  1. I'll be home this year, Thaksin tells supporters

Thailand's fugitive former premier Thaksin Shinawatra told his 'Red Shirt' supporters on Wednesday that he expects to set foot in his homeland again in 2012.

"With all your support, I'm likely to return home this year. You probably think I've said often I'll come home. If I can't, please come to get me," he said in video address from neighbouring Laos.

    "Please come to get me"

    Shell out 500 Bahts a head,and they probably will,....what a pathetic,heart rending,desperate, statement.

Very cheap votes, if you ask me. Maybe he should visit the ditches where he got about 2600 people killed. Send him to Hague is my suggestion.
  2. As all these illicit activities happened mostly in government controlled hospitals, what is needed is not changes that will make costs more inconveniences to doctors and patients but rather the whole Ministry Of Public Health needs to be revamped starting with the sackings of all the top heads and then followed by the prosecution of all these officials who allowed it to happen in the first place. The Ministry of Public health and The FDA dept is lead by Baffoons and corrupted officials in the first place.I was recently told by a German Businessman in Thailand who is bringing in a new range of candy and also cough drops from Germany that he needed to pay Bt 15,000 first to the junior official processing the fda licenses and that later more will be expected if not , the fda will not be passed. He had only just lodged in his fda application about a week ago.

Everybody in the world know this is the most corrupt country in the world. To change it , it would be needed an big dirty war. That will not happen, and everything will be as usual. For now its an government that claim to get rid of the shit, but they are as corrupt as any. The next government will also claim their fight against corruption, but their disipples are already corrupt themselves. The overhead of this country should fired every corrupt civil servant, included the military and the police. After this process they should employ only new peoples in the important positions. And also implement the worst punishment for whatever that tastes of corruption . The Chineese shoot the <deleted>..ing head of the sh.t.

  3. I think, if he is a brave man he is going back and fight in the court or, maybe the easiest just do the two years. Two years of his life cannot be worth all the mess going on. And it cannot be worth that Thailand is going to hell. If he love Thailand and its people he will return, or otherwise he don`t love Thailand and its people, but than he should speak out and tell the trut.

  4. The 8 Red Shirts who lost their appeal today are:

Chaiyong Thurapee, 18 months prison, 8.3 Million Baht fine

Veerapat Chaichanda, 6 months prison, 1.8 Million Baht fine

Suthas Singbuakhao, 12 months prison, 5.3 Million Baht fine

Adisai Wiboonseth, 12 months prison, 5.3 Million Baht fine

Suchart Rakchanda, 6 months prison, 3.5 Million Baht fine

Banchong Kamhongsa, 6 months prison, 3.5 Million Baht fine

Parichart Poonokyung, 12 months prison, 5.3 Million Baht fine

Udom Kammoon, 6 months prison, 3.5 Million Baht fine

All the defendants confessed and all had their prison sentences halved because of it.

The fines were restitution/compensation for the extensive damage their arson did to the bank.

The arson was committed AFTER the Red Shirts in Bangkok declared an end to their protest.

    .

Yes, all of them confessed. That`s how they do it in this country. If you don `t confess you get the maximum, don`t matter if your gulity or not. Same as some other very low standard countries.
  5. Ï bought the ticket from www.thaiairways.co.th, I was in Thailand at the time. The numbers I tried to call are the numbers given on this web-sites contact info. I tried both the ticketing service on Suvarnabhumi and the ticketing service in Bangkok.

Actually it was in the Bangkok office they hang up after answered the call. Yesterday I vent to an travel agent in Nong Khai and they managed to change my ticket in about two minutes, and charged me only 100 BTH. Thats what I call good service wai.gif

  6. Today I ordered an return ticket from Bangkok to Europe. After I finished the payment I saw that I ordered the outbound ticket one day to early. After a check on Thai Airways web-site I found their contact info. I tried to call about 20 times before one person answered, but he just hang up when I spoke English. Is this "As smoot as silk" ?

I understand that I have to travel more than one hour to the nearest travel agent to get help to change my departure time.

This is a shame for Thai Airways. If you are in Europe and have to call the local Thai Airways office you get answer prompte.

I think they could give some è-mail adresses the public could get trough on if they are not able to answer telephones.angry.png

  7. Tuesday this week I submittet my application for an Non-imm "O" multiple entry at the consulate in Savannakhet. They did not require any bank- / income proof. I gave them copies of my wifes and my own passport, our marriage sert, our daughters birth sert, my wifes ID-card and the blue book. Wednesday I collected my passport with the multiple entry visa. No problems at all. We stayed at Nongsoda guest house (500 bth), but I think it`s more correct to call that place a shit house. I will never stay there again, because it was so dirty that I could not take a shower there. Anyway I got my visa rolleyes.gifWPFflags.gif

  8. Elevators and escalators kill about 30 people and injure 17,000 each year in the US. In 2003, a particularly nice doctor in a Houston hospital was decapitated. Yes, lots of safety stuff but sometimes those digital chips just fail badly. Don't revert to stairs though, the stats per user per hundred feet of elevation are worse.

It's kind of like driving when you are afraid of flying. You aren't doing yourself a statistical favour by switching.

Then there are motor scooter taxis in BKK! I hope there are no stats on them, I don't want to know.

I think I will stay home and watch TV until some wannabe bomber screws up next door.

I wondered while I was peeing in the toilet during an insane lightning storm a few weeks back, what it would be like if the water pipe got hit by lightning. Urine has a lot of electrolytes and may conduct electricity much better than water, ouch! Perhaps my singing would improve in the upper range. Of course I might only get one note out before I achieved a state of enlightenment.

I love Thailand! Everyone was very tolerant of me until I learned to speak Thai.

In norway, where I come from we haven`t had any elevator accidents as long I have lived, I`m 50.

How come this shit happens here ?

Don`t the authorities have any control at all ?

  9. Kuala Lumpur isues multiple non-O's based on marriage to a Thai national, if you can show 100,000 baht in the bank. Also need to show marriage certificate, wife ID-card and house household book, together with a simple note asking for a visa for you.

other nearestioption would be Australia, without need of showing money.

I newly got a one year multiple entry in Seoul. I think Seoul is closer to Thailand than Australia. I did not need any evidence of income nor evidence of money in any bank. Actually I got it based on my fatherhood for a Thai born child, not marriage.:jap:
  10. I just applied for a multiple entry visa and got it with 12 months validity. I understand I can leave and  re-enter Thailand as many times I wish.

I din not tell anything about how long I wish to stay each time, just that I needs to go abroad for work.

Maybe I misunderstood something here and I that case I`m very happy to be told so.:jap:

Your visa is valid for one year and indeed allows you to enter and leave an unlimited number of times during that year. Each time you enter Thailand you can stay for a maximum of 90 days, than you have to leave but can come right back the same hour, as long as your visa is still valid. By leaving and re-entering Thailand just before the visa expires you will get a new 90 day permission to stay. In this way you can get almost 15 months out of the visa.

Thank you very much. You confirm what I belived.

I got this visa at the Thai embassy in Seoul, South-Korea, based om my fatherhood of a Thai born daughter. I`m not married, but that wasn`t any problem. They did not require any evidence of income and were very easy about this.

I just provided copies of my daughters birth certificate, her mothers passport, ID-card and household book, and of course my passport and a photo of myself.  :D
