As a former travel agent. I would be interested to know if anyone else knows of 'VFR' airfares, and if so, do they think they are blatantly racists? In short VFR stands for "visiting friends and relatives". Thai has VFR fares, and one of the conditions is: "passenger must have a thai surname". If they do, they get the slightly cheaper fare. Whilst it is true that it doesnt stipulate a nationaility, common sense would say more often than not a person with a Thai surname would be aThai national. Also, there VFR fares are sold outside Thailand as well.

at the end of the day i tried to say sorry to the girl and she started going crazy i couldnt get a word in
then this thai guy stormed over man and i knew he was going to crack me one i could see it in his eyes i reacted first
what else was i supposed to do?...
3 guys then started on me and did what i was trained to do, i took the biggest one out first i couldn't line the other two up in a straight line to go through them so i bolted - there was other guys coming over at that time to. 3 on to one aint good man.
apart from that i had a great night, some girl in one of the bars really liked me. she's the cashier as well as doesnt go with guys i want to go back but im scared to go into lamai

Didnt I recommend Fusion to you when you joined the forums. Same goes as above. the Thais there can be lethal. None of them have jobs, they just live to get drunk every night. Lucky you came out of it. Buy a lottery ticket.

Welcome to the forums. I have just moved to Lamai as well. This place is seriously pumping. Check out the Lamai beach road. Fusion is AWESOME, plenty of hot chicks there. Also the bars around the kick boxing ring ... good place to improve your connect four skills if you know what I mean....

This is obviously a thread aimed at dissing Thai people, as the OP knows that is a Farang based forum, he poses a question that will obviously lead to the usual suspects dissing the whole Thai population from the safety of their seat behing their computer.

Topic : How many posters here who continuously put Thai people down apply for Visas to stay in Thailand , which has 65 Million Thais, the very people they slag off at every opportunity ?

Dude stop being such an apologist for the Thai people. If they took a long hard look at themselves and tried to fix the many problems here, then perhaps this country might rise up the failed state that it is ... until then I am enjoying my 50baht Chang in paradise..

And did her lack of education make you feel educated, educated enough to ridicle those less educated than youself ?

Andy you have had mixed responses but I think you know the answer 20,000THB seems well over the norm.
I would ask to see her monthly pay check (salary) it would be interesting to hear her explain how she was able to send twently thousand a month previously. Thai's seem to be able to justify white lies without thinking about the consequences, she could loose someone that can provide a good life for her if she is faithful, caring and trueful.
CMS very good point indeed. For most part Thais only live for the day, they are not long term thinkers. Its all about what they can get today, and bugger the consequences. Andy should dump this thing ASAP.

One person claims they are charging "darker skinned gentlemen" 200 baht and everyone assumes it's true. Obviously if Tiger Woods or Will Smith tried to get in they'd be falling over themselves to get him inside and keep him inside. But there is obviously a big problem with Nigerian scammers in the area who might frequent a bar not to buy drinks but to scam the gullible white folk too scared of being seen as "racist" to tell them to get lost. So they have a very sensible policy to try to keep such people out of the bar. Relax, we're not in politically correct little old England anymore.
I am half African American and I frequent Gullivers and have never been charged except on new years eve when they were really crowded and I saw everyone getting charged. I have never been approached by a nigerian trying to scam me and I havent noticed anyone around me being bothered.
Your only a 100baht then....

anyway everywhere in Thailand it would be easy, there are much more fragile targets then this airport in LOS. There on this airport I can imagine, we are quite safe ;-)
How about any one of the large overcrowded ferries going from Samui to Koh Phangan any full moon. No life jackets and jam packed with Israelis....

I know that restaurant well, and I am well aware of the fact that they have two menus. My GF and I haven't been there since she got seriously ill from bad goong. She had the squits for two days, seriously messy stuff. As for Sabaing Lae, now that place is top notch. Highly recommend the King Prawns in Tamarind sauce aroi aroi. I would recommend steering clear of Kraochaobaan Restaurant and not just because of their blatant racism...
