in that targets the permanent CM expat market (not tourists) and gets good traffic. I am willing to pay for decent exposure. Other than advertising here http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/forum/28-chiang-mai-forum/ (which I am considering, great traffic, but for some reason the banner ads do not show up on my computer???, how many others cannot view them?) I cannot find an appealing local media outlet. Perhaps www.chiangmainews.com but the tiny online banner ads do not allow any description whatsoever. I want to be able to mention at least 4-5 items and a link to our website.

Don't know if this helps but just my 2 cents from a frustrated potential small business advertiser looking for a popular media outlet. I do not know how typical our situation is but my guess is there are hundreds of small area businesses like ours looking for better exposure that does not "break the bank".

Have you considered Facebook advertising, with the right targeting it can be very cost effective. Also with the addition of a small amount of javascript on your site you can re-target people i.e. just display an ad to people who have already visited your site. With the correct setup you can also track conversions.

Expats living in Chiang Mai would be relatively easy to target, "lives in Chiang", members of CM related groups, gender, age and some behaviour can also be targeted.

To do it cheaply just target people you visit your site.
