Not exactly a great track record...
The Bangkok Post has several excellent Opinion Page columnists, such as Sanitsuda, Voranai, Ploenpote, Kong, Dawson and others, who continually write scathing articles about the junta.
Pity you missed them.

Daytime flights would be no problem or have they lost all their electricity & the generators won't start ?
It was closed at 7.20 pm and re-opened at 0800, so nothing to do with daytime flights..

Spectacles as in eyeglasses as opposed to shows.
I have a copy of that dictionary and its list of classifiers in Appendix does not include what I am looking for.
If you have the Paiboon dictionary as an app,. type either spectacles or แว่นตา and the answer also shows - and voices - the classifier - อัน.
I recommend this app as a great help, both as a dictionary and an aid to learning Thai.

Thanks,
I went yesterday. Arrived just before 8.
Busy, but not mobbed.
Got out before 11am after seeing a urologist. The thing that held me up was both the urologists didn't arrive til after 10am. They both arrived at the same time (maybe they were in surgery or something), then the queue moved rapidly. But it was nice to see a specialist so quickly.
All in all, good experience. It pays to arrive early though.
Although, incase anyone wants to see a dermatologist there is a 2 week queue (however that time can be reduced to under a week under certain circumstances, apparently).
Yes, you are correct. I had a biopsy there on a Wednesday.
Very satisfied with my urologist.
Hope you have good news.

Not sure who exactly will be paying 1,100 THB for a trip between Bangkok (exact terminus TBD) and Phitsanulok? Shades of the SARL Express Line.
One assumes there will be a somewhat limited schedule, so depending on your schedule it might be faster to walk.
There are not enough amulets in creation to get me on that train, assuming it's completed by what, 2030? Heck, they might even hold elections before that.
The "other" newspaper quoted the official that the cost for the entire route - Bangkok/Chiang Mai - would be slightly more than 1000 baht.

Sorry Jappos,..... but China was faster and Prayuth already made his agreement with them......
Why the laughter?
The report is on the Thai-Japanese rail project; nothing to do with Thai-China projects.

Yes you do.

C'mon....how many Singapore tourists are there daily. This small amount not will reduce the queues on immigration counters.
Apparently, from a BP report, about 1 million per year, tourist and business.

What is it with you old farts on this forum getting so triggered by words? You're almost worse than the SJWs. So sorry I offended your religion of allopathic medicine, I guess I must just be a heretic. I pointed out that the medical system in Thailand is flawed (nothing to do with good and bad hospitals, they are all the same it's the system that is the problem) - you have the sniffles and have to go to a hospital full of superbugs where by the end of it, you'll be even more sick. It would be much better to take care of yourself, better nutrition, eating safe foods, exercising etc.
But I guess for those who believe in the holy church of allopathic medicine, it's much better just to pop some pills and talk down to those who think differently and give you some advice.
Peace.
Stone me...what a load of twaddle.
let's agree that we don't agree, and let this topic get back on course.
With your aggressive attitude and opinions I think you will do well on this forum with the complainers.
Yes, peace, have a good weekend and goodbye. I'm out of this topic.

Whether the nurses were nice or not doesn't change the fact that hospitals are horrible places to go to, and Thai hospitals are not particularly great. Maybe you should start taking better care of yourself, so you don't need to go to hospital so often. Where I come from, nobody goes to a hospital except for an accident, emergency or major surgery. We visit health clinics and medical centers, which are far more pleasant.
I wrote a reply, but it disappeared into cyberspace, so I'll have another go.
I remember saying that your response was arrogant - "taking better care of yourself" indeed. I have managed more than 70 years and still kicking, so not doing so bad. My regular hospital visits are for annual checkups, blood pressure and PSA checks and to collect medicine; this is how it works here, the procedure in your country is irrelevant.
Every country has good and bad hospitals; other expats on this forum have stated their satisfaction with government hospital treatment from time to time, some have complained, and others such as yourself make sweeping generalisations.
So, I will continue using my local hospital with its hardworking staff, and you can continue to write off-topic comments.
Sorry this is also off-topic Mods, just didn't appreciate being told to take better care of myself by someone who doesn't know me.

"The good name of nurses". LOL.
At many Thai hospitals, nurses are more interested in idle chit chat and taking selfies than actually doing some work. Few can think outside of the box and only apply what they have learned in medical school. Best advice is to avoid Thai hospitals altogether, unless it's an accident or emergency. Eat healthy food, don't smoke, don't drink too much, don't get into an accident and you should be fine.
I know its off-topic, but the nurses I have encountered in hospitals, male and female, have almost always been hard-working and helpful people, . Also I use Thai hospitals frequently, and am quite satisfied with the treatment.

here in Bangkok its done by e_signature on a hand held device. It has the signature, time of day and date plus it is used by only one delivery guy. It should be easy to check up, and hopefully find out who signed and took it. It may well involve the police and cost just a bit of money to speed it along. The EMS delivery guy is generally not the same as the post as far as I know,
Yes, same procedure for Ubon. However, trying to write while the postie is holding the machine means that sometimes I cannot recognise my own signature!
Good system though.

Thank you Chris. On behalf of Franco and myself, we hope you will pay us a visit when we open next month.
Good on ya John.
Have you heard anything about a new Italian restaurant being prepared in Ban Nakhum, Kamyai?
The new building, believed to belong to the owner of Home Restaurant, Home Leisure Centre and God knows what else in my area, has two company signs up and one is for Venezia Italian restaurant - "Wine, dine and unwind".
Early doors yet, workmen are still doing odds and sods outside, and where the restaurant would be has people working inside.

Thank you Michael. We look forward to seeing you and your colleagues in Spago in the near future.
The new Spago as you mentioned is located at the front of the Yuu Hotel with ample parking and a new look for the area. Spago will have its regular pizza and pasta dishes that it is very well known for plus a new menu that will feature many new dishes and a new fresh look for lunch and dinner at very affordable prices.
As Memock mentioned we are having a modern temperature controlled wine cellar that will stock a wide variety of wine from around the world plus a few more surprises.
Good luck with the project John.

Sounds like you had some treats. We had fat dripping on toast.
Thick slices of bread, toasted in front of the fire, and lathered with dripping.
This was a custom in our house long after rationing ended, and better variety of foods appeared; it was, and is, so damned delicious - beef dripping the favourite.
Damn you Rc, my mouth is watering!

that was kind of the days from rationing though. my old man used to eat trotters. you wouldn't catch me eating them 555
Mine used to eat sheep's head as well as pig's trotters.
Probably more healthy than some of the plastic-wrapped stuff sold today!

I think 5 Star is the best for size, taste and value. I always buy 1/2 a chicken for 64bht and the seller cuts it into 2 x 1/4, which is plenty for 2 good servings. The garlic & black pepper flavour is delicious IMHO.
Bought it from several different 5 Star stalls; always very good.

lots of fried food and sugar in the diets here. carnation condensed milk and sugar on toast. can't understand how anyone can eat that
I had condensed milk or sugar on bread at times in UK when a young kid.
And even as an older kid!
Made a change from jam, treacle or syrup.
Of course, in those days, after WW ll, we didn't go dulally over eating such sweet things; we just enjoyed them.

slight addition
E - for electric.
This tells all;
"The couple travelled from Windsor Castle to Frogmore House in a silver blue Jaguar E-Type Concept Zero. The number plate was E19 05 18, marking their wedding date.
This vehicle was originally manufactured in 1968, and has since been converted to electric power."
No doubt the TVF miseryguts will find something to complain about with it.
