Muang Nonthaburi police attended an accident that was allegedly caused by an old person crossing the road under a pedestrian bridge.

It happened near the end of Phibil Songkhram Soi 11.

The old person crossing caused an MG to brake sharply, a collision with a delivery guy on a Honda PCX and a #65 bus.

The MG was hit by the bus and the rider hit the bus, it appeared.

The upshot was that Pornsak, 50, was dead in the road, that was covered in his blood.

It happened around 3 pm yesterday, reported Siam Rath

That middle-aged "old" person.

Mrs did this at Victory monument last week, says it's faster, it wasn't

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for her.

My Wife has a Bad Knee (no she doesn't want to take the operation) and it's a real struggle for her to go up those stairs as they are very steep.

So I can understand why some People don't use those Pedestrian Bridges

The stairs are too much trouble for some.

50 is an old person???  ????

I can understand not wanting to go up those stairs.   I am either still recovering from hyperparathyroidism after a parathyroidectomy in Aug 2019, or I have am having a reoccurrence of hyperparathyroidism.

Regardless of which of the two above it is, climbing stairs like those for the flyover is difficult and leads to shortness of breath and some light headedness.  Before the surgery I came near passing out a  few times after getting up to the top.  Needed to sit down for a few minutes while breathing heavily.

Now just need to sit down occasionally for a couple of minutes.

It is not clear from the OP (and the linked press article is in Thai) whether the old person crossing the road was killed, or whether it was the motorcyclist who hit the back of the bus.

I'm guessing that a 50 year old delivery motorcyclist (Pornsak) died when colliding with the back of a bus which stopped quickly due to an MG swerving to avoid an unnamed old person who stepped into the road under a pedestrian bridge.

But anything is possible.

My mother is the same. Knees a bit better when she does not need to use stairs so ofen. Shot knees is horrible, and can take more than a decade to get done in th public health system (Australia).

It really bothers me to see students doing this. What a stupid way to potentially end your own life (same as not bothering to wear a bike hemet).
