  1. A few years back during songkran, I wore a Darth Vader hat while enjoying a stroll down soi cowboy. It was in the afternoon. Not at night.

enjoying some friendly exchange of water with the strolling aqualaunchers .

Things were good. I was with my gf who later turned out to be my wife.

    Then...

without warning, some stupid falang came over and hit me on top of my head. What an idiot!!

What did Darth Vader ever do to him??

  2. I remember having one of these stories laid on me. My Thai gf at the time said her bum was real sore from a motorcycle accident. She said it was black and blue and swollen and she had to lay in the steam house for a few days and that's why she couldn't answer the phone. I went to see her after a few days and I asked to see her sore bum. She refused to show me. I remember that instant....... where it all started to add up. Like her learning new Australian and british terms...yeah.. I remember it well now. Welcome to the club. The solution is: move on.

  3. My wife's brother has a "wife" who refuses to go back to the area as her old drug dealing bf has said he would kill her the next time he saw her. I had always thought that that didn't make sense- it was a senseless fear. This video shows me she likely is justified in her fears.

I'm wondering if other persons like this man may actually feel inspired by his actions. There's always some percentage of the population that side with the perpertrator. That's the sickening part

  4. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say your overreacted.

    1) Its just water.

    2) If you ride a motorcycle, you need to be extra careful. You should thank the considerate people for making you more aware that you need to vigilant at all times.

    3) Those ladyboys are gonna be velly velly leery about sweet talking you because you have a short fuse.

    4) go get a massage and chill out.

  5. I had friends tell me I should dye my hair because I greyed early. I did for a while.

I don't anymore cause I'm older now. It feels much better to not dye the hair and walk around worried if people will comment on it. haha.

Seriously, its difficult to keep in front of the advancing skunk look .

    I'm happily peppered naturally now.

  6. If the BTS CCTV video is made available, and the security guard threw the first punch, I'll be on here saying how wrong I was to make the assumption I have. Won't happen for two reasons, firstly the CCTV video won't be released to the public, and secondly, I bet the guard didn't throw the first punch.

This is what gets me: If the guy was acting beserk before the incident, shoving guards, kicking trash bins, etc., why doesn't BTS just release the video to prove that Mr. Behan was misbehaving? If the video shows this, then there is no benefit in them keeping it hidden. I have a suspicion (once again ONLY my speculation) that it's not being released because it MAY NOT SHOW WHAT THEY CLAIM IT SHOWS.

If they just released the video, it would end alot of the wild speculation going on Maybe Mr. Behan deserved a thump on the head, maybe he didnt...I would really like to see the video before making a decision one way or the other. If it is not released (BTW Mr. Behan requested it be released on his television interview) it just might support what he's saying. Just my thoughts.

Why tip your hat? Why show your cards?

On a more pragmatic reason, bosses typically will not make a response until they have reviewed it with lawyers, PR, and such. Then the response will be measured and tempered to ensure BTS is squeaky clean.

That's my view. I may be wrong.

  7. I used to live in Texas and I tried to imagine what this situation would look like in a US context.

A Mexican immigrant (let's say a yard/lawn maintenance service provider), who speaks little English, comes to a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) train station, The DART security guard tells the Mexican (with a perfect Texas drawl, Pardon Me Sir) not to bring a banned item (let's say an Armadillo) into the train station, The Mexican is not very conversant in the local language, and tries to argue using Spanish mixed with pidgin English, which the blond blue-eyed American guard does not understand. The Mexican thinks the US rules are nonsensical (in Mexico Mexicans can carry Armadillos onto Mexican trains) and ignores the guard and tries to get onto the DART train, reasoning that American rules are stupid and that Mexican norms should apply in Dallas.

If this story ran in the Texas papers, we flag-waving Americans would throw the Mexican back across the Rio Grande pronto. And recruit another yard/lawn maintenance service provider in his stead from the Home Depot parking lot.

It wouldn't even have to be a mexican with an armadillo. If I tried to bring bottled water past TSA, I can expect to be restrained. If I then tried to push and kick, I can then expect to be slammed on the floor knee on top of the head, hands behind my back , taken into custody.

  8. This thread proves that people take sides and assume things based on experience from their past.

All I can say is I'm glad that wasn't me.

If he got caught up in something that was innocently blown out of proportion, then that is bad luck.

If his actions and words caused this problem, then better him than me.

In all reality, this is a very minor incident. Everybody involved can still go home. As pointed out in previous posts, some situations like this can become out of control.

I still think BTS should have denied service to this man because of his demeanor. Nobody on the public transportation system should be put in an unsafe condition from a person not acting in a civil manner. I expect BTS security will become tougher based on this incident. If the BTS denies you service, just walk away and try another means to get home that day. Don't go on a balloon manifesto.

  9. Thousands - millions go through BTS turnstyles without getting smacked by the guards.

Why did this man become so unlucky?

    Come on!!!

Why didn't those crazy baton wielding guards attack any of the other passengers while this "prince charming" was clowning about.

The video shows an intolerable man who thinks he is above societal rules. That's what I see.

I also find it funny that some of the people think its normal to feel angry and enraged after being clubbed in the head by a security guard. I, personally, would believe that the guard is trying to get my attention. Getting angry would be the last thing on my mind because it typically doesn't turn out well. I guess some people are just brought up differently.

  10. This stuff would not have happened if the man hadn't been drinking alcohol. I know its an assumption; but, after looking at the video, it appears the guy is loaded and in typical alcoholic form.

I wonder how this gentleman will get through Swampy immigration. They should open up a bar so people can pass the time while standing in line at immigration. Then we could see more of this type of behaviour on youtube.

  11. The last time I took a tuktuk, I negotiated a cheaper price; but, we made a condition to the agreed upon price. If there was rot-dtit, then I would pay more.

It worked out that I had to pay more; but both the driver and I had fun haggling over the definitiion of rot dtit.

    Enjoy the parade +1
