  1. Hi,

    My visa expires tomorrow (Saturday).

However I have a few necessary things to do tomorrow and also since embassy opens Monday don't want to spend an extra day before getting visa especially given I have lots on tomorrow including doctors.

I know 1 day overstay is permitted. I'd rather not but will be helpful.

    UK passport.

Will there be a fine or stamp?

    Will it affect getting visa?

I heard some reports that immigration are being tighter at swampy and even had issues with people on two days.

Am I OK or should I be concerned and fly tomorrow?

    Gracias.

    8. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Nationals of certain countries are required to apply for a visa only at the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated Thai Embassy. Therefore, travellers are adivised to contact the nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate-General to find out where they may apply for a visa to Thailand

Doesn't apply as I have British passport?

    Thanks

  3. Hi,

I was due to go to Laos and get a new visa this week. Songkran through my plans and some lovely tourist threw water over me and my bag. Laptop dead. Thanks...

Anyway been waiting for people get back to work. I also thought since my visa expires 21st that I might go Vietnam for a break and get the visa there.

    Questions/point:

. Only had two tourists visas in several years. Both from Vientiane.

. No tourist visa ever from Saigon

. No tourist visa in current passport (have been studying so was on Ed visa)

... Anyone been Saigon recently and are they still simple regarding getting a TVisa?

Also need a break and haven't been to Vietnam for almost 20years. So would like to have a holiday there and travel around. Don't want to have to then go off to an other thai embassy elsewhere if Saigon has become strict on issuing tourist visas

    Thanks

  4. Need to get an ED visa.

    1. Have been here since july last but all extensions / immigration issues handled ; however I am on overstay now due to some issues last 2 weeks.....

    2. Not an issue as uk passport but unfortunately have to pay... my bad....

    3. Found a decent school and have all paperwork organised...

    3. Don't need to start school immediately..... so have a couple of weeks to ->

    4. Go to relax get out of thailand somewhere nice for a while

    5. Don't fancy Vientiane.... I know it's easy but I'd like go somewhere else just for experience.

Where else is good for getting an ED visa? I mean - simply. Is Savannakhet as straightforward as Laos?

Or Cambodia - if you have a good agent?

    Other suggestions?

Forget about using amazon.co.uk - you're much better off using amazon.com, the American site.

The UK is a very expensive place to mail things from, especially if you're using FedEx or UPS, etc.

I've ordered various items from Amazon, you will have to pay customs charges but Amazon handles them for you is you buy directly from them and not from their marketplace - this is an important distinction to make.

Lots of things don't ship to Thailand. E.g. Supplements.

I tried to buy a $10 item through Amazon and they needed to lock up another $55 for shipping and possible customs and duties.  Apparently, some of that would have been refunded if charges weren't that high.

So I went to AliExpress and got exactly the same thing for $10, all-in, landed in Thailand.

    They look good. Thanks.

  7. Hi,

Does anyone have any experience in ordering from Amazon to Thailand?

What's the general time to deliver? I. E. Presuming it's a next day delivery of a book in the UK, how long does it usually take to reach here?

And is the postage cost high? Meaning, is it cheaper to order a product to a UK address and use the normal UK and Thai postal service?

    Many thanks,

  8. Messed up.

Am here on visa exempt stamp that was renewed. Been here now just over 60 days.

Been in Bangkok and got sick. Just stomach bug. Got medicine from clinic. Never thought of getting medical certificate.

    I want to fly sunday.

I was supposed to fly Wednesday but cancelled the flight.

What do I do? Can I pay the fine at the airport? 4 days at 500 baht?

Or should I wait and go to immigration here on Monday?

I want to fly to Laos and get a Thai Visa.

    Has this hindered things?

What's the chance of being banned and/or not being able to get a visa?

    Help!

    Pauly
