I tend to agree with Gustavo Petro ,
“A developed country is not a place where the poor have cars. It's where the rich use public transportation.”
If people were truly serious about saving the planet then focusing on improving public transport would be better than getting everyone into an automatic electric vehicles .

The type that are happy enough here and don't have any serious issues with the things mentioned.
Agree with Moonlover. Those living a chilled out life away from the tourist areas don't seem to complain as much as the bar stool brigade.

So iw was fabricated in the first place?
Looks that way. She was blocking route one to the trough of plenty.
But those that wanted her out of the way have now had a good feed and are content to sleep it off. The means served the end.

Now , we just need one or two more falangs behaving badly for the media and we will hear the PM proposing that Thailand can be the hub of the groveling apology.

The Thais love a bit of sarcasm as much as anyone. They used the same phrase with the Swiss guys visit to the cop shop.
The officers on duty certainly found it amusing.

You keep saying you want MORE people to visit!
This IS NOT the way to do that
It's called Thainess. Whenever there is a shortage of tourists , jack the price up for those that do come and the financial status quo is maintained.
That's their strange theory .

If you come from a country where traffic drives on the right it's easy to forget to look to the right when crossing a Thai road.
That said , I hope they can somehow trace the pick up driver using CCTV and bring him do justice.

Brilliant idea.
This will stop drinkers in their tracks. Alcohol sales will surely plummet. The Boon Rawd family will be out on its ear within a year.

Without naming names , is this a Chinese , Japanese or Korean air conditioner ?
MIL bought a Chinese unit last year. At first it also made more vibration noise at some speeds. After about a month of this it settled down and the noise stopped occurring.
Other than that she is very happy. Cooler than our 9 year old Mitsubishi according to my wife.

OP, why did your doctor take you off the omeprazole ?
I also take this and find it very effective. However, I try to get by on taking one tablet every other day rather than daily. Mostly works out OK. If I get any reflux, rather than increasing the dosage I just chew on 2 Antacil tablets which bridge the gap if and when necessary.

I know that there are a lot of guided tours from BKK.
I am wondering if it is better to take them or to travel on my own. I want to see the military sites as well as have a nice weekend away.
Any assistance would be greatfully appreciated
If you have your own car it is the best way to go. If not hire one for a few days. You won't regret it. Withot wheels some of the places will be time consuming to get to and away from. With your own transport you can easily see a whole lot more.

Totally different experience. Our house was built 8 years ago and we started off with round fluorescence lights.
OK but not very bright. Our electrician advised we change to the round LED lights as use less power and a bit brighter.
Only 1 out 4 has died in 4 years of use plus I like the fact no starter is needed so no flickering. Also cooler than fluorescent light.

None. On our occasional visits to Bangkok we are mostly based on a main road so just flag down a passing taxi. If not on a main road there is usually a passing ' WIN ' to get you to the ' bahg soi ' if too far to walk

Same here. Don't go to Bangkok often but when we do just flag down a passing cab. Never an issue ( in the daytime at least ) On the one or two occasions when our hotel is off the main drag there is usually a WIN service up and down the soi. Never thought about using one of the above services since the need has never arisen. If the wife is not with me tend to take a bus or train , the latter option also avoids traffic jams.

It's illegal for foreigners to be farming as work here.
What visas are they here on, if they are below retirement age?
How can they own the land they are farming?
How have they registered the house in their name?
They think it is so isolated to be 30 minuites from the city, lol
Also, they dug the well by themselves..haha, with shovels?
I am detecting a wee bit of outrage so far
But seriously , foreigners building a house in Thailand is not exactly something new.

Still is is you choose not to live in a tourist ghetto. I would much rather all the Chinese and Russians were concentrated in a small as area possible than spread out evenly throughout the country. I have yet to see a Russian , Indian or Chinese tourist.
