  1. Yes, that is why there are no winners in this tariff nonsense. Tariffs means higher prices on EU products sold in America, which of course consumers pay for, and as a result of that, the EU exports will be declining to the US. EU will look for other markets to compensate. I'm baffled when Trump says the tariffs "are going to make Americans so rich, that they won't know what to do with all the money".. His brain has shrunk, he has completely lost it.
  2. There are no winners in this tariff nonsense. All parties lose.
  3. As they should be. It's embarrassing to watch how the European leaders are just sitting next to DT, like obedient puppets. It has only been two leaders daring to speak their mind and stand up to this bully in the WH, that's the French president Macron, and Zelenskyy.
  4. Remind me again on who is actually paying this tariff in the end? Right, the American consumers.
  5. It's hilarious to watch these hateful comments, especially towards Democrats. Don't you guys have better things to do? For crying out loud, you act like babies. Add that to the words and hateful comments the Trump administration use towards people they don't agree with, it's no wonder people around the world dislike Americans. Just sayin.
  6. Doesn't matter. The good (no pun intended) people of MAGA blindly believe everything coming out of Trump's mouth, and his tweets. Yet, there has been no president in history squeezing out more lies than Donald Trump. It's just astonishing.
  7. 250 USD fee on a tourism that already has taken a hit, way to go, Donald! I wouldn't go even if anyone paid me for it 😁
  8. My friend wanted to go my route, and get a Non-O based on retirement. Now "stuck" with the bank issues, and needs more time to find an agent. He arrived in May, and is on his 30 days extension now. His border run is due in a couple of weeks. He has not been in Thailand since 2018. I recommended a short trip to Kuala Lumpur, 2 days, but now I'm not sure if even that would be safe. He does not want to stay longer than a couple of days. You mentioned Udon Thani, and a border hop via Vientiane. 2 days there instead. Is that a safer option? He also added he is short of the 20k baht to be shown if asked, his pension arrives a week later. Forward ticket and accommodation is not a problem. How do you see his chances here? I think it would be safe either way, since he only has 3 months in Thailand prior to his next run. One more question: Is Don Mueang seen as a tougher immigration to get through than Suvarnabhumi? Or is that the same? Thanks, Dr.Jack 🙏
  9. Don't listen to these youtubers' negativity. Lots aren't even true. Just come over and enjoy your retirement. I love it here. Can't think of any other country I want to spend my retirement. I know I made the right choice.
  10. This. Avoid those naysayers at bars or wherever they are. It seems to be getting more of them every year.
  11. Where have you got this information from? As far as I know, no such thing is yet on the table, or even discussed. It's just put out there by extra worried expats. Thai Immigration and the Tax Revenue Department are two very different departments, and they are not working together. At least not yet. I wouldn't worry about this at all.
  12. There is a reason this job is protected by the constitution, aka literally untouchable for any president (unless there is another reason to fire him, or your name is Donald Trump). Almost every country have their independent chief of their national bank reserves. Let the experts do their jobs, you have done enough damage, Donald.
  13. I have to correct myself here. Switzerland is not a member of NATO, and Australia is a NATO partner, together with Japan, New Zealand and South Korea.
  14. I have to agree with this one. NATO could have ended this war by giving a lot more help and weapons to Ukraine at an early stage. But have in mind, that Russia has threatened with use of nuclear weapons numerous times, and Europe and the US were threading on uncertain ground here. They were not aligned and working together either, like they are now. In the beginning, countries supported Ukraine with only light weapons, body armour, and stuff like that. Time and continued Russian threats and violence have forced Europe to react further, and that has taken time. It has taken time for politicians to act. And now the nuclear threats are no longer seen as real, or something to worry about anymore, just desperate words from a desperate inner circle of war criminals at Kremlin. Btw, you mention the EU. NATO is more correct to use here. They are the ones supplying with weapons, having the strategic military view on this war. NATO has also a few countries which are not members of the EU. Like Australia, Canada, Iceland, Switzerland and Norway. The European Union's primary task has been the economical supporting of Ukraine in this war, sanctions, and being independent of Russia in the long run, and to bring their countries closer together against the Russian threats.
  15. I don't disagree on that. As I said, there has been some movements at very few areas this last year or two, and that includes Pokrovsk. But it's a very slow progress, and remember, the Russians were only 2-3 km from Pokrovsk City in December last year, and they haven't gotten any closer to the city. But indeed, they are closing in from other directions, but it remains to be seen if Pokrovsk will fall. It has been said from many sources it will, for almost a year now, and sources have been wrong, so far. We will see, it's a quite crucial town for the progress of this war. However, it's said that Ukraine has had time to make a solid defence line west of Pokrovsk now, to stop further advances.
  16. It's not only the Democrats. A lot of Republican voters in comment sections all around, are milking this scandal for all its worth too. As they should.
  17. Russia is currently controlling no more than 19% of Ukraine. It was 18% almost 3 years ago. It is not even the most they have controlled, a few months into this war, they controlled around 26% of Ukraine, before Ukraine hit back. You sound like this is going in a hurry to take over Ukraine. It isn't, far from it. The bigger picture shows a lot like a stalemate, with some movements at very few areas. I read somewhere that with the same tempo as the last several months going forward, it would take Russia more than 150 years to control the whole of Ukraine. It just shows how little they are gaining. And they have done so at an extremely high cost, a tremendous loss of Russian soldiers' lives, and equipment. And btw, regarding our last conversation about Sumy Oblast, Russia has come to a halt there, and has even been pushed back of several villages. Just as I claimed last time, and you denying it.
  18. They're selling these weapons, not helping in any other way. They won't help Ukraine or Europe anymore without gaining something in return, this time it's over a billion dollar.
  19. Trump giving Russia carte blanche to rain bombs over civilian Ukrainians for 50 days, wtf is that... The only positive here is that US have agreed to sell weapons to European countries, who pay for all this help to Ukraine. And the embarrassing Hegseth was wrong, the US still sit on a tremendous amount of weapons, offensive and defensive, but they only agree to let Ukraine have them because Europe is paying for all of them. About time they made this agreement.
  20. Seems that some people on this forum are not aware that the US consumers are the ones picking up the final bill for these ludicrous tariffs by Trump's administration. What on earth is Trump thinking? Not to mention the fact that countries worldwide will shift their focus towards trading more with Europe and China instead. In both cases, USA will stand behind as the loser in this war on tariffs.
  21. And you Americans don't understand why people around the world don't like you.. Well, this thread is a good indicator on that. Just saying. By all means, keep up with the name calling, trashing, and whatnot you and your lot are doing. You Americans are very good at that, at least. I give you that.
  22. This is freaking just embarrassing. Euro trash.. name calling, just like Trump.. you learn that from him? The US and its maga voters have lost it. I feel sorry for you. No point of commenting anymore from here. It seems I'm discussing with a cult. End from here.
