  1. It just amazes me how many expats can complain about a country that they choose to move to, reminds me of most immigrants comming to Europe, as long as the money comes in, all is well. Once the flow stops, they start complaining. Ofcourse you have those who0 always complain.

If you choose to immigrate, you take risks and you choose the country to go to, but don't complain if it turns out to be a bad choice.

Nobody likes to loose money and I think loads of us lost money or made less then other years due to the world economy.

The situation in LOS is an unfortunate one, especially at the moment, mainly for the Thais who have no choice of going somewhere else.

  2. Regulations in Spain have changed loads this year.

You used to be able to go to a notary where you signed an invitation as a sponsor, that the Thai person could take to the embassy.

Now all invitations are checked by the police with loads of papers needed from the sponsor and waiting periods of up to a month to actually be able to get an appointment with the police to handle in the paperwork. After that it can take up to 2 weeks before you get the invitation that they can bring to the embassy. It's a real nightmare :D

My GF came to Spain 4 years in a roll, now it's so much hassle I decided to marry her in 2 months so we wouldn't have to go through all that every year. :o

  3. Actually its you who misses the point, "Some positions in life require you to do what is right and fulfill the obligations to your job," agreed and if your leaders also fulfilled their responsibilities instead of hiding away in Chiang Mai you might be prepared to carry out your responsibilities.

That is a reasonably fair critique in a perfect world. What bothers me though is that what countries give the police and army the "right" to disobey orders if it crosses their political opinions? The job of the police is to enforce the law, not choose to ignore that because you agree with the politics of a law breaker.

Even on this forum there is divided opinion, what about in Thai society? Who is wrong and who is right? Neither, it is about what side you support. Both are 100% right in their own minds. Guess that is why they say to maintain harmony don't discuss politics or religion, they are emotive issues.

Because I criticize PAD more than the government that doesn't mean I have any respect for the governmnet whatsoever, they are <deleted>. I just think the PAD are going about things in a wrong and destructive way. Both sides agenda is to benefit themselves, I sincerely wish a middle way could be found.

    Couldn't be more true.

  4. I've had a 30 day visa on border on 26 July this year, I returned on 15 august.

I came back in Thailand on 30 oct and need to go out 28 november (in 2 days)

Normally I have a flight out on 12 december.

I have a flight back from Europe to BKK on 2nd of Januari, but just found out that I need to go to Singapore from 5 till 13 of Januari and then I'm planning on staying in Thailand till the end of March.

What are my best options on visas?

I can go to Jomtien tomorrow for 14 days extension, but then?

    Any help appreciated.
