1. Now I'm sure it was a scam. So, you have been warned.

And that's exactly what my post intends to do: Warn!!!

MY sister isn't in hospital (well, at least not that I know)

So, next time dear people..........except OneZero.......READ before you post!

    And no........she wan't rootable.

  2. Rode my motorbike last night along Pattaya Klang from Beach Road towards Sukhumvit.

Near Soi Buakhow there's a pedestrian light and it worked.

It jumped to red for motorised traffic.

The 4 cars and 3 motorbikes in front of me, moved on.

The song taew next to me on the left stopped, so did I.

    Unfortunately there was a f*cking farang right behind the song taew;

this <deleted> swerved around the song taew and when he noticed me, waiting for the light to become green again, he blew his horn and started shouting.

Obviously he still didn't notice the red light we were waiting for.

Anyway, the song taew driver got out of his car and walked to the hasty <deleted>, who of course locked his doors (I suppose).

I don't know what happened next, it went green again and off I went..............

As for the rest of the pedestrian lights.............they're working prefectly

  3. Woke up this morning around 5:45 as usual.

After some breakfast a fag outside.

I was just enjoying my fag and a cup of coffee, when a slightly distressed young woman stopped at my gate.

She presented herself as a "neighbor" ("You know me?")

Her sister was in th hospital after an accident and she needed THB 1000 and she had only THB 400.

Her papa went to Walking street last night and didn't return yet.

I told her in a friendly way that it was better to wait for 'papa' and off she went.

This happened in the Soi Arunotai area.

  4. What is it with you all, seeing Arabs and Russians jump ques.

Never, and I mean never I witnessed anything like it, apart from Thais who always think that asking a brief question can be done in between.

  5. as a Brit this is a disgusting story, i thought consul had been replaced by well kown Pattaya resident, note the omission of hounary, one before same catergory. only decent one was D Covey in Samui. this should cost somebody in Bangkok there job. time they all read the mission statement again.

Wait wait, so the Thai police creates a problem and the UK Embassy/Consul has to solve it?

As far as I know, Embassies do have a strict policy on those cases, and if a UK citizen is "impounded" in a police cell, he may have not been registered.

All the blame goes to the Royal Thai Police and the Pattaya Police in specific; did the victim has aids? was this tested? why was the prisoner naked? did he do that himself? all questions.........and of course no answers.

  6. Simple. Every western Govt should immediately advise every citizen not to rent the things. They will soon have to answer to the who ever they borrowed the scratch for the things in the first place if they can't pay the loan money back for the jetskis.

And don't rent motorbikes, cars, don't take taxis, tuk-tuk's, don't visit national parks, don't go to disco's, don't rent houses and or condo's from Thai owners and certainly don't buy souvenirs on street-side markets. If you don't know how to do deal with it..........don't come to Thailand unless you have an Asian outlook.

  7. The entire project >connecting Pattaya 2nd Road to Jomtien 2nd Road< started approx. 5 years ago with the widening of Theppraya Road from the Fly Over up the hill.

Approx. 2 years ago, they started with the connection and a junction near Hannuman Statue.

It may take another year before the stretch between Thepprasit Road and the new connection will be ready.

  8. The fact that there are pedestrian crossings is ok, but I wonder who has decided where to put them.

    Just to mention 2 locations:

    - Pattaya Klaang between Foodland and Wattana Computer Shop; why on earth is there a pedestrian crossing?

    - 2nd Road approx. 200 meters from the main entrance of Central Pattaya Beach; who will ever use this crossing?

Wouldn't it be better to elevate the pedestrians-crossings/zebra's with 20 cm; in this way cars must slow down and pedestrians have the chance to cross.

Approx. cost per crossing THB 200,000 instead of THB 3mn now.

  9. You could also try A.C.T. in Jomtien along Sukhumvit:

Driving on Sukhumvit direction Sattahip; pass Tesco Lotus - Makro - UnderwaterWorld and Kanyong.

On your left you will pass a Caltex gas-station and just after the gas station you'll find:ACT

They have packages, with checks on 30 items and if there is anything special, just mention it.

Not very cheap, but ripp off isn't possible, they'll discuss everything with you first.

Just beware: As every good garage, they try to do more than needed!!

  10. Transvestite director? NO. Tiffany Show...Yes!

End up entering the sex trade? NO. Patpong/Nana/etc...Yes!

Teenagers in school uniforms engaging in various sexual acts with clients? NO. Underaged boys/girls Sunee Plaza, Pattaya...Yes!

    Gay life? NO. Boyztown...Yes!

Perhaps movies should not be too realistic in Thailand.

Spot on. Don't you know that reality is to be found on TV at 8.30 every night where everyone drives Mercs, has numerous maids of dark skin, the baddies all wear black, have fake moustaches and talk to themselves and the goodies all wear white and have stress trying to find the love of their life.

    Hehe.........

  11. Never, and I mean never give the keys of your vehicle to the police even if they insist.

Park the bike in a safe place in sight of the police.

    This is pretty bad advice.

If you don't have your licence or ID on you, they will take your keys whether you like it or not.

How would suggest I proceed if they grab my keys? Grab them back?

That will not end well. They can be pretty aggressive and they have guns.

If you don't have a licence, the only way they can assure you'll pay the fine is by impounding your vehicle.

You're suggesting we should start an argument with the police?

You didn't read my reply. Take the keys from the ignition before they can do it.

Then prk the bike on a safe place in sight of the police.

Get the ticket and tell the police to stay put.

Police has no right what so ever to impound anything unless there is a reason for it. (accident, murder, ......)

A THB 300 is absolutely no reason.

  12. Never, and I mean never give the keys of your vehicle to the police even if they insist.

Park the bike in a safe place in sight of the police.

On one of my first "stoppings" I left the bike and the keys with the police in charge.

On my return, after paying the fine at the police station, the police was gone and so was my bike.

After 3 hours of searching, I went back to the police station and there came my bike, driven by a police officer.

I immediately filed a complaint against this <deleted>, but of course.............no repsonse.

On the very occassions I'm stopped now, I take the keys from the ignition before the police can do this.

  13. If you google on Thun Nasongkhla, M.D. you'll find out that he is pretty famous and therefore possibily pretty occupied.

He might have been so busy and stressed out, that he's enjoying a sabatical.

On the other hand, even doctors can get sick.

Tip for this country: Don't get attached to doctors, government-officers (incl. police and immigration), shop owners, restaurant waiters and all the other nice people here. Thailand is the inventor of "job-rotation".

    Khun Pearsit,

speaks perfect english and also does accounting. About 30k to set up company

Thanks for the info, have you used them yourself? do you get personal service or more of a "whatever" service?

Yes, but not for a company set-up.

They assisted me in getting my non-immigrant B visa by sending me the proper documents.

I was in Germany at the time and everything was arranged by email and snail-mail without ever meeting each other.

After my arrival in Thailand I went to their office, paid the bill of THB 2,000 and everybody was happy.

They do business based on trust (a bit in a Western way) and my experience was a great one.

Just visit them and give them a try.

  15. After 20 years in Thailand I can only give you one advise...Stay away from any kind of business. The chances you will regret it are much, much higher than the not! BB.

Thank you for your sounded advice. Perhaps when i make a new post to seek opinion on should i or should i not open a business, i will contact you and ask for your experience and opinions
