No problem, you can drive with the standard license. The blue plate just shows that your car seats more than 7 people. It is still a private car, and that's fine. White on blue can go, black on yellow is commercial and requires a different license.

I just do it online. It takes about two minutes, and it works. You even get an email to remind you. The first online service in Thailand, that really works. And instead of a fine I invest in the yearly extension at a price of 1900 Baht. Good deal, eh? ???? -

These machines might do a good job running Linux. I would give Mint or Puppy Linux a chance. Surely good enough for going online or doing light work.

The website runs great with Firefox. The reply/confirmation comes via email as a PDF, which prints nicely from Okular in KDE. -

It should be no problem unless there is a clause in the rental contract about leaving the province. But doing a tour without proper driving license is no good idea. At least you should hold a valid International Driving Permit.

Years ago I got a stamp of 1 day overstay "but less than 24 hours". Actually the total was 7 hours... In those days it was still 200 Baht per day, but for me it was free.
