Seems that the powers that be can't do s---t about the millions of scams geard toward tourists....Why not just take a random 30% of all people coming here and rob them blind the minute the door to the plane opens.........Save a lot of heart ache not to mention all the spining the Govt needs to do.....

I keep seeing the True Vision add that is promoting there new service that allows you to watch telvision in your car via satallite......In the add you see a small dome mounted on top of cars.I for one will be staying away from cars with these things mounted on top of them. Will the accident rate increase? Not to flame any one nationality in general but it does seem to me that this is a terrible idea for a place with driving habits like the ones found here.

I have all of mine serviced once or even twice a year and they really clean them for 500b each. I also clean the filters once a month. There is also a product you can buy at Fuji market that cleans and disinfects them. It comes from Japan and is easy enough to find.

What about people who have an older airconditioner thats been sitting in pidgeon shit for years??

I think that there can be a whole list of ailments that can stem from a filthy air-conditioner.....Fungus...Gekko shit...Dust...etc.

I keep my house at about 24 degrees all the time peroiod.

My wife called Bangkok General to ask what a hernia would cost to fix they told her there was a price for a Thai and a price for a farang the Thai price was 20,000b cheaper. I have decided to use St Louis Hospital.......

A friend of mine keeps a small place off soi 94/1 as you are going down the soi you would turn right about half a k up...There are a couple buildings on the right hand side that are pretty cheap and clean...about 5,000b with a/c and tv.....you would want a room on the south side as there is a train track...he changed sides and says it is fine.....

My little brother decided to early retire here two years ago. He came here on a tourist visa , not a visa on arrival. Hired a lawyer to help him with an early retirment visa......He was able to prove that he did indeed have the required 100,000$......he uses HSBC and they furnished him with a letter....He got his retirment visa in less than an hour......he is 36 years old so did not meet the 800,000b requirment when you hit 50.......They could have asked the money to be in Thai baht but they did not......

Cockney is spot on.....Show where your money is coming from....Have the right visa and funds and you should be able to stay.......Work here under the law....shoot over on the Jack Golf Bus....and be open to even more corruption and Thai tranparencey...........The system is flawed no doubt....But on a whole the 'Good' That labor,immigration and tax violators due for the ecoomy minimal.

What a lot of people think is that they have a right to stay here even if they can't meet the demands of the Law. This can't be allowed.

Stay home if you are coming here to break the law. If you have come here has a tourist and want to stay then meet the requirments.

And Yes. you should be able to come here and apply for a job, no doubt . But then you will need to leave and return to your home country to get the proper Visa in order to return....

Loong.....They are everywhere....I had to go over the border a year ago with a budd of mine that was activating his next 60 day visa i went along for the ride and hung out all day with these people..used Jacks Golf and they made up the most of the people crossing the border.

I see nothing wrong with it at all. I have learned NOT to stand in the way of my wife and her faith......I think she is better for it and I support it 110%......Just this afternoon she visited 9 temples in our area for some sort of tamboon she came back happy...she allways comes back happy from the temples......We have a yearly blessing on our home and lot's of neighbors both Thai and farang come...

Worry if she shaves her head and stays there.

The length of this thread does seem to say that Mexican food is important and missed.

I loved the food in the Mission...La Cumbre and of course la Rondia after after hours.

Bar none the Best Mexican food I have ever had anywhere was in Santa Barbara at La Superica.....Anyone that has ever eaten thre says the samr thing.

I will try the place on 18 this weekend. As I love Tamales......and good refries...Great posts everybody!!!!!!! I am starved for mexican food now.

Her Medical College would have all the information she needs I would think. I know a lot of Thai doctors go abroad to practice. I also know that in western countries all foreign grads have to pass a test just to qualify for a residencey program. Maybe it's to soon for her to think about leaving maybe she should be qualified 100% then look for a job abroad.......

What I have found with my own wife is that she tends to over value things here, stuff like land with or without a house on it and even used cars.....Could be the agent just want s to lisst you house so he has a chance to sell it. You are the one who should decide.....Remember that building costs were a lot lower even 4 years ago then they are today. Cement, steele and tiles and fixtures have all gone up in price. Somthing you have to consider if you were planning on building another place....I wouldnt call it logic either by the way.

I amost never drink anything besides Beer and good Saki if I can get it. Yet........I don't mind Sato at all ,it is better with ice and a bit of water. I also like to buy the homemade sato when I can find it. Hmmm.....maybe I will go get a bottle now.
