I don't really believe this study and suspect ulterior motives. However, true or not, with vaping you aren't inhaling the real killer chemicals. If I were a smoker, I'd choose vaping every time.
By the way, I've seen several studies with findings in complete opposition to this one. Finally, I've been sat next to people vaping and haven't been bothered by it at all, whereas in the company of smokers my nose runs, I cough, my eyes water, I get a sore throat and my sinuses block up. It also makes me feel sick.

This is not only a problem in Chiang Mai. I say, exterminate all of them on a nationwide scale.
I agree wholeheartedly even though I like PET dogs. There are 20 odd in my small community they could start with. Noisy beggars.

How many countries in the world offer a person that´s only been 60-90 days in the country a possibility to get a retirement visa the same day in only a couple of hours? That with the same relaxed request of money in the bank or income as well as not many paper, in a fairly developed country?
You can just take the money in the bank that is only 800K baht here, in relation to other countries. 800K baht is about 25K dollar.Phillipines: Between 50-75K dollar for retirement visa
Malaysia have a special program for 10 years. Financials 87-125K dollar and a monthly income of 2500 dollar. For regular retirement 37K dollar.
Vietnam do not have a retirement option, and can not be considered an option due to the lack of development.
Cambodia is totally out of the question. Lack of development and health care puts a stop to that directly.I was waiting for it, doesn't usually take long for a a blinkered, rich, spoiled brat, teachers pet type to come on here and start preaching to his fellow expats about how lucky we all are to be here, despite the recent clampdowns. Many of those expats, despite supporting a Thai wife and family, spending their money in the country, being completely law-abiding and sticking implicitly to the current immigration rules will find it hard to deposit 800,000 in the bank, especially if they've made plans based on using the income method. It's normal for Thais to change horses in midstream because it isn't in their nature to plan ahead, but for farang it's part of life and the current short notice makes it difficult for them to change their financial plans. Of course, for "Happy and rich" types, it matters not one jot, and they can sit in their guilded mansions criticising those less fortunate.
It'd be preferable if you and your mates would either stick to the thread in hand or just keep quiet, it's difficult enough dealing with people like BJ without your sort aiding and abetting him.
Sorry for going off-thread myself, but these "Holier than thou" types are getting right on my nom.

There are many penniless people who unscrupulously declare false income. These is from personal accounts from other forummers here.
I don't think there are any penniless people here, just people who'd prefer their 800,000 invested elsewhere. Some people on here making out that most who're doing the monthly income method are liars, crooks and scroungers. It'd be nice if people just stopped being holier than thou and supported their fellow expats.

The funny thing is that there are or were two shingles on the building:
- "Chon Buri Immigration" above the main entrance door
- "Pattaya Immigration Office" on the wall to the right of the main entrance
Can't work out if that's an old or new photo. I never hang around to admire the architecture, am usually in and out like greased weasel ...t!

Far as I know all he's done is predict how many seats Pheu Thai will win. If that's arrogance, so be it. How does taking power by force figure in the arrogance stakes?

rubbish. but if you worry about the value to dollar, you can just sell your BTC into USDT (or TUSD) and it will be worth exactly the same amount (1$ per)
if you have 100,000k USD in USDT, in 10 days, it will still be 100,000 USD. doesn't matter if bitcoin went to down to 5000 or up to 15,000
if you bought Bitcoin through a broker here, then I assume that if you wanted to change your coins for UK pounds, then you'd have to register with a broker in UK? I can envisage all sorts of problems with them wanting local address, bank etc. I could be wrong, but interesting to know for future reference.

The problem is that many are here using the perfectly legal monthly income method as per immigration rules and now have to change all their financial plans in order to put 800,000 in the bank. Easy for you and the rest of the well-off on here, not for the majority of people. Hate it when people make out that 20,000 UK pounds is a trivial amount, I can find the capital but not easily. Also have to take into account the weak pound at the moment and could get worse because of Brexit.

Never could work out why alcohol and being a good religious person don't seem to mix. There are many things I'd ban before booze, ie hypocracy, bad driving and military coups.

Why wouldn’t the puppet master interfere in the workings of his creation.
That could be true, but how is giving an opinion that Pheu Thai would win 300 of the 500 seats interfering in the party's internal affairs?

Like Thaksin or loathe him, since when is giving a personal opinion on how you consider a party will perform interferring in an election? This is just grasping at straws in order to bar PTP from said election. How low can this junta go? But but Thaksin....

If that's the area where most of the crime is occuring then IMHO the Thais are right to target that sector. The British police also identified the problem and tried to remedy it by "stop and search", but that was nipped in the bud by the various left-wing, PC groups. I'm sure if the black peoples' papers are in order, and they aren't committing any criminal acts, then they have nothing to fear. This is more a case of finding where the problem mainly exists and committing precious police resources to it, instead of wasting them where it's not needed just to appear PC. The Thais don't tend to do PC thank goodness.

I'm living in Thailand since 12 years;
I never saw a conductress in a big bus in Thailand .
And in this article it is written the driver, a man , was not the conductress , a woman I guess ?
I've travelled on Thai buses several times and each time there was a conductress (or hostess if you like). That was in my first six months here, my twelve years since, I've never gone near a Thai bus. Knowledge is a useful thing.

Mine (from mid 2018) says income.

Very True- when I was asked I had the letter and so has every other person who was asked for added proof. I was attempting to try and indicate that if they accept letters etc as added proof- they could hopefully be 'convinced' to accept it as primary proof if no BE letter. Whether they will or not remains to be seen
There's just one problem I can see with that, and it is that my UK civil service pension P60 letter and my original state pension letter, although signed, are just copies of originals. I don't think I've ever had an original signed letter from my pension provider. If immigration agreed to accept pension letters, would they accept the copies which we get sent, or would we have to go begging our providers for originals? Taking into account the usual lack of enthusiasm from my provider and the inefficiency of the postal service in my area, I don't give much for my chances.
I was asked several years ago to produce them as secondary proof to the letter and they were accepted.

I've learned which are the best days and times to go for both my 90 day and yearly. Yesterday I merely chalk up to new facility "jitters", but it was nothing serious. And today, from the time I got out of the car, till the time I had my new 90 day, was less than 5 minutes. I have scanned color copies of my passport, 4 pages to a sheet of paper, as well as all relevant documents. Once had a guy there tell me that if everyone did theirs the way I do mine, their job would be much easier, and faster. But then, I've always been something of a fanatic for keeping things organized and neat.
Scuse me while I have a quick puke.
