  1. There is secure parking for motorbikes next to the terminal. 30 baht per day. If you are facing the entrance to the Pattaya Bus Terminal on Pattaya Nua, it's just to the left. Drive in and go toward the back. I've used several times and it's a nice choice.

I was there yesterday and the parking facility is gone, there are some sort of construction going on, maybe I've missed the entrance or something, but I could't see the way in to the for pay carpark anymore, could anyone around there confirm?

I've used the parking guy in the past and it was good

Don't park inside the terminal though, you will be towed away and you have to pick your car up from the police pound in Jomtien

It's there still. Used it last week to park a car. 100 Baht a day for a car.

  2. The house is in company name? Then only the directors/shareholders of the company change, if selling the comapny with the house. No change of name on the Chanote at the Land Office.

Buyer will do due diligence on the company and then you will have the directors/shareholders changed at the same time as settlement happens.

The company owns the house. Only who controls the company changes.

  3. Soi Photisarn that runs between Pattaya-Naklua Road and Sukhumvit Road. Coming from Sukhumvit it is on the left side almost opposite Photisarn Soi 4 in a shophouse. Clearly signed.

Not much English spoken when I was there by the way...

  4. We are setting up an office with 4 computers and 2 printers that we would like to network. Can any learned member recommend a reliable IT person with reasonable English that can come and set up this network please.

We are not interested in taking the time to do it ourselves. We are located in Wongamat.

  5. At least in Pattaya they have you do the color tests (and all the other vision tests) when you renew the DL.

dont forget watch the video yet again, i hate that vid, renewed bike and car few months apart had to watch it twice, applied for international licence and they made me do the the lot again then realised i did not have to and pulled me out the vid room after half hour.

Went to Pattaya today to renew both motorcycle and car licences. Presented the required paperwork along with my expiring licences, paid the 1,060 baht, had my photo taken and walked out with new licences in less than 10 minutes. No tests at all. In fact no one at all, Farang or Thai, were being tested.

  6. No Non Immigrant B will be provided unless you have a WP3 (receipt form) or a valid WP, as far as I am aware.

No. Got one last week in Penang without WP3. Only a letter of invitation was required, along with the relevant company documents.

Immigration website says you need one but not asked for.

  7. Yawn - we get it - Jamesons are showing the Tri-Nations games - see last weeks posts on exactly the same topic.

Is there anyone left in Pattaya that doesn't know where Jamesons is / that it shows quite a lot of sports events / people can can food there ?

    Londo

You took the words right out of my mouth...

  8. A friend of mine in Australia recently told me about how she got fined AU$110 for arriving 5 minutes late on a 30 minute parking meter. It was raining heavily so she had been waiting for it to ease in a nearby shop .

The p!#$% was still processing the ticket when she arrived on the scene (him with umbrella in hand) and was using a handheld device but said "sorry, cant reverse the process once its started"

If she were unemployed and doing it tough, this (3000baht) would probably be half her weekly living allowance/payment....but yeh...stiff KEE is the response from the Australian police and same same from government...bugger all chance to get a waiver even if you are starving...very compassionate country eh?

I surmise if there were no corruption in Thailand, police were sqeaky clean, no tea moneys, AND as a result you expats had to pay baht 2000 for a helmet infringement, imagine the ensuing uproar..this site would have to be closed down from all the traffic :whistling:

I have serious doubts that a parking ticket is AU$110 in Australia. I suspect a wee bit of hyperbole and that AU$11 is more likely.

$11? What planet are you on? Last one I got (in Queensland) for overstaying a meter was $130.

A collegue of mine being a smart ass found out the hard way that: If it's not payed on time there was a $30 late fee. If then not paid you go to court and fined plus court costs. If you don't pay the fine the State Penalty Enforcement Service (SPERS) cancel your drivers licence and your car registration, have a warrant issued for your arrest and then attempt to seize money from your bank account or assets that you possess via the State Sheriffs Office. Meanwhile all the attempts they make to pay that original fine are also charged to you. it ended up costing him just over $4000 in fines and fees and a 2 year suspended drivers licence (it had already been cancelled so he could not reapply for 2 years). And just to make sure that he payed the $4000+ they garnished his wages via his employer.

Back top the OP, the only time I was pulled over here (I was breaking the law) the officer would not accept cash from me but insisted on a ticket and he was doing the same with the Thais he pulled over too. Pain in the ass having to go to the police station the next day to pay the fine 300 baht fine and pick up your licence.

  9. Tri Nations start tomorrow!!

    New Zealand v South Africa

    2:30p.m.

Jamesons will have it on the BIG SCREEN as well as the various small screens around the bar.

Great atmosphere - always lots of Rugby fans in the bar!!!!

    hope I see you there

Gee another gratuitous plug for Jamesons... Can't they afford to advertise like others do?

Told you before you ought to get out more and expand your horizons. You'll never know what you'll find...

  10. OK - endlessimage - you going to watch the final game Wednesday?

You know where to find me - I'll be in Jamesons enjoying it on the big screen!

Afterwards a weekly special - sounds like a good mid week deal to me!!

Why would I want to go into the hussle and bussle of the city when I can relax and also watch on the big screen while enjoying the fresh country air on the darkside?

Anyway, I wouldn't want to see you cry after your beloved Queensland gets beaten.

And Jamesons again? I swear you have shares in that place. You really ought to get out more... :whistling:

  11. The Vulcan - you take the words right out of my mouth.... Well said.

from one pompous full of their own importance so called pro to another thats hardly suprising, no wonder not many people want to get involved with this section of the forum when you two are around

Yawn.... Don't confuse knowledge and experience with being pompous. Would you call an expert in another field, say like an engineer or an architect or a doctor or a lawyer or some other QUALIFIED professional pompous because they offered you their professional opinion of an obviously amateur reply to a question? Probably not. There is no substitute for experience but you need to be educated on how to obtain that experience or else you may not progress.

IF you actually read my post I did invite the OP to contact me where I offered to instruct them on the basics.

This forum is an exchange of information and ideas but if I see a post that is so full of holes it would sink faster than the Titanic then I'll say so. Up to you take that advice, or not...

  12. Whoa! what a lot of drivel. Obviously you've followed your own advice from what I've seen from the work you have posted. If you would like me to publicly critique your work please let me know.

Oh, by the way I'm speaking as a professional photographer with 40+ years of experience worldwide and having lectured in it at some of finest universities around the world, where I guess their 4 year degree courses are simply a waste of time and money.

To the OP PM me with your details and I will show you the basics free of charge.

  13. endlessimage - I can't hear you! Nothing to say about last nights game?

Just in case you missed it: Queensland 36 New South Wales 4

    :):D :D

See, Queenslanders are still robbing us. The score was 34 - 6

Whatever though it still hurts. Luckily the beer took away the pain...
