  1. Hmnnn....So far I read about a Brit, a Dutchman and an Aussie apprehended. I'm starting to wonder why the Yanks aren't representin'

Because they elect their prize idiots into the White House? :)

Yes they do elect idiots like GW and then morons like Blair and Howard follow the moron into Iraq.

    AND--who elected them?

It is only a matter of time before a Yank goes nuts and joins his brothers in jail for the cause.

Yanks are not really pro-socialism or pro-brothers for that matter they dig being independence

  2. It hardly matters whether Thanksin is or isn't extradited. The Red Shirt movement will grow in strength and eventually their demands will need to be accommodated.

:) Sure they took a big step towards that last week when they burnt down 30+ buildings and left thousands of working class BKK people out of work! Who wouldn't want to back that kind of movement? All of Thailand is thrilled with the way they handled themsleves haven't you seen the praise they are getting :D:D Will grow in strenth :D it seems to have self destructed! where do you people come from?

Obviously you are running on emotion. The prior poster is correct, red idealism or the movement will eventually grow. Bangkok is not Thailand. I do hope there is no further chaos, but the door was opened for "Red Thought" by the Military coup. Repression by the government will only lead to more confrontations. It is time to address the needs of all Thailand not just Bangkok and I believe Abhisit knows this. I do believe he has the smarts and the will to lead Thailand into a new era.

I agree. What I don't agre with is "red shirt demands will need to be accomodated" The red shirt party, UDD whatever you want to call it won't be winning any elections anytime soon and yeah I do understand that Bangkok is not Thailand cheers for that but also Issan is not Thailand. You should know that besides BKK there is this little part of the country they call the south=yellow

  3. Please consider before you respond to Sean.

He is clearly in troll mode, and even at his best, barely worth anyone's attention.

As for the Irish/Aussie - let him serve his 3 months for immigration infractions, and then boot him out. Preferably to his birth, rather than adopted, country.

Yeah he's a charecter eh. I can't understand what he's on about but strangely entertaining??

  4. Thanks

    3 idiots attack an Indian

and the whole country is bad

If they were three Indian women, there'd have been an outcry! :)

In the last case the Indian idiot was found to have attacked and burnt himself in an insurance fraud attempt. The Others were attack by ex Lebonese refugees.

It's not an Australia racism thread and nobody is trying to compare you to the KKK or say there is a major problem with race there but it is far from perfect and the cases I was mentioning were cases of clear hate crimes against Indian University students. Maybe you were not following events but as I was posted in India last year these cases were big in the news there. Whatever like I said no country has a spotless record.

  5. What are you teaching me and how do you know what I can afford :) ? Again your post makes no sense and completely out of context???

Your level of understanding is not my disorder.

Remember --- it isn't the caboose that kills you it is the locomotive.

Has anyone else here ever done time in prison?

You learn how to respect the caboose there.

I will take your word for it Sean. No I have not done any time in prison and proud of that fact.

  6. Read the bullsh-t coming from his mouth in this interview

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/05/25/2909169.htm

Nah, if you say it's bullshite, then give no reason, the link is just a waste of your time, not mine.

Are you on medication because I can't quite put my finger on it but there's something wrong with your posts they don't make a whole lot of sense unless English is not your native tongue?

Not sure what my user name has to do with anything either btw?

I am not paid to be your teacher. You have to educate yourself with what little you can afford. Don't expect any free help from me.

Ozzieman05 take it easy :D never said the whole country was anything eh and it wasn't just the one time your teens went on an Indian bashing frenzie. It's not perfect in my country either but I don't go around saying Canada is the model for racial harmony.

  9. @Opalhort: The short answer is there is no internationally established definition: however, as an example the FBI summarises this as

"Terrorism is the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives".

    Regards

yes, this about sums up the PAD when taking over the 'only' international airport in a major tourism country in high season. Well done for your observation!

BTW b4 anyone says phuket and chaing mai are int!! think again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you know the PAD takeover cost MORE yes MORE in dollars to the economy than the red's protest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would we have to think again? Phuket and Chiang Mai are Intl. airports :) You do know what International means right? also genious I think we will wait on the final total since it's going to take tourism a long time to rebound. Talking with some friends today who are GMs for major hotels in BKK they estimate it will take 3-4 months (if nothing else happens) for tourism to even begin to recover from this disaster. dream on little dreamer!

  11. Conor David Purcell on Red Shirt stage

    [newsfooter][/newsfooter]

What a wan** another know-it-all Australia representing the "western values".

Oh yeah Australia is an egalitarian society.. as long as you are white, narrow minded and a racist.

Australia is the only country to make an international incident over one of their trashy tourists stealing a bar mat.

You are the wank** if you think he is an dicky die Aussie who represents the majority of us.

Australia is very multi-cultural now and we live in harmony with all races.

The bar-mat woman got her night of fame on tv, not the applause from the citizens though.

I notice you have not bothered to fill in your profile details. Are you ashamed of your heritage or something?

Go off and finish your wank*** and refrain from commenting on something you do not understand.

Im not bashing on Aussies or anything but I got to take issue with your record on race relations with the recent attacks on Indians in Australia I wouldn't be so quick to claim it as the ideal for racial harmony. Just saying...

  12. There was another guy wearing a yellow headband, some German idiot ...

Great that narrows it down to a few million then :)

Yes we do, but there is a vast difference between silently understanding the truth and making an effort to act upon it. There is a price to pay, but thanks to the brave who willingly pay that price.

And what was gained by this retarded stunt? Why should anyone thank him? he did what besides embarass his country. Im not even Australian and Im ashamed.

  13. Respect to the guy for having the bottle to get up and say what he believes in. Many farangs sympathise with the red shirt movement but not many would put themselves in the firing line for it.

He must have known the danger he was putting himself in and the chances that his actions would bring his stay in LOS to a premature end but he obviously felt strongly enough to take the risk.

Welcome to the forum. Some of the motivation is driven by the caring that all human beings are of equal importance, and that apartheid shall never live in Thailand, nor the worlds we came from. That is what drives the brave to stand up for the sake of mankind.

wow maybe the two of you would like to join him. apartheid? maybe this tool had other motivations like a need for attention or to be someone important. The guy isn't even honest about his past. Seems to me like he is living in a fantasy world and you are ready to join him there.

Welcome you to the forum since I see you have only been here a matter of months so maybe unaware of how to conduct yourself in this country? I don't applaud him for his actions if he cared so much he should have booked a flight home and protested from there.

  14. Why is it always the Aussies and Brit who come to center stage here in Thailand for being just plain stupid.

We ain't stupid we are strong and if we beieve something then we stand up and speak straight. I have no comment on what he was talking about but i give him credit because he knew his business and which means that he also knew the out come of his actions and still braved on.

i don't think he is stupid he sounded like he was all there. Maybe to headstrong for his own good.

i try to not give my opinins on thai politics as a foreigner though i do respect the way people are ready to fight to the death what what they beleive in. reds and yellows!

Most of our 'new-world cousins' are sadly lacking in understanding, but not to blame them for their substandard education.

educated :) what kind of education teaches you that's it's a wise move to be front and center in an illegal protest in a country you are not a citizen of? and when your own embassy tells you to get the f*** out of dodge because you are going to be in deep sh*t you blow them off! I wouldn't be so quick to use this moron as your poster boy for the Australian education system.

  15. Hmm I don't really think this is a good idea. Why arrest only foreigners?

I know that he is a "farang" moron, but there are probably 20 or 30 more "Thai" moron that spoke at the rally.

yes yes this is thailand. but im still sad seeing this.

Oh, so those images shown on Australian TV of THAI 'Protestors' and Red Shirts being handcuffed, blindfolded and thrown into a dark and dingy cell - yes, the ones all the snivel libertarians and do-gooders said were outrageous and against basic human rights. I suppose they were bullshit?

Why arrest only foreigners? Good grief. There's a mug gets off the plane every minute.

No, not ONLY Farang get arrested.

More than 500 Thais have already been arrested.

    Go read the papers.

Show me the news that the police go to a protester's house, and arrest them because he/she spoke at the rally.

This guy was not arrested on site.

cpofc: I meant that the speakers during the rally. Not the protesters in general.

Why are some members on here so lazy? if you want to know something look it up yourself. Arrests are ongoing, they have arrested many already - common knowledge available everywhere. Also he is NOT the same as any other protester as he is a foreigner. Why wouldn't they go and collect him?

  16. There's a number of ways to look at this.

    1) While the warrant was issued in Thailand, a lot of countries pretty much consider Thailand as not much better than some Banana Republics, and therefore not pay much attention to this warrant.

    2) Even should they recognize it, that does not mean that if he were apprehended that the country which apprehended him, or even if it is Interpol, will be willing to extradite him, as many, if not most civilized countries will not extradite someone who faces a possible death sentence if returned to their country of origin which has issued the warrant.

    3) While this undoubtedly place some "pressure" on him, it hardly stops him in his tracks, as there are still a whole list of countries who will still allow him to come and go freely, based on their own corruption, and his financial contributions to it.

In my opinion, bringing Thaksin back to Thailand would be a major mistake by the current government. That would put the hero of the Reds on their soil, and they would probably storm any prison or jail he was being kept in, or at least attempt to. And should he die, whether by true accident or something like a heart attack, while in custody, the entire world would be suspicious, and the Reds would truly rampage then. What we saw in BKK and the provinces with fires and arson would look like a Sunday picnic and this country would go up in flames.

To me, the best thing this government could do is make Thaksin a "non issue", stop putting him on the front page every day, and stop trying to blame everything on him. Make him a non entity that doesn't exist. They have themselves to blame, in some ways, for continuing to make him an issue. My advice to the government: "Forget about him and get on with business".

But, hey, to me that would make sense, and everyone knows that "sense" is something in seriously short supply of here.

Interesting post. I agree and think Thailand should erase him, no more mention of him and refer to him as irrelevant. This would be the ultimate punishment for an obvious egomaniac.

    Erase? Like Seh Daeng?

Why not just call the A Team.

    See my last sentence above.
