  1. I would recommend a careful inspection. I wont buy komine as it is a unknown brand to me. This probably doesnt make sense but if its not sold in the usa i have concerns of its quality. I looked fro reviews but couldnt find any. I have gotten good at spotting copies but with a unknown brand who knows?

fyi i just bought some nice alpine star copy pant at kawasaki big bike this afternoon. Dont think my ass will be protected in aslide.

  2. If u think u gonna be serious about the track get a full leather suit from somewhere like Paddock. I wasn't sure how much i was gonna get into it, so bought a pair of Alpine Star leather pants and wore my Komine jacket for 12 months. I ended up getting a one piece suit in the end though. You can get knee protectors with a knee slider attached, this is a budget option and perfect until you sure u wanna spend 30K or so on a one piece suit.

    cheers

    DM

30,000 would be cheap for a brand name suit here in thailand.

  3. Well i got this one

The main reason was price. I forget exactly but under $400 plus shipping and customs. I did read the reviews and its a quality suit. Much better suits can be gotten but i needed to realize this is something i may use 12 times a year i hope. I looked at dianese in thailand and there is no f@&kin way i will pay those prices. I am not sure the suits you see in 320sp and those shop are legit. The ones at paddock might be your best bet if your not going to import.

I need to get on the track as bira is less them 5 minutes from my casa.

  4. CIMB 5 months at 3.1% and 12 months at 3.3%

I went to cimb on 3rd rd in pattaya. They called me to the front counter and cimb ....asked can i help you? me ....Yes i want to open a account. cimb....Sorry can not do you need to have a thai with you. me .... i called bkk and they didnt say i needed a thai. cimb....what kind of visa do you have? me....I am on a marriage extension.....cimb....ok what kind of account?

The 3.1% is just what it says

The 3.3% is not so clear.. it runs on a monthly scale with the interest going up every month...The way i understood it is month 13-15 you get 8% this then averages to 3.3. I opted for the simple 5 month account.

They also said i will get some special privilages at the airport.

  5. Rolo Tomazi - if I didn't already have a 2011 CBR150R, I would buy your 2011 CBR150R immediately. I'm in Canada. I have a 2011 CBR250R AND a 2011 CBR150R (which is really a 2011 CBR125R with the Thai 150R engine swapped into it). Canada does not import the CBR150R. What I've discovered is that the CBR150R is so much more fun and engaging to ride than the CBR250R. I never ride my CBR250R anymore and I'm currently trying to sell it. Bigger displacement doesn't necessarily mean "more fun to ride". The CBR250R is really torquey - but feels relatively boring to ride - lacks an exciting top end.

There have been lots of inquiries here in Canada asking how one might be able to acquire the Thai 150R engine so a swap into the 125R chassis could be made. I was lucky enough to buy a used bike from Thailand and have just the engine and necessary components for the swap shipped to me. Around $2000 + shipping (CND) for the engine, throttle body, and other essentials is a fair deal when you can now buy a new CBR125R for $2299 (CND - one of the best buys currently in a new motorcycle in Canada in my opinion). It is a direct swap.

I know this doesn't help your cause - but in a perfect world you would sell the bike to a Canadian CBR125R owner, crate the engine and essentials and ship it out - then sell off all the extra parts of the bike (e.g., fuel tank, wheels, seat, fairings, etc) and probably make a profit off of it!

    Mike

Right, you're not helping me much but you make my day by saying you would buy it...

People selling their Lifans for a decent price in two weeks and I don't get a call for a quality CBR - something's wrong with this picture!

Interesting that you say "bigger bikes doesn't mean more fun tom ride" - I agree, I've had 1400cc cruisers and 1000cc BMWs and found out that a light single can be more fun to ride.

A 250 Ninja can be quicker and more fun than a 650 - as long as you don't go touring.

qucker and more fun? i dont think so.......That must be some basket case 650. There is no way that would be the case unless the 650 was too much bike.

  6. my service went off about ten last night.I called true 9am to report the problem. They said the network in chonburi is down.I then asked when it went down?. The rep said this morning. I said mine was out last night. Rep says adsl this morning cable last night.

    Anyone else down?

  7. @ tanithai: My footpegs has that crack appearance worst than yours but i can't tell if its the metal that crack or just the paint. The frame where my foot peg attaches to also have dent. Also had bent shifter but that one is easy to bend back into original shape. My bike also have deformed radiator as seen on photo. You can see that it is quiet a heavy crash. One of my mates just replaced his radiator after it leaked following a crash. Mine seems to still work fine so no plan of replacement but if i will replace it, i will also consider getting a radiator guards.IMG_1213_zps8e7047a5.jpgSharing my other experience, as i were riding a steep uphill and on the ruts, the chain of my bike got off and got stuck between the spokes and nuts that hold the rear sprocket. Chain must have hit some rocks at just the right angle for it to come off.IMG_1211_zps1fb30844.jpg

Thesse radiators need protection. My friend has replaced two already from dropping his bike. The bikes fan runs a lot compared to a klx. Do they sell ice type coolant here in thailand?

His fork seals just blew out last week too :(

  8. I found this interesting to read http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/620267-imported-bikes-and-atv-dealers-in-central-thailand/

I guess you will have to spend at least double of what you pay for a compareable bike. Its obvious that a quad has to be more expensive. So maybe for +80k Baht you can find something interesting? Do these things get plates and registration? Must be fun out in the Pampas smile.png

According to your link the guy got it in very cheap. I wonder if its imported as farm equipment at a low rate. I had a polaris ranger in the states and it was around 10,000 usd but it was a beast and never got stuck :} Not sure i would have a need for it here but the trails around pattaya could easily be widened..
