Also the advantage of having dogs is you can carry chains. Quite a useful weapon. Better than a pool cue I can tell you that. -

Depends. A couple of Pitbulls or Rottweilers tends to calm them down -
Whilst I do like Thailand and have done for years, I have to sit back and weigh things up as I have approached middle age, and I am ready to settle down. It seems the obvious red light activity and full moon party degeneracy is not going anywhere but yet nationalism is just as high as ever in Thailand after decades of this crap being in their faces and I think the social engineers may try and blame tourists for any woes in the nation here on out, despite an obvious and easy move would be to crack down on degeneracy, or just embrace it. Not to mention I have seen what happens amongst the locals and yeah the tourists stuff is very docile in comparison. Thailand is definitely not Norway or Switzerland. Personally I don't have to put up with this. A lot of Westerners in Thailand will be moving to other SEA countries (not the Philippines, that place is a post apocalyptic hellhole), and with regret because overall many of us like Thailand and Thai people. It's a shame.

Belgian man scammed out of 8 million baht by female Thai soldier
kevozman1 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Compare the murder rate in Thailand to Belgium. I used to live in some of the worst areas of East London and what I learned pretty fast is that many other regions around the world pose much more of a threat. Western Europe is not a region I am worried about, and most people are the same. -
The abrupt welcome on my 3rd Visa Exempt
kevozman1 replied to popabear's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There are ways to treat people. Say if a deaf 80 year old Chinese man turns up at Rome int airport, and there are question marks on his visa, should the officer give him a clip round the back of the head and tell him to hold on a while, or behave in a respectful manner, especially considering the individual is vulnerable and explain in a polite way what is happening? -

Overall Asians don't really do respect the way you may imagine despite some clowns online with their goofy opinions. It's more about what they are perceived to have done and if there are any consequences for not acting in a certain manner. Actual morality and doing what a person thinks is right is more the trait of a European. Thai people are definitely not the worst in Asia for this. Many people are considerate and warm hearted, but still it's not that great overall either. Bareable I would say. -
This has been happening for over two decades in Western countries. Foreigners can use excuses to avoid deportation and citizens would use excuses to get leniency on crimes of getting higher priorities on whatever welfare/handout they are after. Common excuses include things such as claiming to be homosexual, or having a 'mental illness'. It all needs to go and by that I am talking about the ideology that has been pathetically getting worse for decades: Modern Liberalism. Feminism, crying about racism, pretending to be mentally ill and all of that <deleted> is done with by scraping that poisonous ideology.

If you're the typical lovey dovey type of Western male then don't even worry about it. You will get rinsed and be another statistic whining about Thai women. If you're not, then it will come down to if the woman sees you as an provider or her romantic interest and that will be based on if she is genuinely attracted to you or not. It's fairly similar in other places, but I find Thai women are quite extreme in this.

Belgian man scammed out of 8 million baht by female Thai soldier

I often wonder if these characters are just actors or guys coming over to SEA after getting an inheritance. They seem casual in throwing such large sums of money around. You need to be part of a multi-national or play golf with established business people in Thailand to put any money up or do any substantial deals. The only country in SEA I would consider buying anything bigger than a second hand motorbike or car is Singapore.. maybe Malaysia but even then probably not. He could have bought a little apartment in Brussels with that 8 million baht and have around €1k going until his account every month. And most importantly it's safe and trustworthy way of investing money. -
Trump on Immigration: "We need a lot of people coming in."
kevozman1 replied to John Drake's topic in Political Soapbox
Yes that rhetoric doesn't work on me. Most of these non-European groups have even higher levels of dysfunction. Thais are one of the only groups outside of Europe I take seriously because I see gratitude, consideration and having respect for others. They create places that are comfortable to live in. I will give props where it's due. Some of these other groups you don't want to live around, and I don't care about the minority they brain drain to Europe from from craphole South Asian or Sub Saharan dumps, that's not a realistic depiction of those people or the societies they are from and it's only a matter of time before your residence starts resembling theirs. -

The West is continuing on the slow decline that has been happening for decades and this time there isn't another region per se to flock to. For most the only good solution will be going into the sticks somewhere you're content. If you're on the grid during the rest of this century then you will just be flooded with South Asians and Sub Saharans and you will not want to stick around. One of the only advantages I have over most others is it happened to me decades ago so I know what's up and not to stick around. -
Deterioration of Dining Quality and Experience
kevozman1 replied to Patong2021's topic in General Topics
I have noticed it regarding Thai food served around the country, which I did used to like eating, but in recent years it's hit and miss whether I enjoy it. Quality does seem to have gone down. Mookatas don't seem to be what they were and I used to live eating at those places. I tend to prefer Western restaurants thesedays and from next year be in a rural joint where sourcing local ingredients is easier for home cooking. -
Four Pit Bulls Attack Owner’s Nephew in Chachoengsao

Dogs are predators and therefore violent by nature, same as we are. It's just the bulldog varieties have a lot of muscle and big jaws so they are harder to fend off than most other breeds of dogs. -
Foreign Tourist Swallows Traffic Ticket in Odd Pattaya Incident
kevozman1 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
It's the difference between a buck broken double digit IQ person and someone with decent levels of critical thinking in the three digit IQ range. I don't just read something and accept it. Pattaya is green lighted by 'le authorities' to be a giant place of ill refute. If the authorities made a move where they are cracking down on degenerate behaviour of all sorts (I wish they would do more so in Thailand) then I could understand reporting on everything and getting the place squeaky clean. But that's a fantasy tale. Since the first time I ame to Thailand 20 years ago Pattaya has been degenerate. Some tourist eating a traffic ticket should be filed under the category of 'extremely petty incident' and that's about as far as it goes. It's exactly why next year I am heading permanently into the sticks. The grid is full of cretins who aren't even aware of their own consciousness at this point. The coof has exacerbated this furthermore. -
Foreign Tourist Swallows Traffic Ticket in Odd Pattaya Incident
kevozman1 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
My point was reporting on petty incidents in the most well behaved areas is either pointless or pathetic, depending on how one views it, but in a town/small city such as Pattaya that has a lot of crime, and a lot of serious violent crime at that, it's questionable and imo just targeting certain demographics, on this site mostly those who are European. Admittedly it's not just the site. There are a lot of grumpy old men who live in tourist ghettos who spend 23.5 hours a day in their condo who like commenting on other tourists/expats out of misguided frustration and spoilt brat non-White incels in Western countries who like to comment on a French guy farting loudly on a train article, whilst the local population are putting bullets in people's heads and dragging their girlfriends down the road from their motorbikes. -

I don't see petty incidents as news. Are ridiculously minor incidents like this given any coverage in your home country? It would be silly to waste time reporting on such incidents even in low crime cities within low crime countries such as Japan, Norway etc, but in Pattaya, Thailand? Come on. -
Japan dethrones Thailand as top tourist spot
kevozman1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Ok maybe for people who like cities and have no social skills or are highly introverted, an East Asian city could be the preferred place. I prefer to be around actual humans somewhere that's by the coast in the tropics or up in the mountains. Moving from Europe to sit in a Japanese city, that is a rip off of Western European cities (like pretty much all major cities now) just doesn't do it for me, but hey everyone has their own preferences I suppose. -

Japan dethrones Thailand as top tourist spot
kevozman1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Dethroned? What does that mean? Thailand is never the country with the highest levels of tourism. Just off the top of my head I can think of 5-6 countries that get more tourists than Thailand every year.. but anyway Thailand or Japan? Thailand. Mostly because I don't want to live around a bunch of weirdo robots + Thailand is cheaper and tropical. -

Yeah, because these very petty incidents from tourists/migrants is that big of a deal.. Just to put things into perspective, this week a Guatemalan illegal migrant set someone on fire on the NYC subway. A couple of weeks ago a Chinese migrant in Australia stabbed a toddler. These are the kind of incidents that need to be reported on, at least for those of us with a fully functioning brain and good sense of morality. Or those of us who aren't stuck in our Thai condo coffins or mummies' basement in the West. -
I've had enough of the Tourist Ghettos in Thailand!
kevozman1 replied to BarBoy's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
You may be a troll but you do share the sentiments of others who want to 'get away' from tourists/expats despite being one themselves. Those types usually have a misguided unwarranted sense of superiority, or are pretending to be someone they are not, and the absence of people closer to the culture they were brought up in means they can masquerade with less risk of being exposed. Saying that I totally get wanting to be somewhere remote/rural. And being out of tourist traps is generally more relaxing and more wholesome. Anyone who is genuine, just tour around. Unless you speak Thai and have hobbies/passions in life then you will probably get bored though. -

I must admit I am only so kind with non-Europeans. Even Thai people that overall I general like need to behave a bit better before I could be so generous. Why you guys continue to be so generous I have no idea. Maybe it's just boomers following the cucked out version of Christianity they were sold. When did Asians or Africans move to Europe and do something for the people? Trust me they never did.
