Beware. My thai brother-in-law works for the Department of Transportation (licenses and vehicle registrations). He said that starting in August, all motorcycles five years old or more will have to be inspected at the DOT, with this new procedure: A sound meter will check the decibel level of the exhaust and feed directly into their computers. If they do not have the sound file or if it is too loud, the computer software will not issue the new registration. I supposed somebody could substitute a different motorcycle for a pay-off.
Frankly, with all the ridiculously loud Harley's out there, this policy does not totally break my heart.
I am a little worried about the Scorpion exhaust on my ER6n as it is considerably louder than stock. You would be advised to keep you stock system and all the mounting hardware, as you may find that you have to put it back on for the test. RSD has another five years before he has to worry, but I am in year four already.
I was a little taken aback by the new policy as I had heard nothing about it. BIL came for a visit over Songkran and ask me about some English in the new DOT software. I asked him why there was all this stuff about sound meters and decibels and he explained the new policy to me. He said there was no way to defeat the software.
This inspection has been in place for years unless its something new. 5 years for bikes 7 for cars. If its the same nothing to worry about ;]

Did they say if they had it on the shelf? Your bike might an older model (?) and maybe made to order.I may have to look at the Brocks too. I ordered the muzzy megaphone already but just got a email saying "45-60 days delivery time". Is this normal from these companies?
My bike is a 2013 but 2010-2013 are the same. I didnt ask if it was in stock just ordered from jcmotors as they had it on sale.

This service issue makes kawasaki look like a better deal even if more money. If you hit 1000k and now have to wait a month for your service. I guess your bike has to sit because of possible warranty issues? In the usa you can do the service yourself and not have a issue but here who knows?
Yeah totally agree that its nonsense to wait 1 month for just the 1st 1000km service. But I wouldnt go to kawasaki either! Their customers service isnt much better than hondas! Its worse I heard!

From personal experience i never had to make a appointment with kawasaki for a oil change. Never had any other issues so i cant comment anymore about their service. ninja 250, dtracker 250 & z1k

On which point? What else is made here then? I can't find any info in it beyond the 795 and some rumours that the Diavel will be or is assembled here as well.
WRONG!
Ducati assembles just one bike here, the Asian market only Monster 795.
Would it be more believable if he said he was from japan rented a truck and was scouting a plant location....dont shoot the messenger a mechanic told me ducatis were going to be made in thailand. Guess what they are ... amazin thailand....Just to clarify, this was a truck driver in Isaan, right? Not even a Honda truck driver, just a truck driver.diavel is and two more already announced.

Mania the guy said new frame, suspension, brakes for the new cbr650 so it will be a different model with better parts.

Nice choice off bike any more info like plate or invoice only, i know you probably might not like to say what you payed but how about just a rough idea eg 200-250k, 250-300k

Has a plate and book BUT i have not seen the book....Paid 150k the shop was asking 220k the owner [falang was asking 175].
It needs some work to start it needs a regulator. I checked but not looking good for availability in thailand...

What about supercorsas yankee? More sticky and better option on track and outside to enjoy full limits of the bike.
Rainy season is coming though so corsa2 wet performance is very good according to people which is also good for high mileage.
Hard choice:lol:
I have to check but if my memory serves me ? my riding buddy implied he got 50% less kilometers from them.

I am thinking the rosso II. These should easily exceed my riding skills and give me many kilometers of use. I would conside the pilot power but dont think it is available here.

When you think about it its s great marketing from honda same as apple do bring new productbout every year ensuring many customers will upgrade to the new model for honda it obviously started with the cbr 250, then this year cbr 500 & next year cbr 650.for people living here its a bit
xxxxthat honda is playing catch up to kawasaki and we still have to wait another 8-12 months just for honda to release something to match kawasaki offerings over here which have been avilable for what 3 years. Sent from my GT-P7500 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile appI suppose Honda invented the A2 license class in Europe in order to complete their fiendish plans?
No i would think they hired a lobbyist to do that job...

Great choice- it's will fit you really well, and it's as reliable as a hammer.
You're gonna care if it goes sliding at 100, though.
Yes i will care but not about the bike.....

After lookin at a few i decided a nc30 is not a good idea and a big headache. Everyone needed a minimum of 30k baht plus. Parts seem hard if not impossible to get. Reliability seems to be a big issue. So here is my new ride.
