  1. Anyone being antisocial who is on a tourist visa - blacklisted for 'x' amount of years depending on the offence. BUT HOWEVER before that happens the authorities should clamp down on red light district activity and full moon party shenanigans. They practically invite these groups of degenerates. BUT AGAIN HOWEVER I have no power regarding this and so I just generally stay cool about petty stuff. As far as I am concerned Thailand at this point would thrive with a clean society and push for clean living expats/tourists.. but agendas, higher powers, I don't know what the plans are for this realm and why I don't get too worked up.
  2. Very sad and I hope the authorities are going to put as much effort into this as possible and media outlets with integrity should keep updating on stages of SAD AND GENUINELY HORRIFIC events that happen to locals by locals with more vigor and empathy. This kind of thing is not even that rare and why I don't really want to hear about a Portuguese woman getting her titties out or a Drunken Brit getting into a petty brawl being portrayed as somewhat equal offences and incidences as what was reported here. Those with a soul and conscience would put such articles into a sub section, with main articles such as this getting the attention.
  3. I'm glad you take it like that, but really what I am trying to get people to wake up to is why this site reports specifically of foreign people commenting the most petty offences? Specifically those from Western (read White) countries. I mean this site has always been a bit like that when it was ThaiVisa, but now it's a total clown fiesta it seems. Again having integrity and honour I don't like perversions of the truth which this site seems intent on portraying.
  4. Her name has both Arabic and Indian origins, but knowing (personally, in the past..) some of the degenerate women from Europe who travel to Asia she may have changed her name due to some spiritual woo woo yoga nonsense and other trends. Maybe. Also there are lots of people of North Africa decent in Portugal, Spain and France so maybe from there. But anyway guys, this is all petty. I probably know Thailand better than most of you reading this. The nation usually has a murder rate 3x or more than an average European country (by murder rate) such as France or England. Whilst I do really like Thailand, I have these things called integrity and honour. A woman walking around with her titties out is very petty compared to what happened in Thailand that day, or even the Southern Provinces alone. Whilst I want Thailand to start getting rid of the the more trashy visitors, the authorities still allow full moon parties and an open red light district scene. Best thing you can do is just get on with your own life and let things play out.
  5. I would say more like Monaco or Switzerland if you're talking really rich. Or an exclusive Island somewhere. Thailand is still a nice spot. Not that many tropical areas that are relatively safe and I have known quite a lot of expats that have done very well for themselves. Maybe not Swiss villa looking onto the alps type of guys, but still.
  6. Probably a liberal pretending to be a 'free thinker'. I don't fall for social engineering but if you have been around you know Muslims cause trouble everywhere, and furthermore if you know what is written in the Quran and the Hadiths, you know for sure they are not compatible to live with anyone else on a friendly basis. Oddly enough they do have one ally in Western liberals, but that is the clown fiesta I want nothing to do with.
  7. If cultural appropriation was legit, and not something that only exists in weirdo leftist circles, then I would lose my mind travelling. The world has basically copied Western Europe unless you go into the mountains, Thailand included.
  8. That doesn't really work out since in this case and many others the culprit is not of an English speaking country. Perhaps a moderator could interact with some of the publishers and would care to explain why they target negative news at a certain demographic? Unfortunately for them I watch Thai news and I know what happens, and to say a guy getting picked up on DUI is petty is an understatement. I mean it would be a good idea to explain yourselves, because you guys are already a shadow of what ThaiVisa was and lets be real, forums are already somewhat of a remnant. We don't have to click on your site.
  9. If you're living in any country you should learn the local language. It's a respect thing and also has pragmatic benefits. No excuses really.
  10. Regardless, I don't want to see people having sex in public, mostly due to children seeing it and if it opens up too much I will have to witness obese whales getting jiggy. Nightmare fuel. Totally understand Thais not wanting to see that also. However being a balanced individual it needs to reminded this kind of thing is petty, especially in Thailand where if you know the country properly you know this is petty compared to what goes down.
  11. It doesn't matter that much because 5 minutes later there will be a story of a local guy tying his girlfriend to his motorbike and dragging her down the road. It puts things in perspective.
  12. The Russians I have come across are admittedly not friendly (they don't smile much but it's not a crime) but they cause no problems. Honestly I don't see non-Thais causing much trouble in Thailand, and on the rare occasions I do it's usually a drunk Brit or Australian, or a Chinese person taking rudeness and crudeness to a new level.
  13. The foreigners posting here are mostly behaving like children shouting into the wind who have not really worked out the world. Is it because she is Russian? Maybe but probably not. Is it because she is Russian and connected? More likely but I don't know. Do you as a foreigner have any say in what happens? Absolutely not unless you are an exceptional foreigner with a voice that carries in high places. Time to grow up guys. I assume a lot of you come from Europe where in your own countries foreign nationals of certain ethnicities are coddled. Better you concentrate on that. At least you somewhat have a voice there.
  14. How on earth did any Thai people end up in Haiti? It's basically the other side of the world and a location even other Carribbeans avoid.. Strange.
  15. Old comment but for anyone reading NEVER put down a three month deposit. They try this on in the Philippines because they want to take your money. If you think scamming is bad in Thailand, the Philippines is a whole new level. Just be firm with one month deposit or forget it and walk out. Especially in Cebu. Not many people want to say there (well, the Philippines in general tbh) and there are reasons for that. Unless it's die to visas, leaving Thailand for the Philippines is not a good move.
  16. Is this really worth reporting on? A single magic mushroom? Must be a slow week on the news front..
  17. I have no idea what this big push is for Pattaya by TAT in recent years. It should have remained the seedy seaside town that gets low marketing and make places like Phuket, Samui, Hua Hin, and some other islands very much family friendly and encourage the tourists to go there. It's like: hey we have a very nice affordable country with decent infrastructure and lots to see, but we are going to try and funnel you guys to our most degenerate corner despite wanting to clean up the image.
  18. Thanks. Is that by land crossing or going by air, and if the limited stay is 60 days (including the extension) I would need to leave and renter twice with 6 months. Would this be permitted or is it risky? Do I need to stay out of the country for a while or can I just bounce back in? I did read somewhere that only 1 land crossing in 6 months is permitted, but it changes so often I would like to hear from people with boots on the ground dealing with this.
  19. Thanks. The METV has quite a list of requirements for a 6 month stay. I would be willing to do these for a permanent move, but every time I come I would have to do the application and I still would need to leave the country once during my 6 month stay.
  20. I will be staying in the region soon. Is there a netted off section? Is there a real threat from dangerous jellyfish at this time of the years?
  21. So I used to stay in Thailand for long periods many moons ago, but back then I could just extend tourists visas every month for pretty much as long as I wanted. Things were very relaxed. I understand things have tightened up and I want to start staying 6 months of the year in Thailand. I am thinking of entering on a 90 day tourist visa and then flying out to extend for another 90 days. I don't know anyone who lives in Thailand anymore so what is the way people are doing this now? Recommended nearby SEA city to extend the visa in and is this the best method for staying 6 months in a year? How long do I have to stay to get the visa? Thanks in advance.
  22. These people would rather talk about a random British tourist having a minor temper tantrum than face the reality that if they have an issue with a local the vast majority of them don't have many recourse options.
  23. This is a yet another warning to other people. In Thailand to ALWAYS put yourself in a situation where you can walk away. If you have no monetary investment you could simply walk away. If the wife wants to build a house in nowherethani then let her work 2 jobs to afford that herself. The wife chooses the brother in law, ok she can stay with him then - that would be my attitude.
