  1. I love how this works ... announce a 3 week Songkran, then have a meeting to discuss and plan it.  What could possibly go wrong.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will hold meetings next week with the Culture and Interior ministries, the private sector and other relevant agencies to discuss details of this year’s Songkran celebrations,

Another thing about Russian rudeness that may apply to many other groups as well. Pretty decent to deal with individually but when in GROUPS, Katie bar the door!

This is true of every country.  Individuals are usually fine and genuine, but in a pack that all changes.  I try to avoid large groups but will chat with anyone one on one ... and I seem to meet great people.

A grim accident in Nonthaburi claimed the life of a delivery guy who slammed into a bus. It was caused by an old person crossing the road under a pedestrian bridge.

Last Sunday I came within a whisker of dispatching an aging monk who was crossing Phahonyothin within yards of a similar bridge. I’m glad I have the best part of a million kilometers on the roads under my belt or I could have made the news myself.

Those senior folk with aging knees and hips can not manage the stairs in many cases.  I don't know what the best answer is ... certainly lifts or elevators would be way to expensive.
