  1. I've been coming here last 3 years, 6 months here and 6 months in states. Want to buy second hand car and put down healthy down payment. But now on TR visa, no WP or income here and neither does my GF.What are my chances of financing? My girl has been paying off her fino for the last 3 years so maybe she has some credit, plus all the money I've been sending might have some bearing. Plus I can show steady income from back home. I'm only thinking of buying a 250000 -300000 baht car with around 100000 down.

  2. ^^ Agreed. You need to up your deposit to at least 50% and then you'll have no problem.

what about if I'm on TR visa, not married, TGF with no job but willing to put big deposit down but on a second hand car what's my possibilites?Have proof of income from home country and have been coming here for 5 years with same girl.Had WP, buss year visa before but now just have dbl entry TR visa. I spend 6 months here and 6 months in the states.

    • First I'm getting my 3rd dbl entry tourist visa in US. I spend 6 months in Thailand and 6 months in the states. Is there any problems with this plan, I've done it last 2 years and this will be 3rd year in a row. Plus this year I need to write letter to embassy stating why I need dbl entry.Any ideas on what I should state besides saying I'm on holliday and all the info on my TGF. For instance her passport #, ID #. Should I give them her ph# ? I just tell them I'm on holliday and I live in Surin ?

  3. Can I bring any smart phone to Thailand as long as it has a card slot and can be unlocked.Or do you think better to sign up with company and use their phones like we do over here.If I bring a pad over then I imagine I have to pay a server for wifi.

  4. The most important thing is to show compelling reasons why she would return to Thailand.

If you can do that + write a nice letter of guarantee as to her air fare, medical insurance...lodgings etc so she presents no burden to the USA then there is always the chance. small yes but a chance.

I am one of the few I know that did take my girl friend... now my wife to the US on a tourist visa. But I did show compelling reason for her return along with my letter, tax returns, business info etc.

How will you present yourselves? Meaning as friends engaged etc? Purpose of trip?

I was clear with mine that it was for her to see the US & decide if living there after marriage was viable & to meet my family.

In our case it went well & she was granted the visa.

did you use lawyer, agent or did you just get forms and do yourself?

  5. I've been here for 4 years and have had many different visas. For last 2 years been living with GF for 7 months each year and then go back to USA for 6 months each year. Before that was living with her for 2 years continusly Now I'm on Tourist visa and want to get TV for GF but every lawyer I've talked to says no way. We have house and she has land in her name. I've spent thousands of dollars fixing up house and appliances. Are there steps I could do to show that I will return to Thailand. Like changing my visa to retirement or trying for year visa or buy car with finance or even buy a condo which would be the extreme. I have company now but have not had bussiness for 2 years. I know old subject and I've read many stories on this subject but could use some new info.Plus I don't want to marry her in America I just want to bring her over as friend.

  6. have poss. nerve damage in lower back, buttocks and lower leg. Went to Bumrungrad for tests and they want to do Mri for 14000 baht. any body know different hospital I can use . Still want good doctors though.

  7. You need a local address but if have that any office can be used. For Surin Province address believe you need to use the Korat office.

  8. I live in Surin and need to do extension 0n June 19th ,which is a Saturday so probably do it on Fri. My real question is where to go. Last year did it over near Cambodia border but was told that office moved.Even though you can report there.Plus is it better to do it near Surin or is any city ok, like Bangkok,Pattaya, etc..Lastly I forgot what are all the documents I need.

  9. :) I started company in Pattaya about 4 years ago. Haven't used it for last 2 years but pay annual tax on it.Was thinking of starting another bussiness venture but know now better to just put in girlfriends name, cheaper.First thought about transfer company but now maybe better to close.Tried to sell but no takers. Was told cost 25000 baht to close?

Also thinking having company might help me in future with some type of visa.Any advice is appreciated.

  10. Yes , Cambodia has come a long way in a short time , Lots of Atms in the cities , cash advance at many banks and Western-unions on your credit card , some charge 1% for the service , banks change travellers cheques and there are lots of money changers for some currencies at good rates .

Thanks for all the replys, I couldn't imagine a city with out ATMs.

  11. I;m thinking of going to Cambodia but worried now because I read there are no ATMs and credit cards are not accepted plus no traveler checks. The only way to get extra money is credit card advances which is very expensive. So what do you do bring a bunch of cash with you and hope you don't run out.

  12. post-66033-1254067874_thumb.jpgI live 2 kms outside of Surin and I don't consider it the village even though they do.On my soi every one is related it seems. I drink less and excercise more but am very bored at night. The inlaws come to stay at the end of every two weeks to sell lottery tickets and they get on my nerves even though they try not to. Every body get up early and there is a lot of noise early and then every one seems to quiet down or pass out in mid day. at first I was scared to be there and then learned to love it and know been having second thoughts on coming back. The young folks want to talk or party with me, the older folks look at me like I'm from Mars and everyone wants to borrow money, which they all have paid me back soon or later.Unfortuately I live with my GF uncle too.At first he was a big boozer but now he's sick but his friends still come by constantly at all hours and most eventually pass out on the big table that he uses as his home in the front yard.Anyways I could go on fore ever but the bottom line is that most days I like it here and have meet some good Thai people even though I can't communicate to well with them. I think I stick it out a little longer.Uncle Lud kicking it next door at the neighbors.
  13. I'm wondering if American football is shown much on TV there? Is it broadcat on regular TV? Cable TV? Avaiable on satelite? I would like to be able to watch it from my apt.

And another question. How expensive is cable tv or a satelite?

    Thanks,

    Chuck

I've been watching all games on asn ubc or true satellite and some on espn.

  14. I have a double entry tourist visa which expires on the 4th Oct.,I've used up both entries and extensions.I'm thinking of changing plane ticket home which means I only need about 1 month more.Do all I need to do is fly out of country and then come back in and I get a automatic thirty days or do I need to reapply for a new tourist visa.
