Can I ask what channel she's watching?

Some Chinese soap thing in the living room. Not a regular TV channel. One of the options on the free TV box 3BB provide.

Before she took over and I retreated to my man cave, I was watching the news on TNN. Also no problem. We are in Petchabun.

and one from a banner I had made up and put on the gate

    Best method IMO.

Sold 3 houses in Bangkok without agents. All the adverts I placed online on various platforms only garnered a slew of phone calls from agents offering to do what I had obviously already done.

The sign on the gate method produced instant results. Everyone in the neighborhood who saw the sign contacted friends or relatives and a sale followed within a fortnight.

No documents required, it's very early days on this, maybe downstream things will change

Yes, I would not be sùrprised.

Back in the early 1980's , any foreigner living in the country for more than 180 days per year had to obtain a tax clearance certificate from the revenue department.  This had to be produced upon departure at Don Muang. The amount of tax calculated was a couple of thousand baht. However, if you could get a civil servant to act as your guarantor,  any taxes were waived. There used to be several of these moonlighting civil servants hanging around outside the revenue department and for 500 baht they would act as your guarantor.

Many years back I stayed in 'the village'  which is actually Portmerrion and in North Wales for two nights, it's a very beautiful and memorable place.

I think we were both lucky to stay there many years ago.

Back in 2020 I drove past it with my wife on the way to our hotel in Barmouth. We had it in mind to spend a few hours there but couldn't get into the car park ! Jam packed solid with day trippers which somehow took the shine off visiting. We went elsewhere for a walk.

One of the greatest films of that generation.

The film, at the time, did not get proper credit from critics of the NYT, and other rags.

Now, in hindsight, even those critics must admit just how great Peckinpah's film truly was.

    It was his masterpiece.

Yes. A classic of the time.  Right up there with Kubricks Barry Lyndon.

Kubrick is not an easy man to work with.

A couple of anecdotes about working with him on Full Metal Jacket. The second one at 5.00 minutes in is brilliant. I would have loved to have been there when it happened

  6. Try to find a lightweight Thai worker and get him to paint the roof Thais white on the outside. This will reflect a lot more of the suns heat.

If the bar is outside you are up against since the slightest breeze blows in the hot air.

    same idea ,,,,,

on a Non-O Marriage ?  you could keep funds in a joint account ..  and transfer  back to to your personal acct  for the two months necessary ..   not 100% but it covers for 83% of your time

I asked about this at our bank.

They said if one of the account holders dies then legally they are obliged to freeze the joint account until probate has been completed.

They just advised that if my wife was given my account pin number she could just withdraw cash from my account until it was empty. This is illegal and they know it but TIT.

If doing this anyway , best to learn how to make cardless withdrawals.

The safe I bought is bolted and glued to the floor out of sight. Easy to use and bypasses the bank altogether. Not like I'm losing a fortune in interest.
