  1. You forgot to mention the good stuff: Wine 50% cheaper than Thailand - and I drink a lot of wine. (was quite often corked in Thailand due to the heat and mishandling). Spirits 50% cheaper than Thailand - and I drink a lot of spirits. Good cheap salads and vegetables. Cheaper good quality steaks. Clean air. You can see the stars at night. Free health insurance. I can drive or ride again on safe roads. Forced home during COVID, and love it. Been back to Thailand a few times since COVID, and it now sucks with prices now 40 - 50% higher on everything. Many signs pointing to Thai banks now pulling into line with International standards/reporting, and signs government is looking to tax Farangs living in Thailand such as Digital Nomads and Oil and Gas workers etc. Stupid lady drink quotas in bars etc. etc. etc. No taxi scams.
  2. Yep, this is the Thai way of screwing Farangs, and the reason people are moving to Vietnam instead. It is not just Health Insurance they screw the Farang over with - just look at the 30 - 40% increase in international school fees each year.
  3. I can confirm, UOB has stopped accepting my Wise transfers as of May 6th. I did a SWIFT transfer from another bank and the funds turned up in my UOB account quite quickly - within 1 day.
  4. Yep, Thailand has long avoided the mandatory bank reporting that other banks around the world now require CRS( Common Reporting Standard). It was only a matter of time bfeore they were put under pressure to come into line, and report foreign account holders. I knew something was happening when Thai Baht was banned from P2P Trading on Bybit.
  5. Yawn, more guttless Thais ganging up on Farangs - and yet Lisa attends the Met Garla just wearing knickers.
  6. Everyone I speak to is visiting or moving to Vietnam this year, especially Na Trang. Seems everything is better there, and the birds have natural big T*%s and not bolt ons.
  7. Does it carry the bomb sniffer device they wasted money on years ago.
  8. They used the parts from the bomb detectors they bought years ago, lol. Can't mak this <deleted> up in this country.
  9. yes, been living in Thailand for 18 years - and no, I don't agree with the so called 30 - 40% luxuary tax Thailand puts on things like red/white wine..FFS they don't even produce decent wine here, so why tax the <deleted> out of it...becuse that is their mentality. as i said, they are getting everything they deserve with these tariffs.
  10. Australian red wine costs double in Thailand to what it costs in Australia - Thailand is getting everything they deserve!
  11. Can I place a bet somewhere online that this will not happen?
  12. Another excuse to bring back the Sukhumvit Road pedestrian stops, urine tests in the local petrol station, nightclub raids, blah blah blah blah.
  13. I went to get a tattoo when I was 22, I asked for a tiger and asked if it will still look like a tiger when I am 50. The tattoo artist said no, it will probably look like a poodle, so I passed.
  14. Pretty sure the first thing they do to new inmates in Changi Prison is shave their heads - so, he probably does not have that mop on his head anymore.
  15. Not a good year in aviation. Singapore Airlines majot turbulence incident - it has been shown they flew straight through a red storm cell. Azerbaijan crash - shot down by Russia. (Russia leads the shootdown score (2), USA shootdown (1). Jeju Air - cause still being investigted, but does look like some pilot errors here in handling the birdstrike/engine shutdown.
