  1. it's interesting how thailand can set the rules on who it lets come here / stay here .

i was flabbergasted when the conductor returned here .

What is so interesting about it

Thailand can decide who it lets in and who it doesn't

Who should be allowed who gets to enter? The British?

    Regarding the composer ....

If it looks like a duck ... walk like a duck ... quacks like a duck ...

Not the first time this person has had this type of issue

Well aren't you the lucky one that no one has ever pointed a finger at you.

Wold not call it lucky, would call it smart

I do not put myself in any situations that

    could lead to such issues

Since they deleted my prior post I have to agree with you.He put himself in the position to be charged. He fits the profile, where there is smoke there is fire.Pay the kid enough ,he will change his story, how about the others?Look at his picture.B) B) B) B) B) B)

  2. I am wondering if the issue is that you hadn't transferred the old visa/permission to stay into your new passport.

I had the old and applied for the retirement extension at the same time in Bangkok. No problem, took about 20 minutes longer.Did it last year, sounds like you are being ripped off.*I would not except their answers and demand they call Bangkok. When you are right, you are right.

    P/S anytime they are wrong and give me a hard time(very rare) I leave smiling.:D :D :D :D :D

  3. <br>

Well he's rather very naive or innocent. Let's see how this one plays out ???

:(Where there is smoke there is fire,he fits the profile.

Well perhaps you can tell us all - what is the profile? And whilst you're at it, why then did he come back to Thailand?

Why did he come back? You have to ask him that.Profile: works with kids in Pattaya, pianist and looks. Many others but you should look up profiles it might help you.Profiling works except in the minds of liberals, and the guilty.I suspect a deal was made with governments, will have to follow up.If he walks something is fishy.:whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: .

  4. If one were to believe many of our regular posters, it is a complete figment of your imagination, so, sorry to tell you ihunniebee. Its utterly impossible. You should seek therapy for these delusions of yours. At least, if one were to believe many Thaivisa men, that is. ;)

    Envy? :whistling:

Got me in one james, fat old hippie feminazis like myself don't get hit on at all. :whistling:

That answers a lot,I forgive you for everything,I didn't know.I will refrain from typing the truth for at least a day.:sorry:

  5. One thing that isn't mentioned or explained in the article, of course, is what business is this subject for the government to begin issuing directives like this?

As long as the concessionaires pay their fees and abide by the terms of their contracts, I would think it ought to be up to them how best to market and price their services... I can't imagine their contracts rule out in network pricing promotions.

Perhaps the govt. gets some particular cut of the interconnection fees, and doesn't like the carriers doing promotions that encourage customers to say within their own carrier's network and not call outside.

    Loss of tax money$$$$?

  6. Can second this experience yesterday (Mon March 8). Witnessed a number of people being told "new law" and "you go Chaeng Wattana" .. much to everyone's bemusement.

With all this help the foreigner attitude,I just did my first 90 day report by mail.Glad they stopped it at the one stop(My favorite place for 90 day).I avoided mail because of my very thick passport, just got a new one and will mail from now on.They stopped it at the one stop, reason, too many people using it.Only a government would think that way.Thank you for being lazy. :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

  7. It would be unfair to hold police, which are at the end of the day human beings, to a rigid and idealized code of ethics.

Huh? They supposedly enforce the law. Why is it "unfair" to expect them to follow it?

I judge the police on the fact that I can walk the streets in Bangkok and nobody bothers me,I don't count the foreigners,I take care of them myself.I don't pay high taxes like in Western countries, but I hear people complain about tea money. How do you pay tea money ,I would like to contribute. I think they do a fantastic job,are you aware that a red light ticket in LA costs $460.00 dollars, then your insurance uses it as an excuse to raise your rates for three years.I have never been stopped while driving in Thailand,it could be your driving.I like the Thai system!!!!

  8. OK, cheers Billr, it was a dumb question then. :D

Good, I will be bringing dr pepper back!

And a suggestion for alwaysright, might be a good idea to cease the trolling in various forums.

Giving ones opinion is trolling? So throw me out,I don't need petty comments,if you aren't happy change.

  9. If you qualify, and have a checking account in the US(or your country) get the AMX Gold card or above.I have a Blue and Gold.I can(if I want) go in once a month(Bangkok bank) and write a check for $2500.00 on my Gold and take an emergency $1000.00 on my blue card. The exchange rate is better than average.Bangkok bank charges 203 baht for the service. If you pay the AMX Blue before they post it(2/3 weeks),no charge, and no charge from AMX for the :Dcheck. :D :D :D :D

  10. When faced with this kind of corruption I always advice to notify your embassy. With a lot of complaints they should act and discuss it with the Thai government, they can even do this as embassies together.

Two times in 20 years I had someone from immigration that was out of line with me.One was Samui when doing a 90 day report(from Bangkok). Both times I insulted them so all could hear. Both times someone jumped in to take over. When you are right, you are right.I don't need them or their country.:bah: :bah: :bah: :bah: :bah:

  11. There are always those who do it better, cheaper, and all night long.

Glad to hear you are doing well and back up on your feet. I have been to Bum. for a couple of things and always good service and treatment.

I use Bum and luckily haven't been in need of surgery. They do cost a little more and I think that is really what a lot complain about. If I am really sick I don't want to pinch pennies,my insurance doesn't question the cost,so why should I?I think they are the best in S/E Asia and am glad that I can get there in minutes. :o :o :o :o :o Twenty years ago I spent a week in a US hospital,no surgery(blood clot).Cost my insurance $12,000.00.Yes,any hospital wants to get paid for service, don't you?

  12. I thought that the OP's observations were well observed.

The fact that he pointed out, and identified a certain ethnic group does not make him a racist at all.

The problem these days, is you are immediately labelled a racist whenever you make such a point.

Perhaps I am anti-muslim then, when I point people at the Saudi Arabian judiciary who have sentenced a Lebanese man to death for sorcery!

The problem with the OP is not that he highlighted something he perceives as being a problem, the problem is that he slings tired cliches and presents them as fact:

Very few of them have jobs or business here in Thailand, are here for tourism, or do anything to add to the local economy except spending a bit of money on cheap apartments, alcohol, and food. The bulk of what they are involved with here are criminal activities.
I truly resent all the racist comments that are evolving within this post, particularly the petty people accusing myself of being racist when they know absolutely nothing about me. I could even be of African decent myself.

What I posted is purely factual information for everyone's awarness and in hopes that it might bring about a change or even prevent someone else from getting ripped off. Where else have you read such pointed, factual information about this situation in Thailand?

As one poster said, we can't deny there is a serious problem and I am simply bringing it to light and helping to educate some people about it who might not be aware. FULL STOP.

You're trying to educate based on facts? :) How well educated are you?

One only has to go to the Thai prisons and the facts are in plain sight.

  13. Video tape them and post it on youtube .Get their faces clearly .Government seems to take notice when it goes public .

The good news? is that apparently the Foodland and associated premises are on the bulldozing block in the coming weeks / and months so will be looking for a new home I imagine.

:whistling:First I have heard this, been hearing the same about Washington square for years. :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: They only have to cross to NANA.
