last night about 10:30 pm, about 9 planes took off from Suvarnhubumi. All of them looked to be small planes.

I Don't know for what reason these airplanes were allowed to leave. I expected the big Thai airplanes to leave but did not see that.

I tried the Advanced SystemCare. I went ahead and let it fix all the recommended issues on the front page. I didn't know what I was doing, just trusted the software....

I would be very careful about taking this approach. I just ran the TCP Optimiser and noticed that it was recommending changing the MTU value to 1500. I didn't allow it to change anything.

This thread here describes problems with TT&T/ToT DSLAMs (a network device, usually at a telephone company central office) with MTU settings that high. It stopped my Internet Banking working properly - almost a disaster for me trying to transfer money from one account to another.

I don't know. I just performed it on my second computer and am amazed at how fast the internet response is.

I just noticed that my modem wireless was much faster than the line speed from the modem. I need to check that again.

My computer #1 is a work computer and I use the wireless connection from True ADSL in Bangkok. I can access Youtube fine. Its an old Dell D610 Latitude. WIndows XP with older IE

I bought computer #2 new Acer Aspire 6935G and could not get it onto wireless so I plugged the line into the modem and that's what I am using. WIndows Vista Ultimate with IE 7.

Initially no problem with #2. It was much faster. Then I could not access Youtube videos directly. I had to back track and try again. I was getting error messages about not getting a page to display. Lots of extra work and frustrating. I switched to Firefox browser and things were better but it only took 40 minutes for the "connection interruption" error message to start surfacing. Firefox is more friendly on the retry. Just one click.

I find that both systems require a second click so while waiting for the first click, I'd hit the second click and got video faster.

I tried the Advanced SystemCare optimizer and it seems to have helped speed. I'll know if it cleared up the double click requirement.

I was curious is bandwith was the issue and if the ISP was identifying my computer and putting restrictions on it.

The older IE appears to not have the double click requiirement. I don't know if by being wireless or hooked up by a line- is that part of the issue as well?

Maybe someday I'll understand this but I have two basic questions.

1) My modem currently does not allow more than one connection. How do I allow other connections?

2) How do I get an upgrade to the supplied modem? Does the service supplier offer up to date modems?

Overnight IE is faster. It is more noticable on IE because that was really bogging down. I notice my CPU sidebar gadget is a lot less active. I wonder if spyware was being used.

Does this work on all browsers at once? Or do I have to specify a default browser.

I read that updating the modem could help so because I am on ADSL, I will ask to have this updated.

I am very happy with the Advanced SystemCare recommendation.

If you're using Firefox (if not - why not?), do yourself a favour and download Advanced SystemCare (free) from www.iobit.com. It includes a Firefox TCP optimiser - dead easy to use. The other elements of it will help your system, anyhow.

In terms of free download managers, I personally favour Orbit - as fast as anything I've seen.

I started my new computer on IE and it started to bog down. SLow as hel_l really.

I downloaded the Firefox browser today and its much faster.

Acer have really up there performance levels this year and truly are giving all the competition a run for their money. Also the design and look of the 6935 is very nice.

THe first real glitch I've found is it claims to have a Blu Ray DIsc; so I bought some Blu Ray discs and the computer says it doesn't have a sufficient grahics card. Hmmm that doesn't make sense. I guess I should have had the guys test a Blu Ray disc before I left.

I found an alternative site to upload and share videos. I couldn't upload onto Youtube.

I bought the Acer Aspire 6935 a few weeks ago. I use it because I needed the space and speed to encode HD DVD video.

I am not a computer geek but I know I am very happy to have this performance in a laptop. I paid about 69k baht for it.

Its fun. And I wanted it to be portable. It allows me to play with all the toys such as using my the LCDs as my computer monitor, skype and video editing (TMPG 4.0, Sony Vegas). I want to get into sound production as well. This computer takes the fear from buying software and not being able to use it based on other laptop limitations I had before.

I remember when ThaiVisa started this forum topic.

I too have decided to have a look see about what is happening during this state of emergency.

1) The soi dogs seem to be taking this all in stride but I can tell their are some rabble rousers among them. Last night I heard some barking that sounded like a few of them had a group meeting of 6 or 7. This morning, one of the stray outcasts was wearing a bandana.

2) The thai house builders seem more lazy than yesterday. I saw 6 sitting, acting like they were working, when only 4 were doing that yesterday.

3) While driving into Bangkok on Bangna Trad, there were many more cars driving ridiculously fast and recklessly. My guess is they were trying to beat the increased toll fares or wanted better seats for Bangkok Dangerous.

The front tire had hit that light pole. Both the driver and the passenger walked away thanks to seatbelts.

HS: lipo removes fat cells. The distribution of one's fat cells is genetically determined. The fat cells that remain will continue to gain and lose fat according to how much you eat, but you will have permanently less proportional fat distribution in the areas liposuctioned.

So in my case, at normal weight I have a flat tummy. If I get overweight, I'll start to have a fat stom ach but by that point the rest of me is already fat too. Whereas pre-lipo I had a bit of a belly even at normal weight.

It works well for localized fat deposits to get a more aesthetically pleasing distribution of fat cells. But you'll always have some fat cells remaining and the remaining ones will increase in size the more you feed them.

Love handles respond well to lipo and provided you maintain a normal weight, won't come back. At excess weight they'll be there but less prominently than they would have been at same weight pre-lipo.

Buttocks are more complicated since large area of fat and you obviously wouldn't remove all, just some. Trick would be getting what is remioved equitably distributed and risk would be a smaller but unevenly contoured butt. In case of belly and love handles they just target the whole and go for flat.

I had lasik done, here in Thaioland, fabulous results. About 7-8 years back, at TRSC with Dr. Eketet. if you do a search oin the Health forum you'll find lots of discussions of lasik in Thailand.

My gf showed up this morning - very radiant and beautiful. SHe is very happy. THe pain and bleeding was likely a choice on how she had the procedures done - the liposcution was done from insertions in the vaginal area. Lots of area to bypass to get the 2 instruments (scooper and sucker) to the belly. THen they did the vaginal repair. So, you know where she hurts.

50k baht for the belly fat reduction, 25 kbaht additional for the repair.

We talked. She knows in 2 weeks after the pain is gone, she will sing a more rosier tune.

She had done her homework and the doctor/hospital are reputable in the local area; just not well known to medical tourists. I was happy she had done her homework. She also had relatives to take care of her - that's another issue. Have someone there to make sure they keep tabs of you particularly after the procedure.

We looked at recent video before her operation. There is a big difference in her outward radiance. She is happier.

SHe mentions concerns about the money spent. I told her if she feels good about it, be happy. I think that helped her too. She didn't want to spend money frivolously.

Today she gets back to work and I know she will kick some ass.

I can't wait for 2 months to pass

sbk, the gf is getting her spunk back. She feels lots better after getting some food and some sort of "feel good" injection. I get the feeling after a couple of weeks she'll likely say she was being over dramatic. That's my impression now.

Oh and as long as I'm feeling frank...besides the anti-old stuff I had liposuction on my tummy more than 20 years ago because even at my ideal weight and exercising I, like many people, had an accumulation of fat on the belly and I just did not like it! Very pleased with the results which continue to this day. An unexpected side effect was a comparatively larger yet totally natural bust. Since breasts are essentially fat tissue and the fat has to go somewhere..with proportionately less of it piling up on the stomach, proportionately more on the boobs.

Personally, I don't think any surgery is bad either so long as results make you happy and done correctly.

I am interested in hearing that your fat stayed off the belly long term. wow. When I read up on liposuction, they didn't know if fat would grow back in the area or not - inconclusive. Why was I looking at liposuction? my back, my back surgery. I wasn't doing any exercise and things were piling up in the belly area.

Anyways, For men, would I get my ass back?? do you think?? Can I get rid of the love handles?? What do you think??
